good luck finding this place cause it took me agood10min of walking up and down the street! but it's well worth it when you do. i love the way this bar takes all of the amazing elements of the wild west of america.
they offer free peanuts which we nibbled on and i ordered a mojito which was damn good, the service was really quick and lovely. i highly recommend this place for a nice drink after a long week.

the most fun you can have with peanuts and beer. this is agoodbar when you feel like kicking up your heels and being a bit raucous. infectiously cheerful staff and crowd.

love this place! the decor is warm and inviting, the staff friendly and they give you free peanuts- what's not to love! the beers aren't the cheapest but you rarely find craft beer under $10 anyway. this place fills up quickly so get here before 7 if you want agoodspot

its a miss. we hadn't been there for a while so after we were up the street at low302 bar we went in. the staff were rude and unhelpful, and the place looks like it needs agoodclean. no one seemed like they were having fun and were all just trying to act cool. boring.

a little shady it is, with its half grunge, half cowboy décor it is probably not your typical fist date location but that is what’s so great about it. it is a great watering hole, hidden from the busy city, perfect to get cosy over a few drinks. you could go all in and order bourbon, chill with a beer or be a little spontaneous and order a cocktail, whichever drink you decide, it will aid the conversation flow. warning, your biggest obstacle here will be finding the bar– the entrance is a non-descript alley door with no signage, goodluck.   shady pine saloon shop 4, 356 crown street, darlinghurst, sydney nsw web: shadypinessaloon.com hit the sweet spot: chanoma, sydney cbd the way to someone’s heart varies person to person, the way to my heart for instance is cheese but more often than not, the way to someone’s heart is sweets. this authentic japanese café in regent place is known for its japanese matcha green tea but sticking to the sweet notes, they serve up generous matcha-based parfaits that are great for sharing . you can’t go wrong with the standard parfait matcha comprising of sweet green tea ice-cream with taro balls, pocky sticks and fruit. read our full post on chanoma. chanoma 1/501 george street, sydney nsw phone: (02) 9767 5465 web: chanoma.com.au for the people watchers: the bucket list, bondi beach the perfect venue for a sun-filled afternoon date where you watch the world go by, literally! it is the best spot  for people watching and to share a jug of pimms! the only downside is that it gets very busy over the weekends in the afternoon, so i would recommend making sure you know what your date looks like before venturing inside, otherwise that could be quite awkward.  the other plus to going here is that there are so many people you can always excuse yourself for the ‘bathroom’ and take a detour all the way home. the bucket list the bondi pavilion, queen elizabeth drive, bondi beach, sydney nsw phone: (02) 9365 4122

aaron forte and jason scott sure know how to make agoodbar – they are not only the brains behind shady pines saloon, but also the baxter inn and frankie’s pizza.

o.k. i decided today to start reviewing the places i visit in sydney. here is my first.
shady pines is ok. i do not understand all the hype surrounding it. it's dark, stuffy, chairs are uncomfortable, i hate starring at dead animal heads, bathrooms are so dirty, etc... the staff is fun, drinks are good. thats all. and why wait in line forever to get in a place when there are a million others around that are just asgoodif not better? maybe people think its trendy. who knows?

prettygoodfor just drinks. went here last night..was bit of a wait to get in but not too long (waited longer in some other places). 3 of us didnt get a place to sit initially and just got some bar stools and propped ourselves in the front...a melbourne band was playin live which was pretty cool. we really thought they would have finger food but nothing except free peanuts..which was disappointing!!! the cocktails were nice but its soo hard to have a proper conversation here coz its so small and loud with the live band..so onlygoodif you want to watch a band and drink and have a jollygoodtime. would probably not come here again given i am yet to discover the many other pubs around darlinghurst!

some things aregood- it's nice the bar isn't too overly packed in with people on weekend nights, the beer/whiskey lists are decent (though should be better categorized or described), the decor is cheesily great, the music was fun. but some things are lessgood- thee condescending attitude of the bartenders, the cleanliness of glasses (two whiskies, two glasses filled with floating crap), and the absolutely miserly pours. i swear that i didn't even get a full shot. i understand liquor is expensive in this country, but a tiny bit of generosity or at least fairness would have kept me buying more instead of leaving. also, if it's supposed to be american themed, those peanuts should be salted.
