spot on kitchen & bar

food was delicious and large portions, similar to their other location at 4th spot kitchen and bar. first time here during poutine week and the service was terrible. friendlyservers but very slow and not attentive. we find the same type of service at the 4th spot location and didn't have high expectations on the service front. would return however because the food is good but would love to see service improve at both locations. the dining experience would be so much better if service was taken up a couple of notches...

good food, some items are a bit pricey but they usually have solid specials. the staff are incrediblyfriendlythough, so if you don't mind the cost and you're in the area check it out. the mussels are great, and the one love tacos are a personal favorite

spot on is a nice andfriendlybar - which is a much needed addition to an otherwise pretty empty area. the staff is courteous and smiley, and the food/beer selection decent.
the poutine and wings are okay, the rocky mountain burger however really good: 2 handcrafted patties, sautéed onions, maple peppered bacon, cheddar cheese... and i got deep fried avocado added on top. that's a lot of food though, so you'd better come hungry.

community focused /family friendly. i've been a fan of 4th spot for years and was thrilled to hear a second location was open. the focus is fresh, community sourced ingredients served with a neighbourly smile.

we were not disappointed. staff werefriendlyand patient with children. they have a supply of etch-a-sketches for those who know what they are. :)

we tried the olive oyl pizza, meatloaf, and salt and pepper wings. the meatloaf was the best we had ever tasted! tender and perfectly seasoned. every morsel was delicious and the portion size was good. we each had a box of leftovers to take home

we will be back.....tomorrow. this is our neighbourhood favourite.

great new spot!. i often travel to calgary from edmonton on business, and ever since a client took me there for lunch one day, i always make a point of hitting 4th spot for a tropical thunder pizza before heading home. its become a ritual. was i ever happy to hear they were opening a new location in the south, which is way closer to where i usually stay. i checked out the new spot on for an early dinner on thursday march 12th, which i found out was only their 2nd day open. i sat at the bar, where i was pleasantly reminded they have a great selection of local/craft beers, including an actual ipa! the bartender (joey, i think) was great; a very engaging andfriendlyguy. i skipped the pizza this time, and decided to have a burger. i can't remember it's clever name, but i remember thinking fried avocado on a burger may change my life. i love burgers...and this one was fantastic! their sweet potato fries were really great as well. the portions are so big i didn't think i would finish it all, but i did. the last 10 bites may have been a struggle, but it was worth it.

i also love that the spot's are family friendly! i have taken my daughter (8 years old) to 4th spot a couple times when in town for a weekend, and she always loves it. there are so few independent restaurants that actually cater to families, and virtually none with great food. we will absolutely be back!!

great new place!. i am often by mount royal university and a friend mentioned that local had recently closed so we headed over to check out the new restaurant - spot on kitchen & bar.
let's start with the food, the portions are huge, hot a ridiculously delicious. the uptown poutine is amazing, pulled pork, gravy, cheese and fries, it could be a meal on its own. the pizza was delicious, and the wine selection is fantastic.
the prices are super affordable for the quality of food and drinks that you are getting. also, the portion sizes are massive, as mentioned, so it is really worth every dollar.
the service... our server was super sweet, and was really trying to make sure we had a good time. she recommended a couple different wines for us to try.
lastly, the atmosphere, they did a really great job renovating, there is a lounge side and a familyfriendlyside, which is great if you want to have a drink and hang out with besties, watch the game, or if you want to take the kidlets out for a meal that isn't at a chain restaurant.
overall, i would say that they did a great job with the reno, the food is great, and reasonably priced, and the service was good. i know we will be back!

went recently to the newly opened spot on. as a huge fan of its sister restaurant, 4th spot, i was super excited to have a location further south. and boy was i not disappointed!! great food,friendlystaff and a great decor in a pretty sweet location (just off glenmore). i had the butcher shop poutine and it was delicious. huge portion! didn't even come close to finishing it. i will be back there as soon as possible.

our new favourite spot!!! my family and i went to spot on last night for dinner and were extremely impressed with our experience! to find such a familyfriendlyplace is a difficult feat in this city. we now have the option of going to the dining room with the family or the lounge on date nights! the kids meals were great and even came with ice cream. our meals were huge portions, so we both had leftovers for lunch. my husbands avocado burger was melt in your mouth delicious. i had the margarita pizza with fresh basil, and it was honestly some of the best pizza i've ever had! our waitress helped us make some tough decisions and even brought out the kids meals first for our 'starving' kids! the male manager made us aware of the weekly specials and new features we had to look forward to. half price wings and wine really got me excited for wednesday nights. you will not get this kind of service anywhere else in the city. will be recommending to our friends and family!
