teppanya, for me, is the best japanese dining place in the south!

located at the 2nd level of evia, teppanya occupies 2 floors and has a seating capacity for 100 people. they have teppanyaki tables that seats 10-12 people each. the top floor consists of 3 rooms that are available for reservation, ideal for business meetings and gatherings.

for starters, we got to try their signature appetizer chawanmushi (p395), truffle topped with foie gras and tobiko, a plate of kani salad (p255) --the first-ever salad i've ever finished, btw, and tuna tataki (p265),  which consists of medium fatty tuna slices, best dipped on ponzu sauce, my new favorite! another star was their usuyaki beef roll (p295) with enoki mushrooms (better than bacon! was not aware there exists such thing!). of course, their ebi tempura (p415 for 6pcs, p215 for 3pcs) was not something to forget. other than shrimp is my ultimate seafood fave, theirs is one i wish i can get in big bowls!

teppanya not only serve good food --they serve it with style! really, you won't notice you're stuffed because of the entertainment the chef provides for every table. one spotlight goes to their salt crusted oysters (p695 for 4pcs, p375 for 2pcs). cooked very delicately (not to mention entertainingly!), the oysters tasted fresh and indeed a one-of-a-kind seafood fare. and the other spotlight? a once-in-a-lifetime kobe experience, that is! imported from japan first-hand, this is one melt-in-your-mouth, humble dish that's bound to make your heart skip a beat --and dream about it every night even weeks after! lol not kidding

for dessert, we had their banana flambé (p195), sliced bananas topped with vanilla ice cream and tempura flakes. yes, tempura flakes. weird and i don't know how, but it worked!

overall, teppanya offers authentic japanese dining, great teppanyaki experience, and an equal dose of entertainment.

white shrimp. one of the most artistic preparations and displays i've ever seen. also tasted great. 5/5

beef belly. a bit salty but very savory. sides of onions and eggplant. 5/5

chahan. super satisfying to get watch the preparation. crazy show. very good. peppery. 5/5

service. absolutely great. you feel like your attending a cooking show. i was licking my fingers cuz the food taste good and they rush out with tissues. beverages were never empty. the chef is very engaging and funny. he shaped our chahan into a heart (datenight) before the final prep. you pretty much only need to call for ur bill because the staff here attend to all ur needs before you can ask. i went out to smoke and the waiter came out and gave me lighter. staff here does an awesome job and food is delicious.

it was a great experience trying their japanese food. from the appetizer up to the dessert was really good. not to mention that they prepare/cook some of it in front of you! (which is so awesome!!) in addition to the yummy food; they have a very nice ambience and friendly staff. it's really great that we have this kind of resto now in the south! something that is worth coming back for!

great japanese food with excellent service :d we will definitely go back to this place!! beef is tender and the seafood is fresh.... japanese experience in fine dining.. worth the price!!

it was great dining experience at teppanya. food were carefully prepared, staff are very attentive, the flambe' experience was awesome! it feels great that we have teppanya in the south, definitely worth coming back!

never in alabang area have i tasted a authentic japanese food which i would keep returning too the chefs are entertaining the waiting staffs are friendly the food was delicious it was definitely worth the money i encourage you to visit the place and experience it for yourself

my experience in teppanya, evia branch was priceless. they served the best dishes especially the one with authentic kobe beef. they amused us, their guests with their unique style of having cooked the dishes in front of us with its awesome game flame. i really like their unique style of entertainment and the food ofcourse.

my stay in teppanya was great. there was absolutely nothing bad to point out. their set was absolutely divine. the experience of having the chef cook (and show his skills) in front of you was very entertaining. 

my personal favorites are: chawanmushi, wagyu, salt crust oyster, emperor's chahan, and usuyaki beef.

i tried their emperor set. although it's pricey, the food they'll serve is very delicious.

dine and be entertained at the same time. flames from their on the spot cooking add up to the entire dining experience. food is superb! staff are courteous and warm. definitely a 5/5 rating. share the experience with your family and friends!

trying out a new restaurant is something i'm not fond of doing, i'd usually just go eat somewhere familiar.. with teppanya it was simply a great experience for a first timer. the food was amazingly delicious! left the restaurant completely satisfied. the crew as well were nice and pleasant.
