came here on a saturday night for a friends birthday, was packed had to wait in line. the venue is really cool and a nice fit out. could do with a few more bartenders on as it took a while to get a drink. wine was nice, there were only 2 white options though but i guess it is a beer hall!

venue 👍
bar service 👎 but it was busy for a sunday lunch. food was ok, ancient grans salad and lamb shoulder was spot on, the pizzas on the other hand were stingy and bland. great selection of craft beers!

what a great find! loads of beer options at average/reasonable prices, and the food is delicious! we only had a few starters but they were great, especially the olives! a great feel to the place, a nice semi-outdoor area, and lots of seating. you will definitely feel welcome here as there's such a vast variety of people/groups here!

at $25pp we were a little surprised at how small the pork really was, however, it does say on the menu that it is 200g. we can’t really complain about how it was cooked. it was soft and when complemented by the applesauce, it just melted in your mouth. it was topped with crackling that was crispy but not impossible to cut, and it was delightfully (but not overly) chewy. the pork was accompanied by a side salad containing radish and greens. i did wish there was more radish because it went beautifully with the pork. the greens probably could have been cut to make it easier to eat (think salad spaghetti – that’s what it was like to eat).

great joint to meet up with mates. many places say they're child friendly but this one really is with a full on kids playground inside - more like rufio's cubbyhouse village in hook than a sleek mcdonald's playset - and discounts for parents & kids during the week. varied and interesting array of beers on tap ranked helpfully with strength/flavour colours for easy selection - and the cool feature of laminated menus that you can draw on with a non-permanent marker and they'll pour you a tasting selection of whatever you have chosen. the food here is uniformly fantastic - great burgers and sticky delicious chicken wings with sauce so abundant you'll need a firehose to wash your fingers afterwards. but it's worth it.

can’t stop, won’t stop, stomping my feet!
stomping, you made me happy.

came here on a quiet tuesday night with friends. sat close to the fireplace on a cold night and enjoyed every minute of it!

these guys make their own beer so it’s pretty amazing! also tried the mother’s day sour and it was ok, too much gas for my personal taste.

we ordered fish and chips, and two pizzas: prosciutto and the nduja.

the first was good and really big!! sharing is a recommendation. the prosciutto pizza was very nice! i personally didn’t like the nduja, a bit boring and spicy. also, it’s a bit expensive for bar food though the portions are quite generous.

was told that it gets packed on weekends (the place is huge)! it even has a playground for kids!

recommended!

the best venue in melbourne!! our group had a fantastic function at stomping ground beer hall last week! the food was amazing (our pizzas were unbelievably delicious!), the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and warmly accommodating and the venue looked stunning as we celebrated amongst the greenery! i would highly recommend stomping ground for a function, lunch, dinner, family gathering or all of the above! can’t wait to go back.

nice, large airy venue with lots of seating and a play area for kids. dogs are allowed inside, not sure how i feel about that in a venue that serves food. you order food and drinks via the qr code at the table. i ordered an aperol spritz which was average. their online menu says $15 but i was charged $16.27. really hoping their prices have gone up otherwise that's a ridiculous surcharge. interestingly in a time of covid when you order snacks such as hot chips you don't get any cutlery or napkins let alone plates. it all seemed really overpriced for what it was and just gave off a penny-pinching vibe.

i visited stomping ground in mid december for lunch with a friend.
the venue has a great vibe and the fit out is nice.

we ordered the croquettes to share - they were delicious.
we both ordered the fish & chips for our main. the sea bream was really good and the chips were good. the braised peas were a bit different but i enjoyed those too.
the day we visited was quite warm and inside the venue got really hot, which for uncomfortable after awhile. would recommend visiting but maybe not on a hot day.

4.0 very good

caught up with friends at this large craft beer hall, plenty of large tables and a great selection of beers. because i get intoxicated quite easily i opted for pots so i could try a wider variety of different beers (i also snuck in a few samples from my friend’s beers).

i went for the more interesting flavours such as ca phe cream ale which is their inspiration behind vietnamese ice coffee. seeing as i have this at least once a week, it was a natural selection for me and they did it justice, the coffee tasted like the real thing and had a creamy froth to replicate the creaminess of the condensed milk. i also sampled their watermelon smash and two to mango, sour but i couldn’t distinguish the corresponding fruits. others couldn’t either but some could. their pina colada smash had a pleasant coconut and pineapple taste to it, would order again.

with the beer we had to get some snacks! beer battered chips were amazing, very crispy served with a side of aioli. i couldn’t stop reaching for them! we also shared their bbq duck merguez sausages served under a bed of chorizo, giant couscous and yoghurt. really rich flavours especially the from the juices of the chorizo which gave it a nice kick.

we couldn’t say no to some wood-fired pizza either, we sat close to the kitchen and seeing the continual flow of pizzas it was hard to resist. we got a couple of margheritas to share which were decent, the dough was quite crisp yet had a good chew to it. clean pizza, not many blisters and little char.

excellent spot for a catch up, good beer, good food and caters for friends who like to show up last minute.
