$10 for omelet of the day...?. i like tofb very much; it's one of my favorite spots in otr! i really enjoyed the first sunday brunch this week. my only complaint is $10 for an omelet; the omelet was great, but that's all it was-no potatoes, no fruit, no breakfast meat, no toast, no mini-salad with the lettuce, carrot & bleu cheese that the chicken & waffle plate gets, not even any garnish! if anything, instead of charging full price for a side, why not charge me a $1 upcharge to add a side? $10 is steep for a couple of eggs, some vegetables & a slice or two of cheese. food was great, but i felt a little ripped off.

oh man...honestly you might be able to cook a dirty boot in this sauce of butter, garlic and wine and i would probably eat it and ask for seconds, but thankfully for us instead of a boot we had these big and delicious pieces of escargot. after we finished them there was lots of bread soaking to soak up all the last drips of their delicious sauce.

very good. we went last night (saturday) for dinner. we got a table right away. service was excellent. we got the fondue (adult cheeses sticks as they called them), then i got chicken and waffles and wife got boulets à la liégeoise. both were very good. really nice selection of belgian beers on tap and bottles. we got dessert to go as we were too full to eat it. we'll definitely be back.

the huge front windows give it a european, cosmopolitan feel, good for relaxing and people watching. it was a strange feeling, seeing people walk past that i know, and people inside i know, the place feels like its been there for years already.

not sure why all the fuss but we like it. went there for lunch. got there 5 minutes before the line formed thank goodness. interesting place, interesting, if limited menu, but things you'll get nowhere else in cinci, and very popular at the moment apparently. friend had fricadelle which tasted like a burger to him. staff seemed a bit flustered. they forgot to bring my 2 meatballs at first, which along with some smashed potatoes cost about $15. but both selections were good. great beer selection which is way expensive too. i was in for about $25 for lunch. but people were waiting 30-40 min to do it, so all the power to the owner. all things considered, we enjoyed it and had a lot of fun trying food and beer we wouldn't get anywhere else, and to top it off the waitress threw in one of those yummy waffles for free to compensation for the mix ups.

great food, but not the best service. i've been here three times and when it's busy some of the servers are a mess. i went today and after a 20 minute wait, a person at my table didn't get their coffee for another 10 minutes. a bit disappointing. the food is great, but be prepared to be there for a long long time

...we focused on the rather extensive list of features and sides, some of which may be a bit unfamiliar to the common cincinnati diner. my comment to karen while perusing was that the prices mostly seemed a bit high with everything a la carte.

their waffles are second-to-none and their crepes and other baked goodies are delicious too. so we were understandably giddy when we heard that jean-françois was expanding his empire once more to a full bistro in over the rhine. over the rhine has been going through an amazing transformation and it's newest addition, taste of belgium belgian bistro, fits in perfectly. the renovated interior is hip with high-top tables, bar seating, exposed brick, local art, wonderful deta

the frites were a thing of beauty. and who doesn't like saying frites. frites. something about that word is more uplifting then saying fries. the frites were crispy and on the shoe-string side served with a slightly tangy aioli sauce. i could eat that all day long in tub fulls!

if you're not already aware, the fries with chipotle mayo are habit-forming. i would be a strong supporter of tob installing a walk-up window that serves nothing but their fries 24/7.

i love europe. each year, the better half and i take our christmas savings and instead of buying each other gifts, we hop on a plane and fly to some combination of european countries. last year, we headed to brussels and paris. this year, we'll head to london and paris. so we've eaten at our share of european cafes in a variety of settings, and whenever we come back to cincinnati, we long for a similar experience. to be honest? we get a little homesick for paris in particular, and we're just looking for a fix for our next trip. jeanro bistro tried, but never quite got it right. other places have tried as well, but at no point have i felt like i was transported somewhere else for just a little while. jean-francois flechet, whose waffles i've been eating since he was a one-man stand at findlay recently opened a belgian-style cafe at the corner of 12th and vine in over-the-rhine. the number one factor in making a cafe feel european? put it in a neighborhood that has a bit of a european fe

a new favorite. my daughter and i went for lunch. i had the chicken and waffles (with a side of frites). my kid had just waffles (and some buckeyes).

make no mistake, these are the best fries in town. perfectly crispy. the chicken has a little hot sauce on it. the liege waffle has a little syrup. and sweet baby jesus do they all work together.

we have resolved to work our way through the entire menu.

wish they were open sundays!. i enjoy every thing about this place! it's not often that you see the owner behind the counter doing some of the dirty work. the only down side is coffee grinds in my cup. it's happened every time i've been in there. other than that, it's probably the best thing that's happened in the gateway area since a tavola.

it was everything i thought it would be. seasoned with hot sauce, the crispy chicken, syrup and sweet waffle all worked together, and i thought the bleu cheese, carrot and cucumber garnish were a nice touch.

i'm addicted. i've been to the new cafe in the gateway twice now and i'm impressed. i knew the waffles, then crepes and then baked goods from findlay were going to be hard to pass walking to work every day. in my two stops, the food has been great, service better than expected for a new establishment and the waffles are still just a great. great atmosphere, staff members that actually smile and tasty food.
