relaxing atmospher and child friendly restaurant who also is very accommodating when it comes to pregnant women dietary requirements and changes to our table order. we had 3 birthdays, 2 pregnant women, a toddler requiring a high chair, and 2 people arriving late so couldn't join the rest for the degustation. all were taken care of. we weren't rushed at all which was great. degustation menu was top notch but on the meaty side. kids meal comes with a dessert off the normal menu. however no palate cleanser mid way though. it's in the entertainment book so you get 25% off up to $50 per card, max 3 cards per table.

i had always wanted to come here but when a friend told me about the special offer you get on your birthday i took a day off work to go have lunch here and it was the best decision ever.

the service was exceptional. staff were attentive yet also provided space for us to enjoy our day together and the beautiful view if the beach through the big windows.

the best part obviously was the food. i strtted with the fiery mexican a cocktail of tequila, triple sec, grapefruit and chilli which was served in a salted glass. it was definitely fiery with the chilli coming through the drink as well as the salt rim.

shortly after we ordered our food we were served freshly baked beads that were made in house with two types of salt (murray river pink salt and white rock salt) and two types of butter, salted and unsalted. then before the entrees were served we were served an amuse bouche of pork terrine with mushroom puree and hazelnut crumb.

for entrée, we ordered venison tartare and slow cooked pork. the venison tartare was well complimented with a chestnut puree, chestnut chips and homemade grape mustard and black garlic. the grape mustard brought a great hit of favour to the dish. the slow cooked pork literally melted in your mouth.

for mains we had duck breast and beef tenderloin. the duck was perfectly cooked and the miso eggplant that came with it provided a nice salty accompaniment. the coffee crumbed beef cheek was unusual yet delicious.

finally, dessert was the best end of passionfruit mousse with valrhona dulcey blond chocolate turmeric and lemon sauce, passionfruit sorbet and chestnut cream financier blueberries, meringue, chestnut ice cream. passionfruit really shone through. however i couldn't really taste the tumeric. the chestnut cream was very subtle yet delicious.

overall, a lovely way to celebrate a birthday.

such a lovely venue with beach views and a calm interior. we ordered the bolognese pasta and duck ragout pasta. both were delicious, the bolognese is probably one of the best bolognese i have had! we also had a side of steamed green vegetables which were nicely seasoned and fresh. i would love to return

the food. all the seafoods, both salmon and oyster are very fresh and delicious. as you can tell from the photos, they are beautiful and perfect for pictures.

the service. all of the staff are friendly. they rearranged the seats for my friends and me, and patiently introduced different wines to let us decide.

btw, i like the rainbow colour napkin clothes. the ocean view outside is just too good to be missed.

when i was planning my wedding there was a clear order to things. food was prime, i wasn’t really too  fussed about the rest of it. hubby being there to was probably important in an esoteric sense. oh and close friends and family too of course. i lub you guys. just don’t get in the way of the food please.

such a nice restaurant located by the water. enjoyed dining here on my birthday even though there a slight miscommunication.

we chose the 3 course menu $110 each which started off with a complimentary fish croquette. really subtle taste with a nice crunchy exterior.

1) seared scallops and slow cooked pork cheek. the scallops dish was very light. tasted nice but wanted more. definitely recommend the pork cheek. great portion and very flavourful.

2) pan fried barramundi and roast beef tenderloin.
my fish was so flaky and juicy. great skin on top, wonderful combination. the beef was so good!

3) raspberry and fromage blanc gateau and dark chocolate mousse.
i preferred the mousse but it was quite rice. didn't overly enjoy the raspberry dessert. something about the combination of tastes just didn't sit right with my palette.

the slight miscommunication was that they wrote "happy birthday" not only on my dessert plate, but also on the lady, sitting next to me, her plate but hers had my name on it. it's not a big thing to me but as my partner put effort in trying to organise something special for me he was a little disappointed in that.

a few brief words to one of the waiters?/ head of section?, an apology was given and a bather's beach bag was gifted. it was a small mistake and it's understandable as they were so busy that friday night. really commend that particular worker's professionalism. compared to all the staff that served us that night, he was definitely the best.

definitely recommend this restaurant for a special evening.

beautiful location and menu selection, staff were friendly but the service could use some improvement. waiters were a little sloppy, forgetting drink orders, one dessert was forgotten and not on top of refilling water glasses.

this place has a magnificent view of balmoral beach. the tables are well placed to enjoy the view and the service on the wednesday that we went was quick and easy. we ordered the bolognese pasta and the eggplant pizza. both were very good but still over priced for such simple dishes that don't cost a lot to prepare. a great place to go for a special treat!😊

food was amazing. the service was bad to the point of being bizarre/ perplexing, which impacted the overall experience and gave me the shi+s - not what i was after. our booking for 1pm 3 course meal for 6 took over 2.5hr to serve. i couldn't get through a single glass of sparkling water without it being filled with still water by 3 different staff, that last one didn't even bring a refill, only a new empty glass...? they served dishes then retracted them and served them to the next table. when they got our meals correct they offered them to the wrong people. i think there are systems for waiting tables that other restaurants apply...?on the positive, the wait staff were very nice and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. the view was great. did i mention the food was amazing :)

food was fabulous, pity the service didn't match. we enjoyed a table d'hôte menu for 11 pax, right way to go to keep the choices simple and the service time, uncomplicated. food beautifully presented and wonderful. to see truth in flavour and texture, exceptional. pity the staff couldn't come up with a system to know who ordered what- most restaurants can manage this. also seemed to have about 5 different staff fluffying around each one approaching te table slightly hesitatingly, not sure what was to be done

it was a beautiful day and great view from the seats. i ordered chicken steak and it was delicious but nothing special. staff was friendly but i think they should get more staff to take care of customers more nicely. anyway i liked the place.
