sushi haru

excellent. since i have been introduced to sushi, i have been to several place including, nara, raw, koromaki house andsushiharu.sushiharu is so far my favorite! it is a really laid back casual atmosphere with a pretty creative and yummysushimenu!. loved it and cant wait to go back

bestsushii have found in kc. i have visitedsushiharu at least a dozen times over the last year. the design of the restaurant is very simple and clean. there are about a dozen tables, two tatami rooms and asushibar. i have always received excellent service, and the fish is the freshest i have had in kansas city. on top of the freshness, thesushichefs put together interesting rolls and i absolutely love the crispy rice spicy tuna. i have three young children, and this place is really gracious towards kids. in terms of good for groups, i would be sure to call ahead and reserve one of the tatami rooms.

one of our favorite places in kc! it's a hidden gem. the food is delicious and the service is great! thesushichefs are craftsmen. highly recommend!

i stopped in for lunch atsushiharu. the fried beef dumplings appeared to be house prepared. the large menu of japanese specialties from sushi, noodles, and bento boxes was difficult for me to narrow down. i settled on two rolls: the trinity roll and sexy lady roll. although both had a "chili" sign next to them in the menu, they were not particularly spicy. however, both were very full of flavor and creative. the house sake served warm was a nice accompaniment.

bestsushiin kc. this is the best pace in south kc to get sushi. the bret roll and frisky roll are a must try! and you can never go wrong with the philly or avacado roll. the service is quick and the staff is always helpful.

this is my second visit here. last time i was close so i tried haru. this time i went a long way out of my way to get here. hands down my favoritesushiplace in the kc area. excellent menu, first rate service and fantastic sushi!

pretty great. have used this place for newbie friends and family. service is a coin flip. thesushiis phenomenal. today, i was impressed with the pyramid roll and the sexy woman roll.

we visited on friday night. had the sashimi sampler to start, and then shared 3 rolls of sushi. the sashimi was fantastic. thesushiwas also very good. our service was ok - not bad but could have been a bit more attentive when it came to refills and things. the price was a bit high but the food fit that price.

this is a must try. i have tried many asian restaurants around the area and this one is the best. i love all of theirsushioptions and the food comes out so quick. it's nice to run in for a quick dinner or lunch.

very good sushi. thesushii had was very good. they have a spicy octopus which i haven't seen other places and it was great. the edamame was maybe over steamed and not crisp. overall, not my favoritesushibut still good.

horrible service. i've been here many times. thesushiis pretty good, but the service is always 6 out of 10, but this last time i went i would give the score of 2 out of 10. the service was simply unacceptable. we were there for more than an hour and a half when it really only takes 45 mins. it seemed as if though our waitress kept forgetting about us or something. i'll probably eat there again, but maybe next time i'll order it to go.

not impressed!. our server was rude. took 5 minutes to get a table and another 5 to get menus. the table next to us tried to get our servers attention to order before hh was over and he snapped at them.sushiwasn't very good either!

fabulous sashimi!. my parents and i dined atsushiharu last night for my father's birthday. he's a huge fan of sashimi, so we skipped out on the rolls and ordered the sashimi deluxe and haru special. i'm not a big fan of sashimi in kc because the fish is usually not so fresh and you could definitely taste it. however, i felt pleasantly surprised when i bit into my first piece of white fish and was welcomed with the melt-in-your-mouth texture that reminded me ofsushithat i had in hong kong, where the fish are caught and sold daily. our sashimi deluxe came with four piece each of tuna, salmon, white fish, yellowtail tuna, albacore (white tuna), and red snapper, in generous cuts. my parents and i were big fans of all of the selection besides the albacore, which is prepared like it is in mostsushirestaurants here, seared with a crust of cracked peppercorns. the texture of the white tuna was a little too dry for me, even though the middle was left raw, and i'm not a big fan of such a strong peppercorn flavor. the haru special came with a great variety of nigiri (tuna, salmon, red snapper, white fish, shrimp, and albacore) along with three pieces each of tuna, yellowtail, and salmon sashimi, cut smaller than the sashimi deluxe, as well as a spider roll. again, the selection of sashimi and nigiri were extremely fresh and enjoyable and i thought the spider roll was a nice touch when mostsushirestaurants would only offer a california. since it was my father's birthday, thesushibar gave us a free roll that looked like a california fried as a tempura. it had great texture, but the taste was a little too heavy for us. my dad really appreciated the gesture. it was odd though, because i supposed we had gotten the free roll for my father's bday, but no one actually wished him a happy birthday. oh well. that would have been the cherry on top of my sashimi sundae. overall, this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant really surprised me with both the quality and quantity of my sashimi. if you haven't tried raw fish, i would highly, highly recommend you stop by here and get some sashimi. it will change your mind!

this was our first time atsushiharu and i have mixed feelings about it. two of our rolls were fantastic (shaggy dog and king crab), the sensation roll did not taste as i had expected. the staff and manager didn't take notice that we were out of beverages until i sipped loudly with my straw, and it's not like they were that busy!!! we only had our drinks refilled once. i'd give this place 3/5 stars, but i've definitely had better. decent sushi, poor service.

horrible experience. this was our family's first time tosushiharu... and our last. it took us over an hour and a half to get our salad. when we finally got out main courses half of our food was missing. every time we had to ask for something it took an extra 20 minutes. out of the six people, only 3 liked the food.
