instant potatoes. neighborhood grill goes downhill is my review of ted's montana grill. service is spotty....but the instant mashed potatoes served as real mashed potatoes is the last straw...in fact straw would've tasted better!
not interested in goingbackfor awhile....better food at cracker barrel and the service there is better.

good bison burger! service could have been better.. came in to ted's for my first time this evening (girlfriend took me for my birthday dinner).

ordered the george's cadillac bison burger which i must say was very good. this was my first time having bison and i must say it did not disappoint.

the service was mediocre at best. the restaurant was a little crowded but there shouldn't be a point where you wait 20-25 minutes to try to order a drink (liquor) or get the dessert menu. after about 20-25 minutes of trying to make eye contact with our waiter, the manager ended up walking by and asked how the food/service was. we bit our tongues and just asked for the dessert menu.

we also ordered the kahlua brownie dessert. the chocolate is extremely rich and the brownie is very cold. if you are looking for a hot milk chocolate brownie fudge sunday type deal this is not it! it wasn't bad but not what we were hoping for either.

we told them it was my birthday and they didn't do anything. bring your own cake/candle/singers if that is what your looking for!

overall since i did enjoy the food i would probably come back. i would want to come during lunch on a weekday just in case. had there been better service i know that i would comebackand recommend it to friends. if asked about the bison burgers i would definitely say they are good. also if given good service we probably would have spent roughly $15 more (on drinks). we may have just gotten the bad apple server on the worst day possible.

excellent all around!. i recently visited the tallahassee area and decided to try ted's because we don't have onebackhome in pensacola. from the location to the look of the place.. to the food to the drinks and even our server.. everything was excellent. i won't say it was the most inexpensive place i have ever eaten, but it was well worth every cent. will definitely return when in the area. the bison ribeye was fantastic and tender and i dont care that the crabcake was $13.. it was good! if you are disappointed..you must be a vegan.

i am someone who is ultra critical of every restaurant because i've worked and managed them for 15 years. not only is the food here great, the manager, bobby brown, was able to quell the swelling poopy pants in my 5 yr old by providing a "substitute" sauce when they didn't have what the little princess wanted. he really saved our night after a long day of sight seeing. come here for the food, comebackfor the amazing service!

what a big disappointment.. service was poor: slow, forgetting to take main order, forgetting to bring side items until well too late(i.e. dinner rolls 10-15 minutes after main course, missing sour cream, ...). bake potatoes where cold, sentbackand replaced with other cold potatoes. a pint of draft beer is served in a 12oz glass. this was evident as a bottled beer is served with the same "pint" glass which fills the glass to the same level as a so called pint draft.

food quality, other than being served cold, was fair, but clearly not what i would call top rate. clearly over priced for what one gets. it is a travesty that a salad is not included with a $25-$35 entree.
i will not be returning.

our first visit to tmg in august 2012 was not that good, cold sides and poor service, to which the manager rectified. we wentbacktonight to give it another try. we have been prime rib lovers for many years and by far we had the best prime rib along the east coast. it was so tender, we barely needed at knife. if we had any complaints it would be the saltiness of the shrimp appetizer which also came with 5 shrimp and left us fighting over 1 shrimp. please give people an even amt. lastly, a little more of the wonderful ranch dressing on salads. i like my broccoli cooked to tender, but my husband was good with it hard. even though hard, it was hot and had a smokey flavor. when i go back, i know how to order, less salt on shrimp, extra dressing, and cooked my broccoli more. the prime rib was perfecto and the service was very good.

excellent service - modest prices. i dine at steakhouses so often for work that it is always a pleasant surprise when a restaurant gets it right. excellent, knowledge waitstaff (especially on their liquors). the steak had a thicker crust than i expected, but inside was exactly medium rare as ordered. for the modest price and good food, i will definitely bebacksoon.

bad service; good food. we have had many good experiences at tmg but tonight was the exception. we were seated promptly and then things went down hill. first our server (ben) failed to bring the "signature ice box pickles" - when we asked he stated that he had forgotten but that he would bring them rightback- he never brought them. we ordered our appetizer which ben delivered to the table promptly - that was the last time he came to our table until after we had finished our meal. he was at the next table talking about the 'glycemic index and other prattle' for over 15 minutes. at one point he kind of peeked around but did not ask if we needed anything. i got tired of waiting and went to the bar to ask for an iced tea - ben either didn't see or didn't care. our food was delivered by runners and plates cleared buy the same but, they did not ask if we needed anything. there was a man in a blue shirt (the manager???) but i never saw him go to any tables. when ben finally decided to grace us with his presence we told him the service was extremely poor and to just bring our check. (my husband had wanted another drink and we were considering dessert but decided just to pay and leave). i cannot remember ever not leaving a tip but, this service was so poor we did not. oh, he did bring the pickles "to go" but it was a day late and a dollar short in my opinion.

after seeing the popularity in tallahassee we were looking forward to our visit to teds while coming through town. the waiter was excited to tell is the bison shirt ribs were on the menu today even though it was not saturday. my wife's burger was perfectly cooked. as i tasted my mashed potato and green beans they were cold. sentbackto return again not much warmer. 3 rd time was much better. by the time my meal was served my wife was finished. the waiter and manager both apologized and comped supper. however i feel like our visit could have been much better if the food was hot! don't know if i'll give them a second chance next time through town.

the onion rings were great, my kitchen sink bison burger was great, but my wife's pecan crusted trout needed a lot of work. i would comebackfor the burgers.

bison is definitely the reason to come. the burger was more flavorful than the meat loaf. service was average. i would definitely gobackwhen my next beer and lean burger craving hits so long as have a few extra dollars to burn.

hasn't disappointed (after 5 visits), and 20 miles each way.. having been a long time (well 2 years) bison lover after watching an exotic foods show, realizing the health benefits (people this stuff is lower in fat that some fish) and realizing it tastes much like the beef, which i gave up eating 15 years ago. i figured i'd give it a shot and haven't turnedbacksince.

it was hard finding a place that has good bison burgers but ted's is that place. in fact i've been to 3 different places closer to my home (columbia, md) but found ted's to be worth the 20 mile drive (one-way) to crystal city/pentagon city in arlington for the best bison burgers i've ever experienced.

the burgers are thick. oddly enough, the first time i went the burger was huge, the other 4 times it had shrunk. they always ask "is this your first time here" maybe that's because they give you a big burger the first time to keep you hooked. :) i'm just speculating.

the bison burgers won't disappoint, the fries are homemade (fresh-cut) skin still on them, no added seasoning or coating, but they taste grrrrrreat. the lemonade is perfect too. always freshly squeezed and no matter what time of day i come the lemonade is consistently good. never too sweet, never too strong or watered down, always just right. but then again, the food in general has been very consistent. never a cold burger (or cold fries),

back to the bison burger, whatever health benefits are gained by picking bison due to its low low fat content, is surely negated by the bun they give you which is obviously thrown on a grill with butter to toast the bottom. that plus the fries makes up for that fat you would have saved yourself. but let's face it, we're not here for low fat content, we're here to grub down!

about the service, there has never been a time where i had poor service. in fact the 5 times i've been there, i was served by the same waiter twice, and another time the same waitress twice, and a third person once. each time they were great, pleasant nice attitudes never an issue. i typically go on saturday afternoons, and once on a thursday night about 7pm. those saturday afternoons the line was non-existent, i was immediately seated. the time i went on a thursday night, i waited for at least 30 minutes. so if you're not into waiting try the food out on a saturday afternoon first.
