sticks & grace

i have been to this cafe many times and usually i am very pleased with theserviceand quality of the meals. however, the last couple of times i have been to sticks and grace cafe i have been completely disappointed. the quality of food has gone downhill significantly, with many of the meals coming out on dirt plates. there has also been an obvious change over in front of house staff that is bringing the cafes reputation down. the experience i've had with the current staff has been quite concerning as they seem to lack respect and professionalism. sticks and grace is no longer a cafe that i recommend.

gem of a cafe. gorgeous little unassuming cafe in busy pakington street where cafe competition is fierce. coffee is excellent and food is a whole new level of delicious. the menu is varied and always leaves me with a difficult to decision to make. prices are reasonable and portion sizes large, giving a feel of real value for money when factoring in the deliciousness. theserviceis generally very good, only once have i felt that a staff member wasn't as pleasant as they could be. that said, they were polite, just not as friendly as they could have been compared to other staff. it can get very busy at peak times, however the wait time for meals is pretty reasonable and definitely worth it. can't help but wonder if some of the negative reviews are from rival cafes in the area? just a thought.

quite possibly the worstserviceever. decided to take the family out for a special weekend brunch, arrived and placed an order. couldnt get the avo because they "got a bad batch" so okay i'll go the meredith goats cheese instead. bad start but hey i'll give em a break. no ginger beer for the kids (only alcoholic) so we'll settle for a choccy milkshake, fresh oj and a flat white. drinks arrived randomly. my son couldnt finish the milkshake, his words "horrible". the oj had layers in it and the coffee was okay but luke warm. an hour later, where's the food. up to the counter and im told it was lost. lost! "we can whip something up for you", well sorry the parking meter has expired and your attitude is so like 'who cares, orders get lost all the time'. tableservicewas absolutely disgraceful. still had to pay for the drinks. :(
do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague.

delectable eatery-busy and great food. busy? yes...but of course!! that is because people like the food and keep coming back. i know i have enjoyed breakfasts there on many occasions.
delectable pancakes served with combinations of creamy yoghurt and homemade style compotes of various fruits..probably the best combo in geelong for this particular offering. if you wish to enjoy chai tea then this one has it covered also. or if you need a hearty egg, bacon and various additions to that it is on offer and is better than most i have had in geelong. a great stable eatery for breakfast and lunch.
i have never had badserviceand staff have never been grumpy. in fact quite the opposite experience for me. they have bent over backwards to accommodate a large group and been helpful when it came to handling the bill and do take the entertainment vouchers with *grace*.
well done to this business for being a mainstay within the geelong area when it comes to eating out!

omg. got recommended to sticks and grace, and was the best god dam breakfast iv ever had. big meals, great price, awesome coffee andservicewas amazing. absolutely blew my mind how efficient the place ran. will be back ;-)

sunday morning breakfast. after reading other reviews was expecting the worst but it could not have been better.servicewas great, happy to make changes to meals and food was super yummy!! will be back!

haven't been to sticks and grace in a long time and thought i would for old times sake , was sad that what i thought would be a big breakfast "the brunch" that came to $22 was tiny , with fatty undercooked bacon that claimed it was "smokey" and everything else drizzled in oil. coffee was not too bad andserviceaverage , the feeling is too crammed inside so over all very disappointed

sets the bar high!. fromservicewith a smile, to great coffee, to food that's always full on flavour and surprisingly well-priced, sticks and grace is consistently very good and has been for a number of years. on freshness of ingredients and flavours it excels. definitely the place to go on the newtown end of pako.

a local icon. this is one of geelong's better known and well respected cafes and it has a legion of loyal customers and locals. the recent cosmetic face-lift is contemporary and welcoming and the larger communal tables are a nice touch. the menu is creative, although the lamb burger we were served was a little under-done on this occasion. our waitress appeared dis-interested and herservicewas ordinary. the coffee used is allpress & it can be ok, depending on the barista. it used to be the only place to go for great coffee in the area, it just seems that the passion isn't flowing as freely as it used to be.

good brekky awesome coffee. this place is flat out which is always a good sign.

always fantastic coffee,serviceis friendly and always great, food offers strange combinations that work together surprisingly well. every meal i have had here has been amazing. my favourite breakfast and lunch spot in geelong.
