4.0 very good
caught up with friends at this large craft beer hall, plenty of large tables and a great selection of beers. because i get intoxicated quite easily i opted for pots so i could try a wider variety of different beers (i also snuck in a few samples from my friend’s beers).
i went for the more interesting flavours such as ca phe cream ale which is their inspiration behind vietnamese ice coffee. seeing as i have this at least once a week, it was a natural selection for me and they did it justice, the coffee tasted like the real thing and had a creamy froth to replicate the creaminess of the condensed milk. i also sampled their watermelon smash and two to mango, sour but i couldn’t distinguish the corresponding fruits. others couldn’t either but some could. their pina colada smash had a pleasant coconut and pineapple taste to it, would order again.
with the beer we had to get some snacks! beer battered chips were amazing, very crispy served with a side of aioli. i couldn’t stop reaching for them! we also shared their bbq duck merguez sausages served under a bed of chorizo, giant couscous and yoghurt. really rich flavours especially the from the juices of the chorizo which gave it a nice kick.
we couldn’t say no to some wood-fired pizza either, we sat close to the kitchen and seeing the continual flow of pizzas it was hard to resist. we got a couple of margheritas to share which were decent, the dough was quite crisp yet had a good chew to it. clean pizza, not many blisters and little char.
excellent spot for a catch up, good beer, good food and caters for friends who like to show up last minute.
