back again. by a fortunate coincidence we returned here for a lunch a week after a previous visit! 4 adults this time and so the drinks bill really added up! however if you are going to visit a restaurant like this you should be aware it's going to cost.
away from the $ side of things the food was brilliant (again) and the wine offerings matched perfectly. we had a differentstaffmember looking after us this time and again i just couldn't justify any of the comments by previous reviewers. the service was friendly, helpful and very good - certainly not stuffy or arrogant. i won't detail the goings on with our party however much fun was had!
so, be prepared for a large bill but the food and wine is superb so take out a second mortgage and enjoy yourself! i

still excellent. 3 of us for lunch on a friday - including a 13 year old who fancies himself as a bit of a gourmet!
we had no criticisms at all, other than perhaps the desert wine we so liked wasn't available at cellar door! ok it was expensive but we knew that! the service was friendly, efficient and welcoming. we even overheard what we judged as a rather picky complaint from a nearby table and thestaffwere responsive friendly and courteous with that customer!
food was of an impeccable standard - a magic "soup of the day", scallops and quail sausage entrees did not disappoint. duck with fungi, snapper, and lamb rounded out the mains very nicely. an alcoholic dessert also went over very nicely with one of the adult diners!
could not fault the service as stuffy or the food style as old or past it and i would highly recommended this restaurant for anyone looking for a special adelaide hills lunch - in summer the deck outside can be brilliant but being winter it wasn't open. there were however a couple of open fires to keep us snug and add character!
