really great place for breakfast and/or brunch! this nice little place tries to use locally sourced ingredients wherever possible! i suggest trying their eggs benny dishes because instead of an english muffin as the base, they use freshly made waffles! the staff are all super nice and friendly as well. they do get busy so expect to wait on the weekends, but it is very worth it!

so happy to see a farm to table restaurant here in the north; food is really good everything is fresh and the place has a great old school diner feel. one thing to be aware of it gets busy but the owners (who are awesome and friendly) have a great 'your table will be ready in...' system in place so be sure to call a head if during peak breakfast hours. love the benedicts and the chorizo bowl by far my favs. great work and keep it up guys!

went here his morning, quick service and friendly staff. had the breakfast pouting, wish it had more ham and mushroom and that the hollaindaise was creamier, not a fan of the garlic hollaindaise i have to say. my boyfriend had the farmers breakfast, he seemed to like it but his eggs were over cooked to his liking.

heard about this place for a while now,my wife had been a couple of times ,but this was my first visit ,liked the feel of the place right from the start, clean and welcoming nice colours and décor, for a small place it was spacious and not crowded like a lot of the popular breakfast places around town,i ordered the bacon benny while my table mates both had frittata,s it was all good i would not say spectacular but good, service was good and friendly, the duck fat hash didn't do a thing for me and i wasn't to hot on the waffle instead of english muffin on the benny ,just was very flat and tasteless, but it was worth a try, they are trying to be unique and i would say they are, i would go back and try something else in the future.

this breakfast place is amazing. the house made sausage is the best, the potatoes are perfectly fried, the lattes are lovely and the waffles that are served with your choice of dipping sauce are delicious! this place is a must for breakfast!

went to try this place when it first opened. got the waffles with the chix. waffles weren't fluffy and even the frozen waffles tasted better. they were dry and over done. the chicken was deep fried too dry. my friends waffles was way over cooked and was hard as a rock. you can tap your fork on the waffle and make music. they did give us a new waffle but still too over done. i would not come back to this place.

we heard great things about bro'kin yolk and decided to try it out saturday morning. i got the truffle, ham and wild mushroom poutine and my husband got the hash. i enjoyed my dish, though i wish it had more mushroom and ham. the dish was mostly potatoes but they were still really good. my husband found the hash to be a little dry, and he preferred mine which was a little more 'saucy' since the eggs on my dish were poached. overall it was a good restaurant if you're looking for a breakfast joint in the nw. personally i still really like oeb and reds better, although i would not oppose returning to bro'kin yolk to try out their chicken and waffles.
we also got the mini waffles ($2.50) and white chocolate and lavender ($0.50) sauce to start. i really enjoyed this.

my second time coming here, it's pretty good. there bottomless coffee is always delicious. the menu is good. i had the chicken and waffles, it was delicious. the last time i came i had a generic breakfast plate. eggs, bacon blah blah blah. it was ok. nothing different. i would come back here when i'm craving those chicken and waffles. too bad the location is so small. your pretty much sitting right next to the table next to you.

walked in with no reservation on a very busy saturday, 3 children and 3 adults and we are seated in about 15 minutes which is excellent for a saturday brunch time.
the restaurant was packed and we still had excellent, cheerful service and the wait time was reasonable for such a busy place.
i had the apple pie waffle, it was fluffy and delicious, the apples, cream, pecans yummy ... quite an indulgence. ordered a medium poached egg on the side and it was coined perfectly. my toddler had the french toast which was gone very fast and then he wanted more rather than his fruit of course. another of the adults had the chicken and waffles and enjoyed that as well.

after waiting a very long time for meals it arrived with a long hair wrapped around the food. sent it back it arrived after my friends finished eating, missing the side i requested. received the bill and was given half off. wow, only half price for hair and inconvenience of eating alone?! must have been my lucky day. they also rush you out right after you're done. won't be back. you're new, do it right.

when brokin yolk first opened i was so excited to have a great breakfast place in my neck of the woods. the food and service was amazing the first few times i went. the quality has slowly deteriorated. my eggs are always over cooked, the hollandaise sauce greasy and separated. i'm going to be returning to my downtown favourites because the drive is worth the good food. i used to highly recommend this place to my friends but not anymore unfortunately. seriously disappointed.

i've been hearing alot of good things about this place. so i decided to try it out with some friends. the owner was amazing but for the qualify of the food i would have to say it's just ok. we ordered 3 different versions of their eggs benny and the eggs where all overcooked. but a couple people did say their chicken and waffles was juicy.

we called ahead and got in about half an hour wait which wasn't too bad. the prime rib hash was delicious. the little farmers plate was a great portion for our two young toddlers - for $7 it was a good deal! i have to agree with the reviews on the chicken on waffle. the waffle was disappointing, very thin and pale, i think we could've cooked one better ourselves and for the price. the chicken was good, however, and the sauce that came with it was nice. my husband also enjoyed his sous vide chicken poutine. all in all, decent meal, we will be back.

this is hands down, one of the best restaurants in the city!! a brekkie place that is just as fantastic ✨ (if not more so) as any of the legendary ones found in the downtown/beltline areas.
these guys cure their own bacon, have fresh hash browns made from local hutterite potatoes, and the best waffles i've ever had. the eggs 🍳 are always done to perfection.
*pictured below is their bacon bennie. (i took a bite before i took the pic...sorry...lol...it just looked too yummy). 😃*
the menu prices are perfectly reasonable; especially for the high quality of food.
service is fast and friendly. 👍🏼
if you don't live in the nw, trust me, this is well worth the trip!

server told us there would be a 45 min wait at the beginning, but got us a counter seat in 10 min which was good. food was served fast, taste however was just average. i ordered a bacon benny, the potatoes was very good, pouched eggs had no taste. and the waffel was soaked in sauce so it became very soggy. my fav brkfst place by far is still oeb.
