smokin bones bbq

i have been to a lot ofbbqplaces, but this one has ruined all otherbbqfor me. smokin bones is the kind of place that has a line out the door, and tells you thebbqis awesome. everything is fresh and super tasty i really would wait a couple hours for their ribs. the coleslaw is insane best vinegar based slaw i have ever had. my wife is vegetarian and they have stuff that he will eat like pizza and corn bread. i highly recommend this place. oh and the staff and owner are great super nice and friendly. all around a great place in bountiful.

if manna from heaven were bbq, smokin bones would be the chef. smokin' bones is a literal answer to my prayers. i like to consider myself abbqguy. my wife is a born and raised midwest native from kansas city(the capital of bbq) and we venture out there still 3-4 a year just for the bbq.... and maybe to see her family also, but that's always a distant second on the list of reasons to vacate back to kc. on the weekends i attempt to smoke my own ribs and brisket, so i am pretty familiar with the nitty gritty of bbq. on top of that we all know bountiful is in need of more restaurants and lunch options, especially bbq. so needless to say i was anticipating the opening of smokin' bones like my 2 year old son anticipates the opening of a bag of starburst candy the second he awakes in the morning.

with that said smokin' bones rivals any place i've eaten in kansas city. i have tried every single item on the menu and every single item is awesome! not just good, but awesome. the only thing i havent tried is the vegetables. and lets be honest, who goes to abbqjoint for vegetables? if you are doing that you really need to look inward at your priorities, lets just throw this out there, if you are going to abbqplace for the veggies the terrorists have won.

the chef, kile, is abbqgenius. you have your standard fare on the menu of pulled pork, brisket, ribs etc, but the thing i love most about this place is the creative menu kile has come up with. prepare to have your mind blown as i describe the delicious delicacy's that have tantalized my taste buds:

brisket navajo tacos- no your eyes aren't playing tricks on you, these babies exist and they exist to please. imagine, if you will, a scone, piled with cheese,bbqbeans, brisket andbbqsauce. no this isnt mr rogers neighborhood of make believe its real life ok?. just warn your taste buds before partaking because they will think they have been assaulted...with a round house kick to face of deliciousness.

pulled pork nachos- pork? check.bbqsauce? check. nacho cheese sauce? triple check, the triumvirate of boldness will party in your mouth until you almost lose consciousness.

pork steak burgers- i know what you're thinking, a burger has no place at abbqjoint. if you think that then you sir/ma'am are in cahoots with me because i had the same reservations. until i had the courage to try one. its a burger piled high with pulled pork andbbqsauce. do i need to say anything else? no. but i will. this is the exact thing that sold me on chef kile being this generations david copperfield of the smoker. this restaurant is his canvas and all he has to paint with is bold flavors, moist tender meats and the bestbbqsauce you will ever taste.

i swear kile was foreordained in the great councils of heaven to be thebbqchef that catered such an event because his food is certainly fit for the gods. the food is fresh every day. its moist, its tender its tasty its everything you want in abbqjoint. the one down fall of this place, and every place has something that it needs to work on, is kile and family are big byu fans. they have yet come to sup at the table of the pac 12 conference where bcs births and rose bowls abound. but there is still time to jump on the ute bandwagon, and i will for one will welcome them with open arms when they do, as this bandwagon is in dire need of some good bbq. do yourself a flavor(see what i did there?) and go to smokin bones. you will not regret it. unless youre looking for veggies, then as i said, its probably time to punch yourself in the face.

bestbbqi've had!. hands down, thee bestbbqi've ever had. i have eaten a lot ofbbqtoo. husband and i both had the 3 meat plate with pulled pork, brisket and ribs. seriously, the ribs were effing amazing. the dry rub on them went perfectly with thebbqsauce! oh and the potatoe salad and corn bread was also perfect! 100% would recommend this place to others!

great food at a reasonable price and fantastic service! a perfect little no-frillsbbqjoint. don't pass up their delicious pulled pork! my only complaint is i wish they were closer so i could eat there more often.

nestled in the heart of bountiful, this swanky, contemporarybbqcraze has won the hearts of manybbqjunkies. although it undubitibly has the best ribs in bountiful and incontestably has an irresistible array of sauces, we were a little disappointed with the "bbq" pizzas. the woodfired oven concept is clever, however, the idea of squirting superfluous amounts ofbbqsauces and toppling it with processed cheese doesn't help. just a suggestion from a pizza infatuater, how about fresh fire roasted tomatoes (brings out the juices), fresh low calorie, high moisture bull mozzarella toppled with basil, oregano, freshly cracked pepper and red pepper flakes. overall great barbecue nice location and great staff. we love the live music. just like a nashvillebbqjoint.

