outstanding. this was my secondtimehere and it was as delicious as the first! the service is excellent, and the food is amazing. the burgers, both beef and bison are absolutely amazing. tender, juicy, never mealy or dry, perfectly seasoned. the varieties are so awesome that it makes it hard to decide what to get! if you like iceberg wedges, ted's makes the best iceberg wedge in town! perfectly crisp and smokey bacon pieces, nicely ripened tomato chunks, crispy iceberg and a really good blue cheese dressing-simple and delicious. no one makes a wedge as good as ted's. i definitely recommend this place-it is awesome!

solid four. ted's is on the higher side of casual dining with an unpretentious vibe. sort of reminds me of places i've been out west, san antonio so many years ago. jyes, bison's on the menu.

love the space, the feeling. everyone was especially nice front to back. popped in thistimefor drinks and snacks so we sat at the bar ...all the way down unnecessarily for whatever reason open facing the line cooks, which was actually fun because they sort of indulged us with soft interest like sitting in with the chef. was fun. burger came to order spot on, good luck with that elsewhere.

been in a number of times passing through town over the years, sort of look forward to it. we need you in orlando.

in the area on business, firsttimedining at ted's. my bison cheeseburger was both tender and juicy. had it medium/medium rare range. fries were not crisp as i like them, either under cooked or had been sitting for while. service was good, not easy to find parking though.

i think ted’s has become large for several reasons but one has to be that the food is quite tasty. after having a phenomenal bison burger the week before, me and my partner were craving another good one. we had a hardtimefinding a place that offered them, but teds had a full menu of burgers in which any could be made into a bison burger.
this one really hit the spot. the meat was of great quality and the cooks did it justice. cooked perfectly and it was really filling. i ordered a spicier version of their burgers and the japapenos, pepper jack cheese, onion straws, and other additions just added a great flavor to it as well.
i would definitely go back. it was great quality at a reaso

quite impressed. never having been to ted's montana grill, i had no expectations. sure, i knew they served bison, but i figured that was their gimmick. well, i was quite impressed. first, the layout is like a 1900's train car, with private booths lining both sides and open tables down the center; my wife and i chose a booth. wood paneling was everywhere, and we were able to talk in quiet tones even as the tables filled up later into the evening. the soft light put out by the classy lamp provided an intimate feel.

the server, michael, brought out pickles and then lemon slices for our water. the pickles were amazing -- somehow salty, sweet, and sour, but not overwhelming. i know that lemon slices are expensive (much cheaper to put one slice on the glass), so i was starting to get an appreciation for the classiness of the place.

we ordered an appetizer, the bison nachos. now i'm no fan of nachos, as usually they are drowning in one ingredient or the other, and rarely look appetizing. not so with these. not only did they taste fantastic, but each the ingredients were evenly distributed over the chips. in short, somebody cared about how the food looked and the eating experience. the bison was slightly sweeter meat than i'm used to, but it was delicious. we both noticed how fresh and natural everything tasted; the sour cream tasted identical to the organic sour cream we've had.

my wife ordered the no. 11; i ordered the bison ribs. in short, both were excellent. on mine, the meat was falling off the bone; the meat was succulent and appropriately seasoned with bbq sauce, though it could have had a little bit more. i also ordered a mixed drink, which was awesome once i remembered to drink from the bottom and it was cut with lemonade, which the server brought by at no extra charge.

also, i do not like mashed potatoes. however, the gravy was so good that i was able to douse the mashed potatoes in it and ate it all. the carrots were also good; my wife loved the broccoli and her burger. after dinner, we had a desert, which was the oatmeal raisin cookie over vanilla ice cream. i have never had an oatmeal raisin cookie with ice cream before, but i could not imagine one without it now; the two tastes and textures complimented each other perfectly and were the perfect finish to a fantastic meal.

our server knew the food, was attentive, personable and friendly. also, we arrived early around five. by thetimewe left, the line extended out the door down to the benches. ted's makes no bones about the fact that they serve american food; and you can sense a taste of pride in what they do and where they come from.

our bill ran into the $70s, but it was worth every penny. highly recommended.

good bison burger! service could have been better.. came in to ted's for my firsttimethis evening (girlfriend took me for my birthday dinner).

ordered the george's cadillac bison burger which i must say was very good. this was my firsttimehaving bison and i must say it did not disappoint.

the service was mediocre at best. the restaurant was a little crowded but there shouldn't be a point where you wait 20-25 minutes to try to order a drink (liquor) or get the dessert menu. after about 20-25 minutes of trying to make eye contact with our waiter, the manager ended up walking by and asked how the food/service was. we bit our tongues and just asked for the dessert menu.

we also ordered the kahlua brownie dessert. the chocolate is extremely rich and the brownie is very cold. if you are looking for a hot milk chocolate brownie fudge sunday type deal this is not it! it wasn't bad but not what we were hoping for either.

we told them it was my birthday and they didn't do anything. bring your own cake/candle/singers if that is what your looking for!

overall since i did enjoy the food i would probably come back. i would want to come during lunch on a weekday just in case. had there been better service i know that i would come back and recommend it to friends. if asked about the bison burgers i would definitely say they are good. also if given good service we probably would have spent roughly $15 more (on drinks). we may have just gotten the bad apple server on the worst day possible.

