good beers on rotating tap, andgreatbuffalo chicken pizza. the homemade blue cheese dressing is awesome! the roger brown pizza covered in beer cheese was also tasty. the menu in restaurant is different than what i saw online. the bar was entirely full when we arrived and the live music was nice.

great and friendly. we enjo....greatand friendly.
we enjoyed our flights of beer as well as our discussion with the brewmaster.
our lunch was terrific. we had the smoking blt (jalapeño bacon) and pimento cheese sandwiches.

stopped in for lunch. building doesn't look like much from the road, but looks in this case are definitely deceiving.
ordered a pimento spread sandwich and salad. food was very tasty and reasonably priced...
and the beer...they should be very proud. i sampled the extra hop song the goldie and both hadgreatflavor...
service was excellent. i would highly recommend that if you find yourself within driving distance you make this a destination stop.

i really enjoy eating here. friendly place. unique foodgreatpeople. the owners really take time to make sure everything is to your liking. if you have slow service it is only because the staff is slamed. the staff does change frequently but that is only because they are moving on to other careers (teachers, nurses, etc) i have grown to know many of them and wish them well.

hoping it sticks around. the food is better than average (try the reuben), the beer selection isgreatand rivals mellow mushroom's, the atmosphere is nice and usually laid back, and there are many tvs to watch games. my only gripe is that they have a band there on saturday nights when i really would rather go there and just watch a college football game. my friend and i would go there for every evening carolina game if they didn't have the band playing. instead, we end up going to bww's (terrible food) or mm (great food but no sound on the tvs).

my suggestion? limit the bands to friday nights during college football season.

the friendliest. heck, everyone in florence is friendly, but i have been to southern hops several times and the folks there are hands down the friendliest in town. add that to agreatbeer selection and several vegetarian pizza selections makes southern hops my favorite place in town. next mission is to get them open on sundays for nfl games.

it's unique, extremely casual and agreatplace to meet friends. go and enjoy somegreat"pub grub", local live music and the area's only opportunity to sample craft-brewed beers - that is, if you are so inclined. why we will go (again) based upon our experience, we give southern hops brewing company a solid 2 of 3 on our unique restaurant rating scale . the food was very good and we'd cross town to visit again, especially for low country reuben sandwich and the trippy dip pretzel plate appetizer. more about those below. we also like their concept for local music in a spacious (cavernous), smoke-free venue. it has eight hdtvs and favorite pub games. the outdoor beer garden features horseshoes, corn hole and bocce ball, as well as serves as another music venue. background ( per website ) southern hops brewing company is owned and operated by james deaton, christian gibson and randy deaton. the loca

one of the best i've been to.... i've been to lots of brewpubs. i lived about 0 miles from the abita brewpub for 9 yrs. this place is great. i found it by accident when i moved to florence. the beer is very good with agreatbalance of flavors. all of the food i've had here is outstanding.

shbc. i went in on opening night and a few times since everyone has a smile and asked me if theres anything i needed. the black pearl draught and the pretzel dip is agreatsnack. live music, non smoking and the general manager is a easy going and entertaining. definitly what florence needs a laid back place to grab a drink and relax.

very nice,greatfood and relaxed atmosphere, real good rock and roll playing, and generous sampling of the many different beers. i liked the southern white ale and the "leroy brown" (nut brown) ale, too. have to try more later.
my reuben was delicious, and my bride loved the barbecue sandwich she had.
we'll be back.