i was born and raised in texas and am therefore abbqfanatic. even by texas standards, this place is excellent!

for $11 an entree, thebbqportions are very, very small, and it wasn't that good. plus the options for side items are very limited - they only have beans, cornbread, coleslaw, and chips. don't waste your time. if you want good bbq, go someplace else.

wow!!. if i were to sum this place up in one word, that word would be wow. i met the owner today and they had cooked so much food that they were out of nearly everything. although that's not a bad thing, because it gave me the opportunity to try something new. i have been to this place twice and have never been disappointed. this place does not have a huge menu but everything and i repeat everything is absolutely amazing. they have perfected the art of smoking. tonight i tried the sausage and the pizza with pulled pork as the topping then had them drizzle therebbqsauce on top. i can honestly say i have never had that great of a pizza before, and out of all people who know good pizza, i would be the judge without doubt. all the smoke meats are also amazing i tried the three meat treat last time which is great for sampling the different options they offer, make sure you try all their sauces. the food is always press the owner is super friendly and i was able to chat with them quite a bit. the staff is also extremely friendly and very accommodating.

this place is amazing. it's basically a hole in the wall but it is absolutely amazing and many people in bountiful know where it is. i'm from ogden and i work in bountiful so i was looking up a place to cater about 6 meals for the guys at my work and i found such wonderful reviews on urbanspoon, i could not resist. we got the steak burger, house salad, coleslaw, baked beans, cornbread and pulled pork. everything was cooked to perfection and to everyone's complete satisfaction. the coleslaw was not runny and milky, it was vinegar based and just the way my ma makes it, if not better! thebbqsauce was sweet and tangy and the meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. i am from over 45 minutes away and will absolutely be traveling back with the rest of my family to enjoy this best donebbqplace i've ever had. oh did i even mention the wonderful staff? i got takeout, and i forgot the chips i ordered. not only did they call me to leave a message, when i went back to get the chips they made sure everything was to our satisfaction.

i thought i didn't care aboutbbq. . .. i thought i didn't care about bbq, but after tasting smokin' bonesbbqi can't stop thinking about it! it's fantastic! i've tried the ribs, brisket, chicken wings,bbqpizza, steak burger, cornbread, slaw, beans, and a few other things and they are all fantastic. after you talk with the owners for a minute or two you will be absolutely confident that they know what they are doing and cherishbbqlike it's a fine art! they use quality never frozen meat and are very picky about their wood, and you can definitely taste the difference.

i'll be back again, and again, and again. as far as i'm concerned, theirs is the only realbbqi've ever had!

just went there for the 1st time this afternoon. i got thebbqbrisket pizza. let me just say that it was the bestbbqpizza i've ever had. the crust is just how i like it. and man oh man thebbqsauce is so tasty. i will definitely be back with my family!!!

i 'be been looking for an excellentbbqrestaurant in salt lake and have been disappointed. this was a delightful surprise. everything was delicious, tender, and high quality. the service was amazing. i can' t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.

bestbbqin davis county, maybe the whole valley. my first time was over the weekend. i love bbq. pats is the staple in salt lake, and these guys were just as good, but more affordable. they also offer more variety, like amazing pizzas, frito pies, and navajo tacos. but these aren't rinky dink meals. the navajo taco is huge, covered in smoked brisket, and beans. i didn't try the pizza, but i got a 3 meat combo and i was very satisfied. the prices are $10-$15, but when compared to otherbbqjoints, that's pretty competitive.

above all else, the people running it are good people. they are so friendly. go hit this place up, don't wait.

amazing bbq. i finally went to this place after weeks of hearing about how incredible it is. i ordered the half rack of ribs and abbqpizza! the staff was great explaining the process of smoking and the difference between how they prepare there meat and how others do. these guys order only fresh never frozen meats and on top of that everything they make is homemade! the staff is all family and wants you to feel welcomed.

the ribs were an amazing rich red color and fell completely off the bone when encouraged. there was a smoke ring almost all the way through!

thebbqpizza had pork on it and was divine. i mean can this get any better? this was even cooked with all wood like the smoker. i cant believe how good this was.

these guys cook with only wood. they don't use pellets or any other filers. they cook there food up to 22 hours depending on the meat.

if you are abbqfan do yourself a favor and stop by. if you really want to know about this place and how special they are ask for the pitmaster kile. probably the nicest person you will ever "meat"!
