displeased i am not. nice atmosphere, good service, and great food. i started with a half dozen oysters, loose cannon ipa, and followed with a lobster roll and another loose cannon. theoystersare fresh. mine were grand pearl and blue point. the lobster roll was rich, sweet, and decadent. a lightly toasted roll, buttered, and filled with lobster. a side of emulsified butter with a touch of cream was on the side. how soon until my next meal?

this was our first night out in fells point! the atmosphere and bar scene was fun and vibrant. we got a recommendation to check out thames. there was a 45 minute wait so we opted to sit at the bar. the waitress was so cool. we started out with the maryland crab soup w/short rib, an order of fried oysters, and a few rawoysterson s half shell. i chose some briny and sweet selections from california and maryland. we chose the whole sea bass over collard greens for our entree. it was all delicious! i’ll highly recommend this place to others. it was a great atmosphere.

very disappointing. my husband and i shared 3 shrimp that looked beautiful, they had no taste, picked herring that was good, andoysterson the half shell that were watery. i had crab cakes that were nothing special, you could have gotten from the local food truck. had our server stopped to ask how things were, i would have had to be honest and tell her. for a $100plus dinner, we expected more and was very disappointed. we live in ohio and visit baltimore every once in a while for great seafood.

seafood at its best !. was looking forward to something special last night. i love myoystersand am a huge fan of our local seafood restaurant in princeton, blue point grill. once i started digging in to the exotic selection ofoystersat thames street, it was hard to decide wether to have an entree or just order moreoysters! i finally ordered the block island scallops which melted in my mouth and came sitting on a very tasty corn/ veggy mixture. my wife and son devoured 3 orders of calamari. the service was excellent and the waiter was very helpful. back in nj now and going to relay my experience to the people at blue point grill. i brought back the oyster menu and hopefully they will be able to source a few new ones to add to their list. thames street being one of baltimores higher end eateries was not cheap, however, if you really love fresh seafood, it's a no brainer.

lively an fun. visiting from la and didn't have a reservation so we waited for seats to open up at the bar. the bartenders were great and helped move people around so we could sit. we had the mussels, oysterson the half shell, a lobster roll and chowder. everything was really delicious and if i wasn't stuffed i would have ordered more mussels. sitting at the bar we talked with the people around us and watched the stanley cup on tv. the people were so much fun and the kings won. perfect evening out.

true gem. lived up to the other great reviews. this place is a true gem. service was exceptional, the food was fantastic and fresh. the place has a clean and vibrant feel with that old town fells point feel. lobster roll sandwich was awesome, the crab cake sandwich was good but could have had a little more lump crab. theoysterswere fantastic , they have an amazing selection ofoystersfrom various regions and tasted great. the beer was good, the wait staff was attentive, polite and knowledgable. the food came out with a nice presentation as we dove into theoystersand followed by the entrees. highly recommend, especially for lunch (must be seated by 2:00pm).

thames street rocks. thames street oyster house in fell's point, baltimore
we came over to fell's point on the water taxi and as soon as we got off the boat i fell in love with this whole area.  so many shops and restaurants and we lucked out finding thames street oyster house, what a find!  we just wanted something light to eat and some drinks so we sat at the bar and ordered from the raw bar.  fabulous freshoystersand shrimp and lobster tail.  they have a large variety of oysters.  they also offer other shellfish at the raw bar but we didn't want to overdo it but i could have sat here all day and indulged on the wonderful shellfish and the potent drinks (the way i like them).   we stopped at a couple other places in the area that day but this by far was my favorite.

wonderful first visit. my boyfriend and i were in baltimore last week and i made sure to do loads and loads of restaurant window shopping before we headed there. we're from west virginia, and you just can't find good, fresh seafood around here.

thames street oyster house is located in one of the best locations in fell's point. it's right by the water down a cobblestone road. the restaurant itself isn't anything fancy. but it's nice and intimate. we were seated on the second floor, and the only thing really bad was that you could hear the raucous from the patrons down on the first floor.

we started with the grilled rock octopus salad. pretty good, but had too much olive sauce for me. if you like olives, i'm sure you won't mind it. my boyfriend also had a fewoystersand said they were fantastic.

