a greatplaceto use a groupon ! staff are so friendly, welcoming and attentive. we absolutely loved the women working in the lounge. we enjoyed a couple games of pool, along with the most delicious spicy vodka caesar. the burgers are fresh made patties, the sweet potato fries were great and the montreal smoked meat sandwich was awesome with the spicy mustard (added from the table) !!

we have been customers for years. we have finally had enough.

every time we eat there, the service sucks and the people working there are not the greatest.

we were there today at lunch. there was only a few tables. we had to listen to those 2 women bitch about money missing for most of the time we were there. they could have discussed this issue at the front instead of making sure we all knew about it.

 the man served us, but we waited a long time to get served. the food was good this time, but usually not cooked enough. (hot hamburger)
it seems that either management don’t know, or care what is happening. as an example, why did the lady put her purse on the counter where you slice the meat for the sandwiches. that is a health code violation.
it was niceplacebefore, but we say goodbye now as we have had enough of this crap every time we come there.

i used to bring my customers there, but we only have so much time for lunch and cannot wait 15 minutes to get served and another 15 minutes to get our food. can't say it is because you are busy. seems like theplaceis alot quieter now than before.
too bad things have gotten this bad.

one of my favorite restaurants not only for quality of food but for the excellent service. you feel like every waiter is paying attention to your table and for large parties, be prepared for 5 or more waiters to come out with all dishes at once andplacethem all at once - how it should be.

pizza, lasagna, burgers & smoked meat sandwich!!!!!!!!!

my husband and i have beed going to stakeout for about 3 years and go there about 2 - 3 times a month. food and service is alway consistant but we mainly go for the food because you really get good value for your money. for the first time last weekend we went for breakfast with our friends and really enjoyed it.

also we have noticed theplaceis slowly been getting renovated and were told by some of the staff that the restaurant was sold to a younger couple recently. look like they have been making changes with their staff as well because we have seen improvements with the service, food and theplaceis starting to look better. good luck to the young couple!!

very unwelcoming. my husband and i used to have breakfast here all the time, and the food is pretty decent. we recently stopped in about 11:20 on a weekday morning. there were perhaps ten people in the restaurant, so it was pretty empty. the waitress came up, and my husband said, "good morning, how are you?" "busy," she replied, and slammed a fistful of cutlery down on our table. we were a little taken aback, but i asked if i could have a coffee, and my husband asked for coke or pepsi. my husband asked for menus, and then asked if it was too early to order from the lunch menu. "i'm just warning you now, don't try to order from the breakfast and the lunch menu," said the waitress. "they don't like that in the kitchen." i was beginning to feel that perhaps the front of house didn't like us much, either, but i said, "okay, could we have two lunch menus, then, please." when she brought them she said, "so, two coffees, then," and walked away while i was trying to say, "no, one coffee and one cola." we had a brief discussion, and decided we didn't want to risk eating where people who see our food before we do, dislike us so obviously, so we got up and left. on the way out, my husband stopped to let the waitress know we'd decided to go elsewhere, and she laughed like it was the best joke of the day.

thisplacehas pretty much been crossed off our list of breakfast (or lunch) spots at this point. the food is decent, but it would have to be a lot better than that, to put up with that kind of treatment.

i ordered their smoked meat sandwiches which had tons of smoked meat on bread – and like the traditional montreal style with mustard and a pickle! it was tender, and juicy and awesome! with that mentioned, my husband ordered the same thing but in jumbo form and it had a lot more smoked meat with some sides. it was just as good and the fries were really tasty – although not the highlight at all. he had the jumbo smoked meat sandwich ! right now, that is definitely theplaceto go if we’re craving an awesome smoked meat sandwich! this is a wonderful recommendation and i

try the sandwiches. my 1st experience: great, friendly service and the sandwiches are huge and look scrumptious. but i'm looking for a great "steak sandwich"placeand unfortunately, this was not it. my steak was over cooked and lacked flavor. the garlic toast was soggy and barely toasted. i will visit again but next time i'm opting for one of the deli menu items, which look very good.

we have been looking for a really good rueben sandwich and thisplacedelivered. meat was generous and not salty; sauerkraut was just right and balanced with nice cheese. great french fries. definitely the best rueben in yeg!!

would not go back. after reading the reviews on here, i thought i would give theplacea shot. i regret that decision. the server had no idea what was on the menu and did not show any desire for pleasant customer service. we ordered three steaks, which were the special that night. one rare, and two medium. when they finally arrived, we had one medium well (barely) and two very well done steaks with little to no seasoning. for aplacethat has steak in its name, you would think they could at least get the grill times right. also, the water for the tea was lukewarm at best, even though we requested it to be warmer for the second pot. and at the end of the night, the attempted to charge us full price rather than the actual cost of the specials on the board. needless to say, i will never go back.

good smoked meat sandwich. i always drive by thisplaceso i thought i would try it out. as i walked in there were a pee-wee hockey team finishing up. i waited for a while since there was only one server and she was handling out seperate checks to each table. when she finished up she handed me a menu and was very polite and smiling. i ordered the smoked meat deluxe that included two sides. i was going to ask what types of sides i got to chose so when i ordered the smoked meat deluxe the server said 'fries or potato salad'. i said potato salad and then she took the menu from me before i could ask about the different sides.

when i received my meal there was my smoked meat sandwich, fries and my potato salad. i wondered why the server even asked about me wanting the fries or salad. the fries were the skinny kind, the potato salad came in a little dish, the smoked meat sandwich was very good. it was on two slices of rye bread that was very lightly toasted and generous amount of smoked meat. i was surprised that there was no pickle even though the picture on the menu showed a pickle. whats a smoked meat sandwich without a pickle? the server also brought over a plate with some packaged regular mustard and a small jar of hot mustard that you can put on yourself.
i would go back again but next time i will ask about the different sides and my pickle.

i'd steak thisplaceout any day. well, a couple of us happened to be in the area and thought "sure, let's give thisplacea go". we were a little apprehensive because places that look like this can range from horrendous to just about as good as grandma's cooking. we were pleasantly surprised.

the waitress was charismatic and attentive but not very knowledgeable about some basic menu questions. the potato skins were amazing. i'm not usually a fan of the dried-out wedges that most places serve but here they did them up pretty good and weren't cheap about the bacon, cheese or sour cream (all good things in my book). the sandwiches we ordered came out pretty quickly after.

the smoked meat sandwich was fantastic and i'm pretty sure they import the meat from quebec. they dropped off a bottle of keen's mustard on the table too and i couldn't help but smile. i got through half the regular sandwich and called it quits. i ate the rest for lunch today and was satisfied; not bad for $10. the egg battered grilled swiss with ham and turkey was good, but incredibly rich. the fries were your standard pre-frozen type but they weren't over seasoned and stayed crisp even as they cooled.the cold slaw was a refreshing vinaigrette based salad. i'd be interested in trying their potato salad next time.

all in all it was a great experience and the prices are reasonable. i'll be back next time i'm in the area.
