mixed bag of tricks. tried this southside institution for a birthday celebration with the in-laws. nice service, good patter. becks blue for the pregnant lady - no problem!
the aspargus and chestnut pasta had a distinct lack of aspargus even though we're well into the season now. it also lacked the chestnuts but we were informed about this before ordering so that's fine. sister ordered the fillet steak rare but got it medium and went in a huff. they took it off the bill. very happy with the open ravioli with smoked haddock, a creamy scottish dish with well cooked pasta! ostrich with brambles seemed to go down a treat. good desserts, if perhaps a bit artificial on the apple flavouring of the sorbet on the special's board.
will come back, very unpretentious and goodatmosphereon a thursday night.
