yumm!. the red velvet waffle lives up to it's reputation. the shrimp and grits make my top five list in charlotte. this is now a regular brunch spot.

a bit inconsistent, but good. dined here for my second breakfast. this place is always packed. both times were good, but the first time service and the food was clearly better. i love the creative menu. the red velvet cake waffles make you want to slap your mum. the bloody mary is good, nice spice, but the bacon garnish would rock if they used a better quality bacon. still, worth a coming to for a sunday brunch.

one of the best breakfasts in town!. after reading the positive review for terrace cafe in charlotte magazine, my hubby and i knew we had to try them for breakfast. and not only are really glad we did, we expect to return often (even though it's a bit of hike for us)!

just be forewarned that you should expect a wait. terrace cafe is totally worth the wait, though. they are also very efficient, so our expected 30-minute wait for a table on a sunday turned into just 20 minutes.

to start, they have a full espresso bar with options that few other restaurants have -- like the white chocolate blackberry mousse latte that my husband got, or the pumpkin spice latte that i got. both were yummy, but the pumpkin was a tad sweeter than my hubby's white chocolate blackberry.

for the meal, i got the red velvet waffle with cream cheese topping and fruit. i loved the fact that the fruit was served room temperature and not ice cold, like i usually get it. the fruit was also a nice selection of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, melon, and kiwi. the waffle was a perfect-sized portion but could have used a bit more cream cheese topping. (i like my toppings sweet!) i'll probably ask for an extra bit the next time.

my hubby got the full breakfast with two fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, and chocolate chip pancakes. the choco pancakes were light and delicious and probably my favorite thing out of everything we got. i also loved that they served the syrup heated. what a nice touch! we were both really impressed by the entire meal. (and did i already say the coffee was yummy? i swear, bad coffee can absolutely destroy a good meal!)

service was really quick, and we did not have to wait long for the meal to arrive. our server was also extremely attentive and checked back with us several times to make sure we were happy. we really appreciated that.

it's great that terrace cafe is open for breakfast on both saturdays and sundays. so few places in charlotte offer breakfast on saturdays! they have the winning combination of great coffee, delicious food, and quick and attentive service...we'll definitely be back!

always good food!. i have been a professional chef for 17 years and do not like very many restaurants food. i have been to terrace cafe 3 times for breakfast and all the food has been properly prepared. i like a good breakfast. this kitchen knows what they are doing!

great all-around experience! my husband & i had sunday breakfast and loved the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. we shared the lobster benedict and turkey omelet with bloody marys. the turkey omelet was a little bland but with a little salt & pepper it was perfect. our waiter was attentive and the service was awesome. we will definitely go back and it is on our "favorites" list.

poor service for dinner. i have been here before for breakfast & had a wonderful time. however, trying it for dinner with some friends who hadn't been there before proved to be a mistake. the food was good, but the server was horrible! no personality-zip! you could barely hear him even after asking him to speak up. he didn't seem to know anything about the entrees or drink selections other than repeating back what was printed on the menu. i asked about a wine & he didn't know its origin & didn't offer to find out. and when i asked for a taste first, he ignored that & just brought a full glass. he also brought the wrong mixed drink to another one of us & another guest's entree didn't come out as ordered - which he didn't even apologize for. i will not return.

irv. we arrived with another couple with high expectations. my wife and i enjoyed the surroundings and casual but trendy atmosphere. this was our first and probably our last visit. everyone makes mistakes but our server never apologized when my wifes order was not correct, drink orders wrong and no offer about dessert or coffee. all we were asked was "can i get you anything else?" so many choices of where to dine and so little attention to us. go figure. our server made us feel like we didn't matter. no attention to detail. the food was very good which was the best part . not a place to impress friends or clients either.

it's all good. and let's not forget their soups.

of a bowl.

they get it!. it's real simple. prepare good food, serve it well, and they will come.
it all started with breakfast. a real winner. it's not just eggs on a plate. they add the fruit and make it look so appealing. and it all tastes good.
we then started going there for lunch. another winner.
they are now serving a limited menu dinner. we haven't tried it yet, but we will.
terrace cafe.... you rock

i was in town for the weekend and was looking for a place to have brunch with a few friends. we were fortunate enough to find it on urbanspoon and liked the reviews. we were so lucky to find this place. i had the shrimp and grits which were excellent. i also shared the red velvet waffles and they were great. this is my new favorite place in charlotte. it is a must try.

pretty good. i liked the menu--healthy options as well as some really sinful sounding ones! i opted for breakfast & had the red velvet waffles. the drizzle on top was a great touch. i'd like to go back to try other options! it is a bit of a pricier option for breakfast but good for something different. service was a bit slow.

oh yes!!. who doesn't love breakfast all the time!!!!

what a great menu!. the atmosphere is clean & crisp. nice selection of foods on the menu and all of our food was delicous. my only disappointment is it's not open for dinner. i would probably come more often.

this kid's got potential.... my companion and i sat, ungreeted, for about 7 minutes. we then put credit cards and a $100.00 bill on the table to see if that would entice a server to greet us. sure enough, it did! after that, service and food were pretty good. there is a professional in the kitchen. nice looking plates! food came out fast!

last comment...servers... it's hard to sign a credit card slip if you don't put a pen in the check presenter!

i will be back, but the place needs a little zing and zip on the floor for some speed and personality. just my thoughts...
