taranto's crawfish

bugs! (the good kind). my new favorite place for mudbugs. perfectly prepared, at a great price, good service. good divey atmosphere but wish they were on the water(or at least had a deck) and/or had live music. but then thefoodwould be more expensive, wouldn't it?

outstanding food, service and great prices.  i was not expecting the quality of the menu, service and amount offoodserved. clean and spacious dining area. great service.  i was on vacation and just found this great place   through my brother's advice. i will return!

seafood platter. greatfoodbut when i pay $23.00 for a platter of seafood i got 6 small shrimp, 6 small oysters and 1 small piece of fish, 1 crab cake. i know several people that has made these same comments about getting shorted on seafood there when ordering take out . also when i order seafood i dont care for 60% of myfoodbeing potatoes { vegetables } ? maybe taronto's will read this and beef up the oysters, shrimp and fish ?
what is desports phone number lets look it up for our next seafood platter see how much we get for our money there. all in all goodfoodnot worth what we pay for that amount.

great hole in the wall type place excellentfoodand portions. cindy our waitress was by far one of the best ever. provided remarkable customer service

great food. had a great meal with family in a family atmosphere. great localfoodand portions were good for the price. the servers were awsome. my glass was never empty.

so good. had the gumbo, crawfish poboy, dungeness crab, and boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes. hubby and i were stuffed and hadfoodleft over. too bad we live outta town or this would be on my weekly eatery trip list.

oh and the southern hospitality is fantastic. felt like we were regulars.

very overpriced for mediocre food. hole in the wall place tucked way out in woolmarket, thefoodisn't terrible- it's just mediocre and nothing to write home to maw or paw about, the portions are average for a seafood restaurant but the prices are ridiculous! the wait staff isn't very attentive or friendly, they act like they are super busy and barely have time for you with about 5 people in there, it's kind of funny to watch. had to ask for a refill twice even after the waitress walked passed me a couple times.
if this place was top notch eats then i wouldn't mind paying $25.00 for a roast beef poboy with a side of fries and a tiny drink but it's just average syscofoodwith a little tony's on top. the crawfish are good but everything else is average. i've had way betterfoodand cheaper prices with friendlier servers all over the coast. no reason to return.

awesome food. our good friends took us out to eat on a friday night. they have the best seafood around! i highly recommend trying their food. it's a "hole in the wall" kinda place, no need for really dressing up.....they have betterfoodthan the red lobster....i will definitely be visiting this place often(-:

good, but not exceptional. is how i would characterize thefoodwe had at taranto's. we had the fried seafood platter and the grilled shrimp salad and finished with bread pudding. the shrimp salad was very good and the shrimp had a distinctive flavor. my fried seafood platter was a mixed bag. the crab cake was very tasty, the breading complimented the crab and didn't hide the crab flavor. the fried oysters were oh so good, delicate, salty, and sweet. the fried shrimp were rather undistinguished. the one fillet of fried catfish was thin and overpowered by the frying, but the other was nice, plump, and sweet. tho' the breading on each was not very flavorful. the fries were ok, but plentiful. the bread pudding was ok, but again not exceptional. the service, tho', was exceptional, but they were not very busy on a saturday evening. the booths were kinda tight and 2 normal size people cannot sit across from each other. this first trip was good enough to warrant a follow-on to try some of the boiled seafood.

fun local experience. we chose this restaurant based on urban spoon reviews and were very pleased. the service is very friendly. all of thefoodwas good (shrimp poboys, shrimp platters, oysters), and the oysters were better than any we have had in new orleans the last two days. we were mildly disappointed that there was not an option for wine. we would certainly come again!

great crawfish. my wife and i love this place. as avid crawfish, crab, and shrimp eaters, this place beats all other boil places in the gulfport and biloxi area. the wait staff and thefoodare great combinations that make for a wonderful dining experience.