for our entrees... i had the whole 1 1/4lb main lobster. it's split and grilled and served with the claws on top. it also came with grilled asparagus. i added a side of red skin potatoes and it was all just enough. this was my first lobster, and it was fantastic! my boyfriend had the bouillabaisse. it has mussels, top necks, white fish, shrimp and squid in it with a saffron tomato bouillabaisse broth over noodles. the noodles were his only complaint about the dish. they were huge and hard to eat.

after, we had the creme brulee, which was excellent.

we'll be back!

if i could love it, i would.. fantastic! everything from the raw bar was excellent! had about a dozen and half rawoysters(they had 15 different kinds). they were all shucked expertly, no shell and loads of juice in each. and the crabcake sandwich was really great as well. so happy that we stopped here for lunch before leaving baltimore.

we will definitely be returning to the thames street oyster house.

awesome!!!. the list ofoystersto choose from is very impressive. they also provide a description of how each oyster tastes and that was fun as well. the descriptions were spot on to the oyster's flavor.

our group had the lobster roll, crabcake sandwich and oyster po-boy. all of the sandwiches were great with the nod going to the lobster. i am not a big lobster fan and i thought it was great.

the service was top notch as well. we liked it so much that we went twice while in town. we don't normally do that as we like to try different places.

simple is good; complex is bad. superlative crab cakes, good/moderately priced wine list.oystersexceptionally fresh and great selection. however shucker got shell pieces in mostoysters- big no-no. apps were less successful. scallop "ceviche" was actually boiled and the scallops were hard and dry. had to send these back to kitchen. replaced with grilled octopus, actually a small tower of cheese, peppers, some other ingredients, with a few pieces of octopus hiding in the pile. not terrible, but we felt cheese didn't go well with octopus. more octopus in this dish please! this place excels with simply prepared, fresh seafood. but it fails when the chef gets too inventive. friendly, knowledgeable service.

awesome!. i've been here twice now and thoroughly impressed both times. the selection ofoystersis phenomenal and the prices are reasonable. they're the only place around that carries west-coast kumamoto oysters, or the only one i've found so far. the entrees are great - i had the monkfish - excellent. service is great. just an overall great experience. we will be back

bad service, good food, will try again. bad stuff first: i asked to be seated upstairs as i'd heard it was quieter, but with 2 empty tables it was still so loud i had to yell. server said they got jammed up because "everyone came in at once" but party of 2 next to me (me and 1 dining companion) got app. and hot entree before we got our food. there was a party of 10 but we ordered before them. the food took forever, and our server never checked on us. the good stuff: food was all very good, though not amazing (as others have reported) - in my opinion.oysters(raw and cooked) were excellent . beet salad was nicely presented, fresh and tasty. thankfully, there were no chives on my lobster roll, as mentioned in a previous review, as this would not be traditional. one odd item: quahogs on the raw bar - they are large clams usually chopped up for chowder cuz they get chewy. the menu is full of healthy options (raw bar, seafood salads, side of asparagus) and will satisfy those looking for fried seafood too (fried whole belly clams, fish and chips). i am a new englander so i was really looking forward to a good seafood place in charm city. i will try it again as hosts and other servers seemed friendly and attentive.

we're actually leaving now and we like theoysterssome were $1.50-2.75 a piece we had 8 total. he ordered beef tenderloin which he said was good minus the side item of cream like spinach. i had cape cod fluke, fish was fair, but the squash sauce w/wheat berries i'd pass. our meal took i over 40mins, others came after us had there food before us, the waiter aplogized. we said we werent happy, she offered dessert on the house, we declined, paid, and the end. not going back i rather eat at sullivans which is near the harbor and worth the money

great drinks and food. i've gone several times now and always had a nice experience. my friends and i always sit at the bar and we never get thirsty because the bartenders are on top of it...it is very important to keep an eye on your customers. we always order several dishes and share. so far we've had the lobster roll, lobster salad, fish n chips, rawoystersand md crab soup. though i'd prefer more crab in the soup versus short rib...it was good. everything we had was great.

it is one of my favorite places to stop in down in fells.
