thai chef's restaurant

my wife and i had a beautiful evening at the thai chef in onekawa - our first visit there.
the whole experience reminded us of our holiday in bangkok, it really was an authentic thai restaurant. the staff werefriendlyyet courteous and the food was excellent. service was quick, no delays and well presented.
we will definitely be taking our overseas visitors there to enjoy a super night out.

(we did have one very slight problem in reading the beautiful colourful menu, due to the writing being white & small against a fancy background and with our ageing eyesight it was quite difficult to read in some parts).

looking forward to many more such evenings! :-)

i went there with some friends, good service,friendlystaff. is a very nice place to eat. they have variety of food. nice clean place. :) :)

went with a group of 8 for a booked dinner.  we had attentive andfriendlyservice. everyone enjoyed their meals. i had chicken green curry which i try at every thai place as it is my favourite and was pleased. it was fragrant and hot, just as i expected.  we had no real wait for our meals and had a lovely evening.
definitely returning as are others in the group.  thank you for a great night.

we had a party of 18 adults who dined at thai chef new plymouth last night 30.10.2014. would like to say from start to finish we had exceptional service. the wait staff were onto us very quickly to take our drink and food orders and were professional,friendlyand efficient. we were all very impressed as all our meals were received by us within about 10 mins of each other when they started coming. would highly recommend to anyone wanting a true authentic thai dining experience.

my husband and i had a large group of friends had heard of this place and really wanted to go. we requested to be picked up (a service available to large groups) the young man driving was veryfriendlyi must comment! a true delight. slim young man with a beautiful aburn beard.

anyhow, the food was amazing! such a vast array of flavours, heats, colours and tastes. very very nice.

the decor was a bit aged, needing some upkeep.

staff very friendly, however, the owner decided to greet us as we were eating our meals, asking how everything was going, etc, etc. he went on and on and on and put us right off our meals. he stayed for the entire duration of our meals, even pulled up a chair! ruined our evening!

however, we had the pleasure of having the same young man deliver us home which made up for it ha ha.

i cannot recommend thai chef restaurant enough. my friends and i eat there frequently and have found not only the food fantastic but also the service is without doubt absolutely wonderful. kay been head waiter is a joy, friendly, professional and sees to our every need. unplanned outings we are seated and never have to wait even when they are full to capacity which is just about every night. delicious food and wonderfulfriendlyservice. can't ask for more. thank you thai chef
