shady's burger joint

good burgers in a fun atmosphere. you order as you walk in. they have aniceselection of beers and other drinks. i was tempted to try an adult milk shake but went with a shiner prickly pear instead. my husband and i ordered the high fries loaded with cheese and chorizo. they were quite tasty. i had the hood which was very tasty. i ordered it medium well but it wasn't dry. the bun was a perfect balance with the burger. my husband had the el shady. he enjoyed it. there was even a little live entertainment, a couple singing some oldies complete with guitar and tambourine. i recommend.

a really good burger. it was hyped up too much though so my expectations were much higher. it's a bit pricey as well and everything is ordered sepeartely. they do have anicepatio area when the weather is good

nice neighborhood joint. brought my family for the first time. the neighborhood is in anicearea of richardson, and several well liked businesses are in the strip.
we ordered (no line) and sat down. my ipa was very cold and the glass was filled to the top of the pint. good job on that. it was 5:30 pm but the only advertised drink special was half off well drinks. sorry, i don't want any old crow with my hood burger. we waited probably 10 mins on the order. the kids were hungry! here comes the food...well almost. my wife and i were served. one kid was served. the other two kids were not...whoops! "we'll be right back with those macaroni and cheeses". this is just poor training to prepare and deliver an adult meal before a kids meal. my kids snacked on our french fries while waiting on their macaroni and cheese so it wasn't a huge problem, but it was annoying and sad. "excuse me! my 6 year old is very hungry...please feed him before me!". otherwise the service was friendly and somewhat attentive. and the food was pretty good. even the kids meals were better than average quality for $5. a "fresh" or "healthier" option (fruit cup or carrot sticks) for kids would have also been appreciated. otherwise we left satisfied and will probably be back.

liked the black bean patty option!nicefresh veggie set up on the burger, with whole lettuce (i can't stand shredded lettuce). good fried pickles and very good fries. the iced tea was good, great service and very clean.

we had lunch here today, a party of 10 people. i got a double meat bacon bbq burger. it was very thick, probably six inches. i got it with onion rings. the burger: it was ok. it didn’t have just a lot of beef flavor, but it was ok. the burger had anicecrust and decent texture. the bbq sauce was pretty tasty. the onion rings were excellent! i asked for sides of mayo and bbq sauce and made a verynicefry sauce. our service was pretty much prompt and attentive. we had one issue: one of our group didn’t get her burger for quite a while; we guess there was a mixup in the kitchen. the manager comp’d kim’s meal, which was the right thing to do. the iced tea was great. my check was $15.50, not bad for the huge burger (it was $3 extra for the double meat). i wouuldn’t mind eating here again.
