good but not great. i have no complaints but i can't rave about thisplaceeither - it's just okay. the waffles don't actually taste as good as they look but they're alright. went for sunday brunch and the service was fine. the 'chicken and waffle' is literally a piece of chicken and a waffle on the side with a tiny bit of salad - sort of weird for breakfast but maybe some folks like that. i've had better but i wouldn't say "no" if someone offered to take me here again.

so i chose thisplaceon my first visit to cinci due to the food network visit. well i must say my wife and i enjoyed the breakfast immensely. she had the ham and brie which she absolutely enjoyed, the perfect mix of sweet and savory. i had the shrimp and grits. the waffle was a cheesy grit waffle, tasty with sweet shrimp very nice touch. we shared the poutin, cheese curds with a gravy that had small cube of beef that was so tasty and tender. a fantastic breakfast/brunch to close out our visit to cincinnati.

tried a couple of times for breakfast and coffee, really goodplacefor omelette and waffles. good portion sizes, liked their waffles especially the ricotta cream one. their oatmeal cookies were good, wish they had them without the icing

recently took a trip to cincinnati and this was aplacei'd heard raving reviews about. i got the classic chicken and waffles and it was nothing short of delicious. however, our experience with our server was less than satisfactory. i get that it gets busy at times but that's no excuse to make us wait 10 minutes for waters. overall it was a great experience and would recommend.

thisplaceis so unique, nothing else like it in cincinnati. i am a beer geek and this is my favoriteplaceto try beers. any true beer lover knows the importance and reputation of belgian beer. i just freak out when i see all these varieties on tap. i am so used to only having them in bottles.  the quality of this type of beer is second to none and the flavors and experience of drinking belgian style beer is delightful. so, i really respect thisplacefor providing the massive amount of choices for international and local beers.  so they have the alcohol and atmosphere nailed. the food follows suit as well. they have a really good waffle. it is good alone or with the other dishes they offer it with. fried chicken, sandwiches, burgers, all made with waffles. it sounds crazy, but its so good. they also have the best pastry case i have seen locally. thisplacealways makes me happy. i have not tried everything they have, but nearly everything i have tried has been unique and delicious. also the brunch here is better than most breakfast places i have tried. the waffle sandwiches and french toast are superb to most of the typical places offerings. i am ready for the norwood store to open since i live in hyde park. hurry up taste of belgium! last time i went i had a waffle with bananas and nutella. i now think of it on a daily basis. damn, i forgot to mention their fries, so good.

went here recently and had a terrible experience. it was at peak hours, told it was a 40 minute wait for a party 8. we were fine with the wait time as we really wanted to try it. after waiting an hour or more, management told us that they couldn't seat all 8 of us together. when we told staff how discouraged we were, their response was to "play musical chairs" with each other. too many hipsters and pretentious management holds thisplaceback.

love it! idk about these bad reviews.. went there for the first time a week ago for breakfast. i was able to get a table by the window. the restaurant has a relaxing vibe and interesting decor. i love the open kitchen where you can watch the chefs make waffles. i ordered the chicken & waffles. i was pleasantly surprised with the dish. the chicken had a sweet and spicy glaze and pairing it with the bleu cheese salad was genius. my waitress was very friendly and attentive.
i was so pleased i came back a few days later for a carryout lunch. i arrived 20 minutes before closing and no one made me feel rushed or unwanted. i sat at the bar and had a drink while i waited. the bartender was nice and efficient. on the way out i got to meet the chef.
went there again today for the chicken sandwich and it is amazballs! the chef i met last visit greeted me, took my order, and kept me posted on the status of my order. it took less than 15 minutes and everyone there is so friendly. thisplaceis definitely one of my favs!!!

no sunday brunch!. went to the restaurant today, very busy and loud. long wait for food. some of the food that arrived did not arrive as ordered but not sent back because of the long wait. this could be a goodplaceto eat but they need to work on pleasing their customers. the waitress we had seemed to be irritated about the order being wrong. would not recommend coming here with a large group.

nope. i will be upfront and say downtown isn't my scene, but thisplaceonly proves my point.
the building is interesting, our waiter was pleasant. the food took forever to show up and honestly, i wish it hadn't made it at all. i had a crepe with frites. my dining companion had the chicken and waffles. i don't know what the holdup was, but i am guessing it wasn't the crepe or frites....stone cold. the waffle had the consistency of a bagel and the chicken had a weird spice combination coupled with shakenbake type coating. the waffle was accompanied with about 1 tablespoon of syrup, so no chance of drowning out any of the flavor. we left over 3/4 of the food on the plate. not worth toting home.
the experience was capped off when someone from the kitchen stopped by the table (tightly) wedged next to ours and chatted with an old acquaintance for over 20 minutes while her rear end was at my shoulder.
all that and the opportunity to pay for parking as well. yay!

maybe breakfast and lunch are better. went last night after dinner at a tavola, which is great btw. we were looking for a cool dessert. after all, there is a thousand great things you can do with waffles for dessert. theplacewas only half full at 6 which was surprising. we were seated quickly and the staff was attentive and friendly. the dessert menu was very limited. the one smore waffle was tepid at best when we got it. we were told all the waffles are made in the morning and then they just warm them up. i am not a chef, but if i owned a waffleplaceand had all those waffle irons, i would make them fresh. the marshmallow was cold and had a burned butane flavor to it. all in all we were not impressed. looking at the menu it seemed a bit pricey comapared to other places in the area. i have had their waffles at the market. there they were fresh and cheaper. good luck to them though. we love to see the comeback otr is making.

goodplacefor brunch. the food was great. the waffles everyone raves about were truly top notch. i would like to try another dish or two here sometime. it was a pretty positive dining experience. i can imagine pointing theplaceout to others looking for good food and some of the best waffles in town.
it is a little pricey, but the atmosphere was great and the service was good as well.

the huge front windows give it a european, cosmopolitan feel, good for relaxing and people watching. it was a strange feeling, seeing people walk past that i know, and people inside i know, theplacefeels like its been there for years already.
