not family friendly!. yes, there are still really families, mine includes 5 children for a toal of 7. we were in pasadena and had seen the stoney creek inn on the "diners, dives and drive'ins" series so we were excited about eating there. we arrived about 4:45 on a sunday afternoon and despite a filled lot we were promptly greeted by the hostess who i recognized as the owner from the show. she immediately frowned when i told her a party of 7! she camebackto advise that she only had a table for 6 and that we should have made reservations! i understood the issue, but she presented it in such a way that she was implying for us to leave?? she provided no options like adding an extra seat? we really didn't want to abandon one of our kids and adoption wasn't an option either? so i said to her "i guess you don't want us to eat here? we received no reply and she turned away so we left. based on this experience i doubt that we will ever consume the alleged "fabulous" cuisine of stoney creek!! in an era of economic downturn it is sad to see that families are unwelcome at such an establishment. so we wont bebackand we will buy our crabs elsewhere and eat them in our backyard at our six person picnic table. however, we are forunate in that we can add a chair to allow seven with only minimal effort! by the way we did see at least three empty picnic tables at the inn on our way out and even some extra chairs!!!!!
