syrup cherry creek

syrup or not?. ok, i love good food...and i like to try a new restaurant to see if its worth going back there and this place i would not go back because it was just alright. my friend told me about this place so we went to try it out and it was not. i was not impressed. i had the eggs the way you want them meal, which included eggs the way you want them, sausage, hashbrowns, and toast. i got the pancake instead of the toast and the pancake was good. it had a touch of cinnamon in it, that is how i make mine! the eggs was not the way i wanted them, i asked for scrambled eggs not hard and they where just too wet/moist, the hashbrowns and sausage where just ok. so on a scale from 6a's i would give them 3aaa's. the look of the place was cute but not cozy.

service was a disappointment, they drop the check right as they bring you your food, "what if i want more?" not to mention it makes us feel like they are pushing us out. we understand high volume but its clearly not up to service standards, not even american service. oh and no boos. food was decent. but we look at the whole picture. our napkins looked like they were preped with dirth hands

amazing brunch location. the snores french toast is the best in town. don't forget the mimosa, this just bring you the carafe so you don't have to waste time waiting for a refill.

tl dr: was great everything , now has bad service and hygiene

let me preface this with, this used to be my favorite breakfast resturant and the food is quite tasty.
i went in for breakfast with my girlfriend. we are seated right away and waitress walks up and say's "what can i get you" we start to order egg whites and she stops us "let me check if we have egg whites" we snickered at the prospect of a dedicated breakfast restaurant that boast about its eggs benedict being "out" of egg whites but sure enough she came back to inform us that they are out. confused we asked you have eggs? right? apparently they will make eggs poached, fried scrambled, over easy, sunny side up, or blanched, but egg whites are to much work when they are "busy", should state the latest this is 10 am on a monday morning and the restaurant is not even half full.
ultimately this would not be a big deal however it is the culmination of a steady decline of quality of service and hygiene. other times i have been in and watched the owner scoop ice with his bare hand.
it used to be a great place to go, as i said it was my favorite, but at this point it's not worth going back.

went there on a thursday morning just after they opened. the place was quiet. ordered the vegetable omelet and one pancake. the omelet was large and just so-so. the pancake was huge but fluffy, like eating air. delicious! service was a little slow for how slow they were but overall a good experience.

my favorite corned beef hash in town! i always come and order the cherry creeker. have noticed that the portions of meat tend to vary sometimes, but still love the dish. the restaurant isn't at ground level and feels a little dark as you walk down the steps, but they've done a great job with the space and it still feels open and bright. waits can get a little crazy on the weekend, but not as bad as at say snooze. this syrup doesn't serve booze, fyi. apparently they are too close to a school to have a liquor license. hit the one downtown if you need a bloody :)

the wait can be too long, but the food is very good. been here a few times. i've loved the pancakes and french toast. last time, my friend loved her omelette. i had a crab based special that i did not dislike nor love.

as far as naming a restaurant after a pancake topping, i suppose "syrup" has a slightly better connotation than "butter."
pretty good, if you like breakfast foods.

horrible service. empty eater glasses. incomplete orders. servers touching their faces and who can't refill your coffee even though there are 5 on duty and only two, two top tables. wow - awful.

first try at breakfast in denver, and i will be looking elsewhere next time. was hoping for some awesome pancakes/ french toast since the name of this joint implies that's their specialty. turns out the food is just ok. ironically the syrup was my least favorite part, they do have different kinds though. service wasn't great either which doesn't help. at least the wait wasn't long and the food wasn't overpriced.

i hate when restaurants do not pay attention to details in their food preparation and presentation. i ordered the cobb salad. silly me for expecting the standard good looking cobb as we all know it to be--chopped chicken or turkey, bacon, blue cheese, scallions, tomatoes or whatever, arranged in a pleasing, appetizing manner. or however one defines a cobb. this salad was served in a medium steel mixing bowl. the amount of ingredients was microscopic and were not to be seen. they had gravitated to the bottom of the bowl, i guess. it was depressing. my philosophy is that whatever food you are presented at a restaurant, should look better than if i were to throw it together myself at home. do not order this salad at this restaurant! it was a disappointment on all levels.

the french toast was great with some apple cinnamon syrup. service was friendly and fast.

too much food!!. i feel like the pancakes should come with a warning! i was not expecting the amount of food i was served. i only ate one and these drenched pancakes don't make great leftovers. it would be great if they offered them in singles.

that being said,
i eat gluten free and was impressed by the selection of amazing gluten free items. i can only speak for the apple cinnamon pancakes, but i would definitely return to try the french toast, english muffins, etc! the ambiance is very cool and i would highly recommend this restaurant - just know that you're in for a massive amount of food.

syrup is a must if ur in denver/cherry creek area. the banana foster french toast & n'awlins omelet was incredible. the atmosphere feels like ur eating in someone's dining room. very warm & friendly. owner & staff was great. had to wait about 15 min on sat morning but had free muffins & bottle water for everyone who was waiting. it's a must
