cute storefront, friendly service, wonderful desserts. this place is probably the cutest, most feminine restaurant in all of cincinnati. i went to both the cafe as well as the bakery and i enjoyed both.
we stopped in for breakfast last week and found the food to be good. it should be noted that they don't have a full breakfast menu - meaning they don't have a cook making things that you order. they have a display case with some baked goods from the bakery and an expansive breakfast drink list (tons ofteaand some coffee choices). we had a couple of danishes and a cappuccino. all of it was very good. we then made our way back to the bakery and got some things to go. the macaroons, opera cake, tarts, and everything else was delicious and aesthetically quite pleasing as well.
on a side note, the service was exceptionally friendly. they only had one person working the cafe when we were there and so service was (understandably) moving a bit slow. apparently it was too long of a wait for a couple of people who huffed and puffed, then left. after that some guy in a characteristically obnoxious nyc accent yelled to the employee that they need to hurry up because they are losing customers. and then this guy got his order to eat in... so what was the rush for exactly? if you want fast food, go to a fast food joint. this is a cafe obviously not suited for a breakfast rush of any kind. fortunately, the lady working behind the counter played it off very well and proceeded to serve everyone in a friendly manner. i really have to commend her for not getting upset at the jerk behind us.
overall, i liked this place and may be back if i'm ever in the area again. i'd be interested to try out the lunch fare. i would definitely recommend to dessert lovers and it is worth a bit of a drive to go check out.
