go for the patio stay for the food!. we found this restaurant on urban spoon and immediately decided it sounded intriguing and a must try. we went in the midst of the saturday evening rush and waited about 30 minutes for a table. we began with the mussels that were served in a large bowl with a tomato/pico de gallo type garnish over top. the mussels were steamed in a beer broth and served with a ciabatta bread it was very tasty but needed a bit of garlic to make it pop. the bread to dip in the broth was wonderful!madstone pub has an excellent beer selection and we both enjoyed our choices. we each had the beef brisket sandwiches. the brisket itself was smoky, tender and juicy we both asked for cheese and shared a side of the home fries. for dessert we had some ice cream that came from a local ice cream shop, "sweet moses" it was simple but tasty. our check for an appetizer, 3 beers, 2 sandwiches, an order of home fries and dessert came to $61.00 which in my opinion was reasonably priced for such a good meal. the outside patio was beautiful, overall it was an excellent experience. we will definitely go again!

special little place. i took my fiance and parents to stonemadpub last night for dinner for the first time. we were greeted at the door by a very gregarious and humorous gentleman who showed us who to talk to about our reservation and even opened the door for us. we checked out the outdoor patio, which is gorgeous, before being seated at our table inside. the place is just beautiful. i've been looking for an irish feeling pub since sullivan's in lakewood closed, and stonemadfits the bill decor-wise. sadly, the menu isn't really irish, but the food was excellent. my parents had the brisket sandwich, which they raved about. i had the smoked pork chop which was quite tasty, but what really stole the show was the sauteed red cabbage that comes with it. everyone at the table tried it and we were all incredulous that anyone could make red cabbage taste that sultry and amazing. we also ordered a pizza to nibble on and take home since they have a stone pizza oven, and that too was delicious. our waitress was super nice and attentive, even though it was fairly busy. i would definitely go back, maybe on a week night when it's hopefully a little slower and i can get on the adorable bocce court they have in the back room!

was there last friday for the first time. absolutely great. first our server travis was outstanding. we were on the patio and that was great. all the food was great. i had a stuffed banana peppers stuffed with sausgae, cheese, and corn laid over a marinara saucethat was just great. my main dish was a pork chop with their own barbaque sauce made with guiness and stonemadpotatoes.outstanding!!! i only wish there was more of both.

my wife had a salad and a pizza from their fire burning oven. the pizza was great as well.

my wife had 2 glasses of wine and i just had a soft drink. and before i forget about the pickles they bring out with the drinks. really good as well.

overall great experience, i would recommend to anyone.

dinner and drinks came out to 61.00

we will be back with friends and we will ask for travis again.

good first impression. my husband and i walked down to stonemadon a whim after a film at the capitol theatre. we'd heard about it, both good and bad, so we were expecting very little.
we arrived at a little after 9 pm and were happy to find that they were still seating customers.
the menu was small but the choices covered every category. the large table of young people next to us ordered crab cakes and calamari and sounded very pleased with their selection. we ordered the pound of mussels as an appetizer and were very happy with the freshness. the bit of fresh tomato and onion in the white wine and garlic sauce added color and flavor to the dish. we had the saturday special of a 12 oz. prime rib and baked potato with green beans. very standard fare for the cleveland area, but the green beans were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were large, flakey, and had a good amount of garlic-and-herb butter on them. the meat came just as we had ordered it and was fork tender. we asked for horseradish but didn't really use it because seasoning was right on the money.
our waitress was helpful and, in fact, we got help from several of the wait staff. if this place had a problem with service before, they've obviously worked hard to change that.
we'll go back and take friends.

fabulous!!!. had dinner with my daughter tonight at stonemadpub. we sat on the patio. what charm and attention to detail! the celtic knotwork designs that make up the iron gates are fantastic! the fountain on the patio, i noticed, was a replication of an irish dolmen! service was the best!!! i had the grilled salmon with green beans... both were prepared to perfection. i cannot say enough good things about this place! will return, will bring friends and family! well done!!!

wonderful experience!. we received a groupon and thought we'd ventur out on a terribly cold night to celebrate a birthday. we were pleasantly surprised at the coziness, warmth and inviting atmosphere at stone mad. the service, food, everything made for a wonderful evening. we were seated by the fireplace, which added to the ambience. we ordered the brie with apples and walnuts for an appetizer, and it was delicious! our party of three had steaks and the seafood linguini - it was all delicious! i would highly recommend stonemadand will look forward to visiting in the summer when we can dine on the patio!

stonemaddelivers - most of the time.. the decor inside and out at this venue is wonderful! fantastic attention to details, such as the black walnut paneling in the bar, chihuly light fixtures, etc. - and while this is important, it appears that the kitchen at times lacks the attention to detail one would expect from any restaurant, especially one that is not inexpensive.

i have had a selection of things from the limited menu, and the beef brisket does not disappoint. it is moist, delicious, and worth the price! the hamburgers on the other hand were overdone on two occasions, and the potatoes are nothing to write home about. drink selection was good, and the white sangria with fresh fruit is a treat on a hot summer evening on their patio!

if you go for drinks and sample food items, you should be fine. for a place like this to really shine, though, the kitchen needs to put out more consistently delicious food!

great decor inside and out. i have dined at stonemada few times and the attention to detail both inside and out are phenomenal. the menu is rather limited and basic but they do a good job on what they do offer. there is an option for every one's taste. every time that i have been there i was less than impressed by the service. but over all the pros outweigh the cons. make sure to check it out during the warm months in order to take advantage of the amazing patio.
