a restaurant that possesses both excellent service and high quality food. went here for lunch and we were very impressed!
food
we had the yummy pork belly, delicate squid ink parpadelle and the market fish. all were high quality and delicious. we wanted to have more!
service and atmosphere
the location of this place is perfect. outdoor dining was surrounded by greeneries and trees. they had a fire pit and the river was on sight. great customer service from the staff!

while the ambience, live music and food was enjoyable, a big let down and largely the cause of me marking the rating down are the toilets!! ugh!! it is a telltale sign when the toilets are not at a basic level of cleanliness let alone pristine. it took away from everything else good about bridgewater mill. special mention: the duo with the acoustic live music were excellent.

overall, a disappointing (w/ the toilets) end to an otherwise pleasant experience.

our first time at the bridgewater mill. it’s a lovely old building, with tables in the mill and in the annex. it was really cold the night we dined, not sure if that is usual or the heating had issues that night. they did bring portable heaters. food was nice, not outstanding. pork was over cooked, but the prawn tempura were huge and delicious. dessert platter was fantastic. wait staff were brilliant.

i had an extremely pleasant experience here. it was a cold day and the inside was warm and welcoming. the service was impeccable as well as the food. expect to pay a little bit here but well worth every cent! 10/10

the place looks beautiful with lots of natural lighting. service was good and we could easily catch our waitresses attention and she was quite attentive as well. as entrees we had the scallop which was delicious and well seared. for mains , was a bit dissapointed as the flavour combo was a little lacking especially with the venison and braised daikon which did not match well. we also had the duck breast which was cooked well but needed some sauce to tie it in together. however, they do have a great selection of wines.

we went here for an anniversary lunch and we loved it. first of all the service was lovely, very warm and helpful. secondly, the atmosphere was really nice. we were one of the first couples to join so we had a spacious table with a small couch each.

the food was just top notch that day. we had baked brie. not the best baked brie i've ever had but still very good. the scallops were great, well caramelised and the salad had an asian feel. lastly we had the lamb. this was perfectly cooked, so tender and juicy. no doubt we will be back soon.

there was lovely service here. so friendly and welcoming. attentive but not intrusive. the food here is delicious and of great quality. i had the carnivores paddock, crispy potatoes (orange butter, rosemary), autumn leaves (cucumber, pickled onion), and brulee (salted caramel, banana, chocolate, almonds). the carnivores platter was flavourful especially the tomato chutney, pork terrine, and chorizo. the salad was well dressed and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. the brulee was creamy with bruleed banana on top. would have been nice to eat on the deck if it was wasn't raining but the inside was nice too. would recommend here!

the restaurant at the bridgewater mill has long been known for serving fine food.  in fact, it used to be on the gourmet traveller top 100 list.  my first meal there was before i’d moved to adelaide.  i was over on a work trip and following my meeting i jumped in a cab from the city (hang the expense!), had a quick two course lunch and then headed straight to the airport to fly home.  that was in the days when le tu thai was cheffing.  i still remember the superb scallop sausage in seafood bisque – one of my treasured food moments.  i’ve been a few times since and i’ve never been let down.

went on a rainy summer's day so had to sit indoors. was kind of an odd space. we were greeted by a super enthusiastic waitress who remained so for our entire service. my daughter & i shared a cheese platter which was just delicious & was beautifully presented. had a couple of nice wines by the glass. am keen to go back to try all the other platters on a day when we can sit outside.

what a beautiful setting. table service very good. we had 3 of the platters which was shared between 4 will plenty of food and variety. the millers, vegetarian and seafood platters were amazing. beautiful outside deck with a beautiful adelaide hills view.

my special birthday lunch at bridgewater mill restaurant last saturday and this is what i experienced::

fine dining was let down with ugly heavy cut off bottles for drinking water.  
when the food tastes strange and is not eaten some enquiry from the waiting staff should rectify this problem immediately and replace it.  
waitress was aware but sadly there was no response and i went without a lunch that was my birthday present from my family. 
we were still charged the full amount!   i didn't want to make a fuss in front of my family.  so you can imagine i was mightily disappointed and my treat ruined.  i will avoid your restaurant in future.  jaz storey

i dined here today for lunch and experienced a bitter sweet event.
the venue, decor and ambiance were very pleasant.
the meals were made from good produce but were very small at a high end price.
i'm not unfamiliar with petite quality meals from high end restaraunts but this didn't fit that category.
i had the goat rack which was all bone that probably contained 100 grams of meat at $40.
3 mains, 3 glasses of wine and 3 coffees was$180.
not bank breaking stuff but despite the pleasant atmosphere i left disappointed.

this place has sadly not reaching the quality of food it once served.
i shan't return.
the service is also another let down. it's all over the place. the menus offer food which is not even available. who knows how long that's been going on.
let's just say the shoe don't fit.

wow!!! this was one of the most exquisite meals i have ever had!! the service was absolutely outstanding! they were personable, professional and knowledgable! after chatting for a little we found out that it has changed management 2 months ago. being a chef myself, i was absolutely blown away with my waygu beef & my dessert! both meals had amazing balance of flavours & textures! you will not be disappointed in this place! amazing atmosphere, beautiful & original surroundings & outstanding food & service! i cannot speak of how highly i rate this place after our dinner last night! do your self a favour & book a table!
