hidden gem!. so when i first drove by this place i never gave it a second look. it looks old on the outside and run down. i figured it was just someones dirty looking house. but i have been searching for a good thai restaurant for a while now so i thought i would give it a try.
service here is excellent!i was greeted with a smile right away. they were consistently refilling my drinks for me, and the food came out very quickly.
i started off with the thom yum soup to which i added noodles to. this was great! it was spicy and lemony all at the same time. unlike any other thom yum soup i have ever had. the broth is very thick, almost like the texture of tomato soup. it was filled with tons of mushrooms, seafood, and chicken.
i had a green curry with chicken, broccoli ,and snap peas. this was only ok when i was eating it in the restaurant but i noticed how much more the flavours came out when i reheated the left over the next day.
the coconut rice was fantastic, it was overpowering but just a nice light coconut scent and taste.
last thing i had here was the chicken pad thai. they gave nice big portions and it was very tasty. though, it could have been a bit more spicy.
overall, despite the appearance outside, i would come back again. there wasn't anything i did not like. everything was good.
reviews for this restaurant were pretty much all positive, and my boyfriend and i were looking for a thai restaurant close by, so we decided to be good urbanspoon sports, and give it a go. there was ample parking at the back of the building, which was very convenient. cheesy decorations, but off the bat friendly greeting, and service. we started with the meat spring rolls, and they were incredibly crunchy and delicious. my mom makes the best spring rolls, hands down, but these were a very close second. then we shared the chicken panang curry, and beef pad thai. both dishes were crazy spicy, and full of amazing exotic flavours, which immediately brought the both of us back to the streets of bangkok, where we fell in love with thai food. the food here is definately authentic and made fresh. i found that the menu consists mainly of thai food, and not so much lao food, although lao cuisine doesn't have very many distinctive dishes, to begin with. this was a great experience, and i'm really glad i tried it out. i would reccommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic thai flavours.
