this place is so unique, nothing else like it in cincinnati. i am abeergeek and this is my favorite place to try beers. any truebeerlover knows the importance and reputation of belgian beer. i just freak out when i see all these varieties on tap. i am so used to only having them in bottles.  the quality of this type ofbeeris second to none and the flavors and experience of drinking belgian stylebeeris delightful. so, i really respect this place for providing the massive amount of choices for international and local beers.  so they have the alcohol and atmosphere nailed. the food follows suit as well. they have a really good waffle. it is good alone or with the other dishes they offer it with. fried chicken, sandwiches, burgers, all made with waffles. it sounds crazy, but its so good. they also have the best pastry case i have seen locally. this place always makes me happy. i have not tried everything they have, but nearly everything i have tried has been unique and delicious. also the brunch here is better than most breakfast places i have tried. the waffle sandwiches and french toast are superb to most of the typical places offerings. i am ready for the norwood store to open since i live in hyde park. hurry up taste of belgium! last time i went i had a waffle with bananas and nutella. i now think of it on a daily basis. damn, i forgot to mention their fries, so good.

bad attitude. i will not be returning to this overrated restaurant based on the attitude we got from the bartender. this young man did not know the beers on hand and copped an attitude when i had questions about the belgianbeerselection. secondly, my partner ordered a vodka and soda and received a gin and tonic instead. this is not the problem because mistakes happen. my problem is that the bartender, if you can really call him that, questioned us, saying, "no, that's not possible; are you sure?" really? if i were not so tired i would have asked for a manager to put that bartender in his place. he did remake the drink, and it was fine. now onto the food. average at best mussels and frites, but we won't be giving them another shot based on the attitude. i will just grab a waffle at findlay market.

taste of belgium waffles are like none other in town. dense, crispy, sweet, and delicious. enjoyable on their own but even better as the foundation for a scrumptious brunch. the waffle station is one of our favorite stops at the cincinnati zoo’s annual fall zoo brew event. sam adamsbeerand belgium waffles, what more can you ask for! taste of belgium has been a resident of findlay market for some time and has recently started expanding their footprint in cincy. in october of 2011 they opened their bistro location at the corner of vine and 12th st. they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and of course their waffles are on the menu all day long. a full service bar is open late into the night with a variety of beer, wine, spirits and hot espresso. to turn up the heat on this bitter cold sunday morning we ordered up a waffle’n chicken which comes with the famous belgium waffle topped with ohio maple syrup and a huge piece of chicken fried chicken topped with tabasco sauce. whew, that’s so

this is a defenite bruch breakfast spot. its a clear hit with that and the belgianbeerselection. however dinner and lunch leaves something to be desired. this is defenitely indicated by how busy they are at night compared to the other otr\vine street places. go to one of the others if you want a great dinner then come here for brunch.

good food, good service. up until recently, i hadn't actually planned on going to taste of belgium bistro. i had tried their waffles at findlay market and didn't care for them a whole lot. however, some fellow foodies at the dog park i go to had highly recommended taste of belgium bistro so i figured that i'd give it a shot.
service was excellent. food came out in a reasonable time frame and the manager came over to check on us a few times.
thebeerselection is fantastic. i'm not much of a connoisseur when it comes tobeerso i just kind of randomly picked one - the chimay, and i liked it. it was very sweet and it came in it's own little goblet shaped glass. in fact, a lot of the beers they have on tap have their own glasses, which is a neat detail.
for our entrees, i ended up getting the "am-ber-gaire" (hamburger) and my girlfriend got the waffle n’ chicken. the burger was properly seasoned, cooked as i ordered, had a nice sweet roll type bun, and the ingredients on top (goat cheese, bacon, shallots) tasted great. the fries that came with it were okay (a bit on the soft side for me), but i really loved the accompanying chipotle mayo. my girlfriend found the waffle n' chicken to be very good. i'm not as much of a breakfast fan (hence the hamburger), so i defer to her judgment concerning breakfast items. the waffle was great and i think part of what made it as such was that it had syrup on it. this was what i was missing when i tried the waffle at findlay market. i guess perhaps the idea that waffles and syrup go together is so ingrained in me that i just can't enjoy a waffle by itself. either way, a good dish, and one that neither of us had tried before.
overall, i really enjoyed my experience at taste of belgium. if i lived in the area i'd probably come here regularly. the restaurant itself is chic and trendy, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. i would recommend to others and it is worth a bit of a drive to go to.

just go forbeerand waffles. a little too much hype for it's own good. they are aspiring to good things, but not quite making it happen. but - if you like belgianbeerand waffles, then go.

our appetizer was a chicken-mushroom-pastry thing that was good, but i usually love meat pies. my friend had belgian stew with belgian frites. the stew had an odd taste to it (not good for a mostly meat dish), but the fries were crispy. i picked chicken and waffles. the chicken is lightly breaded and just ok. the waffles were thick and great. you can tell this is where they put their love. i love belgian style beer, but i didn't feel like springing for $9 and up for one beer.

the service and atmosphere was good. we had no wait on a weekday evening and it wasn't crowded. the bathrooms were clean

we went to try something different, but the flavors just were not there. maybe next time will just bebeerand waffles.

not sure why all the fuss but we like it. went there for lunch. got there 5 minutes before the line formed thank goodness. interesting place, interesting, if limited menu, but things you'll get nowhere else in cinci, and very popular at the moment apparently. friend had fricadelle which tasted like a burger to him. staff seemed a bit flustered. they forgot to bring my 2 meatballs at first, which along with some smashed potatoes cost about $15. but both selections were good. greatbeerselection which is way expensive too. i was in for about $25 for lunch. but people were waiting 30-40 min to do it, so all the power to the owner. all things considered, we enjoyed it and had a lot of fun trying food andbeerwe wouldn't get anywhere else, and to top it off the waitress threw in one of those yummy waffles for free to compensation for the mix ups.
