yeah, not so much...... in a cage full of tigers, the bobcat looks a lot less dangerous. syun was not horrible, but it was not worth the drive or money. if i lived next door, i might stop in once a quarter, but certainly not worth a 40 min drive.
the miso soup was watery and lacked miso flavor. the shrimp and veggie tempura was supremely disappointing with overcooked shrimp and raw potato. additionally, the breading was altogether too thick to be considered a tempura. the geoduck nigiri was horrible.sushimeans rice and the rice was horribly overcooked and actually overpowered the flavor and texture of the geoduck. i ate the second piece sans rice.
the california roll was decent, dare i say good, but this is likesushi101. the syun special roll, which contains 0 raw fish, was also quite nice, but was also a safe play. the octopus/cucumber salad was another high point, but was underseasoned and needed some salt.
all-in-all, not worth the drive or the money. we shall keep looking.sushiis a tough thing to do anywhere, but i feel like this place gets higher reviews because of the vacuum of decentsushiplaces in the area. i will not go back.
