taranto's crawfish

loved the craw fish. went there for an late lunch and i ordered the craw fish platter. reasonable price with a great taste. was a little out of the way to get there but is was totally worth it and was a wonderful environment.

so good. had the gumbo, crawfish poboy, dungeness crab, and boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes. hubby and i were stuffed and had food left over. too bad we live outta town or this would be on my weekly eatery trip list.

oh and the southern hospitality is fantastic. felt like we were regulars.

very overpriced for mediocre food. hole in the wall place tucked way out in woolmarket, the food isn't terrible- it's just mediocre and nothing to write home to maw or paw about, the portions are average for a seafood restaurant but the prices are ridiculous! the wait staff isn't very attentive or friendly, they act like they are super busy and barely have time for you with about 5 people in there, it's kind of funny to watch. had to ask for a refill twice even after the waitress walked passed me a couple times.
if this place was top notch eats then i wouldn't mind paying $25.00 for a roast beef poboy with a side of fries and a tiny drink but it's just average sysco food with a little tony's on top. the crawfish are good but everything else is average. i've had way better food and cheaper prices with friendlier servers all over the coast. no reason to return.

awesome. this place is a hole-in-the-wall in an out-of-the-way location. however, they have awesome food. i had the gumbo and a shrimp platter that was covered in shrimp.

taranto's was an excellent choice for our last meal on the coast. the fried seafood platter was great and bountiful. will definitely visit them again.

awesome food. our good friends took us out to eat on a friday night. they have the best seafood around! i highly recommend trying their food. it's a "hole in the wall" kinda place, no need for really dressing up.....they have better food than the red lobster....i will definitely be visiting this place often(-:

good, but not exceptional. is how i would characterize the food we had at taranto's. we had the fried seafood platter and the grilled shrimp salad and finished with bread pudding. the shrimp salad was very good and the shrimp had a distinctive flavor. my fried seafood platter was a mixed bag. the crab cake was very tasty, the breading complimented the crab and didn't hide the crab flavor. the fried oysters were oh so good, delicate, salty, and sweet. the fried shrimp were rather undistinguished. the one fillet of fried catfish was thin and overpowered by the frying, but the other was nice, plump, and sweet. tho' the breading on each was not very flavorful. the fries were ok, but plentiful. the bread pudding was ok, but again not exceptional. the service, tho', was exceptional, but they were not very busy on a saturday evening. the booths were kinda tight and 2 normal size people cannot sit across from each other. this first trip was good enough to warrant a follow-on to try some of the boiled seafood.

fun local experience. we chose this restaurant based on urban spoon reviews and were very pleased. the service is very friendly. all of the food was good (shrimp poboys, shrimp platters, oysters), and the oysters were better than any we have had in new orleans the last two days. we were mildly disappointed that there was not an option for wine. we would certainly come again!

good seafood. this little restaurant is not much but they can serve seafood done right. if you want to go out to eat without getting dressed up but still want good food, this is the place for you. we have been coming here for years and it just seems to get better. we thought after the original owner died, it may not be as good but it is still great.

back again 4th year in a row... crawfish is the best as usual! never disappointed!

best in biloxi!. for both the quality, and quantity taranto's has the best seafood around!!! every time i'm in biloxi, i always make it a point to eat here at least once during my stay!

great crawfish. my wife and i love this place. as avid crawfish, crab, and shrimp eaters, this place beats all other boil places in the gulfport and biloxi area. the wait staff and the food are great combinations that make for a wonderful dining experience.
