the cheesecake factory at southcenter mall

pleasantly surprised!. i have always been scared of cheesecake factory because i've always heard about how unhealthy the food and the portions are. i went there last month with my hubby for the first time on a whim. he ordered a philly cheesesteak. i ordered a few small plates; a santorini farro salad and vietnamese tacos. they were both so delicious and fresh! as i am writing this review i am getting a serious craving for the vietnamese tacos, which cheesecake factory describes as "steamed asian buns with roasted pork, marinated cucumbers, carrots and onion with chiles, cilantro and sesame seeds." i also got a slice of classic cherry cheesecake to go. it took me a few days to eat it, with help from my hubby. it was soooo good. everything a classic cheesecake should be. we both really enjoyed it. i am shocked to hear myself say this...but i can'twaitto go back!

chain restaurant with a menu big enough requiring a thirty minutewaitto review before you can order. the many times i've been here i've had descent food and a great martini with blue cheese olives. the cheesecakes i've tried in the past were good. tonight, i had their tataki salad which was descent.

unbelievable!!. on sunday, april 14th, we were invited to attend a friends birthday celebration at the cheesecake factory in tukwila, wa.

my friend had called ahead to inquire about getting reservations as we had a party consisting of nine people. she was told "the cheesecake factory does not accept reservations. just show up and place your name on thewaitlist." ok, no problem.

we all arrived at about 4:30 and proceeded to place our name on thewaitlist at which time we were told by hostess that because we had such a large party that she would have to check with the manager first. uh...weren't we told to just show up and place our name on the list?

after standing around for 15 minutes wondering if we had been forgotten, the hostess returns and tells us that they would be able to accommodate our party, but that, "it would be an hour and fifteen minute wait."

now mind you that it was sunday afternoon and the restaurant was exceptionally slow that day. yes, there were people milling about waiting for a table, but not the normal, people-stepping-on your-toes-line-outside-the-door type of busy.

the decision was made to go elsewhere rather thanwaitfor more than an hour just to be seated.

the funny thing was that when my friend posted her displeasure on the cheesecake factory, they immediately took down her comments. i guess they don't want anyone to critique their restaurant. you would think that they would welcome feedback in order to help improve their customer relations.

we will never go back to the cheesecake factory again as a result of this horrible experience. there are much better places to dine at that are more than happy to accommodate us.

worth the wait. this is a amazingly busy no reservation restaurant so you will generally have towaitandwaitand maybewaita little more to get seated. once you do get seated you find a catalog of a menu to choose from and i don't think i've ever had something that was not good. the portion sizes are generous and are well presented and thewaitstaff is attentive and urgent in their service. prices are not cheap but worth the extra over other chains like red robin or the ram.

yum!. they have a large variety of food. i usually get pasta (bistro shrimp pasta is delicious), or steak (which is also good there too). the staff is always very friendly and helpful. they have pretty good clam chowder and an excellent list of cheesecake. a huge drink menu and the drinks are pretty strong and very tasty. my only gripe is that you are not able to make reservations and sometimes thewaitcan be ridiculous, especially if you have a large party.
