set within the very exclusive suburb of mosman, the restaurant and cafe at the bathers’ pavilion is owned and operated by sydney celebrity chef serge dansereau.

the breathtaking views toward north head and beyond set the tone for some of the most expensive real estate around sydney harbour.

tourist trap. bathers has an overrated reputation. we eat a lot of places...
we spend a lot of money. (eg. 4 times to tetsuya's). but this was just not value for money. $90 for 2 courses makes it roughly a $60 main and a $30 entree for a lunch visit! not justified! i think that it must be the tourist trade putting the price way out of sensible league.

over priced, poor quality food and pretentious service. not worth visiting even for the view.

would never return. as a foodie who often indulges in fine dining, this was beyond disappointing. i don't mind paying the money, but the portions were appallingly small and none of our dishes were particularly great. shame because the cafe side is great along with the view. overall the food is pretentious and a complete waste of money.

great food and beautiful location, terrible service. having dined at bathers for breakfast and dinner on multiple occasions the service is getting worse every time i go back. fortunately for bathers the food is always great and the views are to die for. it's a real shame that they can't sort out the service. crazy!

...for what we paid ($72.50 for an entree, a main, the cocktail and a soft drink), it wasn't good value. however, the experience of enjoying a decent hot meal indoors with seaside views is something to treasure.

massively overpriced!. i went here with a group of friends for lunch. i knew going into the lunch that it was going to be quite expensive at $110 per head. the $110 did not include drinks and was for a 3-course meal only. for that price, i was expecting some big servings and delicious flavours. how wrong was i....

the entree came out and i was honestly shocked at the size. this shock continued through to the main and dessert as small plate after small plate arrived at our table. the chef seems to think that "foam" is the new trend, and almost everybody's dish had foam of some sort on it. i considered this a waste of space on the plate and for the price, i want real food - not foam.

to top off my dining experience, my lamb (the main) was overcooked - i asked for medium and received well-done. maybe the chef should concentrate on the basics first rather than worry about putting foam on every dish??

needless to say, i was disappointed with me lunch and i would not recommend going here for a fine dining experience.

totally stunning. we had the degustation menu which they happily modified for one of us who doesn't eat meat. each and every course was divine and the view and ambiance wonderful. can not wait to go back

terrible kids meal. 3 x kids fish chips last night - the worst and most expensive kids meal ever. so much so, my kids all had belly aches last night. waste of $54 , better off going to mcdonald's.

disappointing. service terrible, food acceptable. the only thing saving this restaurant is the view.my suggestion get takeaway, sit on the beach, and save yourself the hassle from dealing with these gits. i live in the area but will not be going back anytime soon.

tip: don't make my mistake and park on the more expensive side of the street if you're driving here. the side of the street which is closer to the beach is paid parking and very expensive. apparently (so i was told by my northsider friends who i met up with for breakfast) the side of the street further from the beach is free parking.

i had lunch here with my partner and it was very enjoyable. for a 'cafe' it is expensive but it has a restaurant quality setting, service and food not to mention the view. we were here on a beautiful sunny day so the view was amazing. i would come here again!

disappointing. taking some overseas visitors out for a nice lunch with a view turned out a disappointment, yes the view was great but at $100.00 per head for 2 courses without wine one would expect more than 2 mouthfuls from main courses. the meat dishes were an embarrassment. the beef was tender but was no bigger than 2 postage stamps cubed and the lamb was even smaller being no bigger than 2 small fingers. thank goodness for the generous serving of bread which filled the hole. for the price and portion size one would expect the equivalent of silver service but no even that was mediocre to say the least. definitely not worth a return or recommendation.