bad service; good food. we have had many good experiences at tmg but tonight was the exception. we were seated promptly and then things went down hill. first our server (ben) failed to bring the "signature ice box pickles" - when we asked he stated that he had forgotten but that he would bring them right back - he never brought them. we ordered our appetizer which ben delivered to the table promptly - that was the lasttimehe came to our table until after we had finished our meal. he was at the next table talking about the 'glycemic index and other prattle' for over 15 minutes. at one point he kind of peeked around but did not ask if we needed anything. i got tired of waiting and went to the bar to ask for an iced tea - ben either didn't see or didn't care. our food was delivered by runners and plates cleared buy the same but, they did not ask if we needed anything. there was a man in a blue shirt (the manager???) but i never saw him go to any tables. when ben finally decided to grace us with his presence we told him the service was extremely poor and to just bring our check. (my husband had wanted another drink and we were considering dessert but decided just to pay and leave). i cannot remember ever not leaving a tip but, this service was so poor we did not. oh, he did bring the pickles "to go" but it was a day late and a dollar short in my opinion.

nice place. i had a feeling that ted's might be a bit upscale for the way i was dressed, but it was right off the interstate, and given limited nearby choices seemed compelled to try.

the space seemed as formal as an old ny or hollywood steakhouse, but none of the other diners were dressed to the nines. i had never seen a chain with such a nice buildout, but loved the atmosphere.

i don't know if there are enough locations to technically be a chain, but for all intensive purposes it is chain fare. chain fare that is done done well. i can't swear that the caesar dressing was homemade, but it had a taste of fresh lemon that just can't come from a bottle. the burger was actually cooked mid rare to temp, and cheese was melted. the burger is not an alltimefavorite, but this place is hands and feet above other chains.

after seeing the popularity in tallahassee we were looking forward to our visit to teds while coming through town. the waiter was excited to tell is the bison shirt ribs were on the menu today even though it was not saturday. my wife's burger was perfectly cooked. as i tasted my mashed potato and green beans they were cold. sent back to return again not much warmer. 3 rdtimewas much better. by thetimemy meal was served my wife was finished. the waiter and manager both apologized and comped supper. however i feel like our visit could have been much better if the food was hot! don't know if i'll give them a second chance nexttimethrough town.

a great burger and rings. teds is a great addition to a city the size of tallahassee. the burgers and onion rings are some of the best i ever ate. this place gets busy and sometimes folks need to keep that in mind and come out on a week night if you are in a big hurry. prices are right in line if you don't go crazy.

they serve coca cola in a glass bottle and those pickles are sooo good. built like an oldtimebuilding with great ambiance. you really feel like your in a destination.

bartender said we just missed seeing ted there once and his son comes in often. he does things right, his name is on the door.

hasn't disappointed (after 5 visits), and 20 miles each way.. having been a longtime(well 2 years) bison lover after watching an exotic foods show, realizing the health benefits (people this stuff is lower in fat that some fish) and realizing it tastes much like the beef, which i gave up eating 15 years ago. i figured i'd give it a shot and haven't turned back since.

it was hard finding a place that has good bison burgers but ted's is that place. in fact i've been to 3 different places closer to my home (columbia, md) but found ted's to be worth the 20 mile drive (one-way) to crystal city/pentagon city in arlington for the best bison burgers i've ever experienced.

the burgers are thick. oddly enough, the firsttimei went the burger was huge, the other 4 times it had shrunk. they always ask "is this your firsttimehere" maybe that's because they give you a big burger the firsttimeto keep you hooked. :) i'm just speculating.

the bison burgers won't disappoint, the fries are homemade (fresh-cut) skin still on them, no added seasoning or coating, but they taste grrrrrreat. the lemonade is perfect too. always freshly squeezed and no matter whattimeof day i come the lemonade is consistently good. never too sweet, never too strong or watered down, always just right. but then again, the food in general has been very consistent. never a cold burger (or cold fries),

back to the bison burger, whatever health benefits are gained by picking bison due to its low low fat content, is surely negated by the bun they give you which is obviously thrown on a grill with butter to toast the bottom. that plus the fries makes up for that fat you would have saved yourself. but let's face it, we're not here for low fat content, we're here to grub down!

about the service, there has never been atimewhere i had poor service. in fact the 5 times i've been there, i was served by the same waiter twice, and anothertimethe same waitress twice, and a third person once. eachtimethey were great, pleasant nice attitudes never an issue. i typically go on saturday afternoons, and once on a thursday night about 7pm. those saturday afternoons the line was non-existent, i was immediately seated. thetimei went on a thursday night, i waited for at least 30 minutes. so if you're not into waiting try the food out on a saturday afternoon first.

return visit. we just had a retirement lunch here last week. i ordered the fish sandwich which came with fries & coleslaw and i have to say i really liked the fish. it was fried just right with a nice crunchy crispy coating. it was expensive thought $17. however that could be because it was a huge party of us.

-----05 may, 2009-----

it's okay. nothing to write home about the firsttimei ate here was when it first opened up and i had the meatloaf which in my opinion tasted like dog food. the thursday special is 'slow pulled pork' it was okay but, i won't order it again. there was some spice that was added during either the marinated or cooking process that i didn't care for. the green beans and french fries are good. get the onion rings they are good just a bit greasy sometimes. i like the tomato & onion salad, they call it salad but it doesn't have lettuce. however, only get this when tomatoes are in season otherwise they're green. the chili is also tasty and good for a chilly day. the burgers and chicken grill are very good with a slew of toppings.

you get complimentary pickles. however, i don't care for them it like a brine pickle.

fresh squeezed lemon-aide however, beware it's a per glass charge. sodas come with crushed ice and a paper straw.

note worthy: adults can order off the kids menu you just have to add a $1 to the price.
