half-filled beer glass with a full day of banter is what the place😉.
when it is 40+ degrees outside, and it is the end of the month, year and decade.
well, you should make a wise choice, go to one place in melbourne which will offer you a wide range of craft beer. with their own brewed beer stomping ground, i would say tops my list of breweries to visit in melbourne.
it is not just a good beer place but is one with good vibes, good music and great staff.
the lamb shoulder was cooked perfectly and was juicy, which is very rare when eating lamb in melbourne. my friend and i had quite a lot of fun and coming back soon to visit again this summer. 😜

awesome venue - during the day it’s got a really nice modern/industrial vibe; while during night its a much more pub feeling.

staff are friendly.
they have a very good selection of beers and other drinks available - though sadly only two ciders, usually.
food is really good. slightly on the pricey side. the pizzas are good, and the rump burger is delicious, with a cream cheese and chives sauce. its a very good size, yet comparatively light and doesn’t leave you with and overly full tummy.
chips are delicious too.

it’s big, it’s noisy, fun, kid-friendly, tasty food, a great variety of beer (of course) and really friendly staff. what more could you ask for in a neighbourhood beer hall!. watermelon smash beer. smoked salmon rillette w/ capers, fennel & flatbread. margherita pizza – tomato, fior di latte, basil

great place with open plan and lively atmosphere to hang out for a drink and nibbles. we tried the fried calamari, sweet potato chips, fried haloumi, and pumpkin fritters which were delicious.

if you love your beer, then stomping ground is the place for you. a huge space with an excellent bar serving all their best brews; there really is something for everyone here. it gets really crowded, and be quite noisy, so it's great for big groups and catch ups with friends.

there is also a dining area, with plenty of food available, so you can settle in for a while if you like. we found the service to be really good, and the bar staff were really friendly and helpful with suggestions about the beers. a great venue with a cool vibe, it's little wonder that this place is often standing room only.

will come back for:
+ beers (pale ale)
+ mushroom stew
+ prosciutto pizza

great brewery cum gastro pub, with a really good vibe and great dining space. the beers were top notch, and we’ll certainly be back to try the beer paddle sometime. the food was hit and miss though. really love the mushroom stew which was hearty, tasty, and delightfully textural. the prosciutto pizza was great (fresh ingredients, and a great balanced of flavour on great pizza base). the smoked salmon and white bait dishes were a miss for us. the balance of flavour in the salmon dishes was a tad off, and needed something savoury to bring this back in line, and the white bait was a bit “fishy” and missing some spice. service was good and friendly, prices was reasonable and we’ll certainly be back to try out some of the other offerings.

it’s been a very long time since i’ve added to my pubs for vegetarian series, and i can’t believe that stomping ground hadn’t got a mention yet! to call it a pub does it a bit of disservice, it’s actually a brewery with an attached beer hall – but that’s just semantics!

love this venue! excellent for big groups (especially if you’re bringing kids) and lazy afternoons. probably not the best place for a first date (it can get super noisy) but for everyone else it’s worth the short trip away from smith st.

bring back your cheeseburger because the grilled rump burger is still a massive, overpriced fail. at least put some love into your food, like you do with your great beers! lift your burger game, it is letting the team down!

one of the best pale ales i've ever had, and i'm not a pale ale fan. what a nice selection of beers and even nicer venue. this place is great for a group as well as a more intimate drink or dinner sesh if you find the right spot. i've only snacked on the chips so far, but i'm keen to come back for a bigger meal and a pot of nitro milk stout.

suitable occasion: celebration, general meetups

we had our annual christmas party at this place with a reservation for around 80. located in the heart of collingwood, is this massive location which could accommodate a massive amount of people. there is a very good vibe to this place if you're looking to have a good time with your friends.

the liquor is categorized to their hardness level and the beers are poured out in a vintage barrel-like manner. my friends gave in good compliments about the beer except for a coffee tasting beer which wasn't great.

the nibbles included slices of meat, cheese, fruits, marinated mushrooms, bell peppers and different fancy breads to compliment them. these were a perfect starter to what followed next. pizzas, beef wellingtons and falafel skewers. these were excellent ideas to top off excellent starters. however the beef wellingtons and pizzas weren't upto mark with their crusts though the falafels were on point. all these were topped off with a soft and melts-in-the-mouth grade brownies from the place.

this is an extremely good place to hang out and have a good time, although its alittle loud with the number of people present in the place. highly recommended!

love the atmosphere and deco of this brewery. there's a great selection of beer on tap and it's a lovely place to catch up with friends/family. unfortunately i don't think the food is quite on the same level as the beer or surrounds. the sweet potato chips and beer battered chips were good, the whitebait was not very crispy, haloumi fingers were ok, cauliflower croquettes had a lovely sauce, calamari was good, fior de burrata and duck terrine were ok, lamb shoulder was ok and beef brisket was soft but there was perhaps too much bbq sauce on top which overpowered the beef underneath. overall, a fun place for drinks and very family friendly.
