not like "those chains"-thank goodness!!!. for those san antonians who vote the olive garden into the san antonio express news' no. 1 spot every year for italian, this is not the place for you. but if you want well-prepared, fresh food served in an exquisite environment, scuzzi's is the place to be. fresh bread is served with garlic & basil-infused olive oil upon arrival. the wait staff is attentive but not intrusive (you won't hear any of that ridiculous happy birthday let's-all-clap-and-sing baloney), food is served at the perfect temperature and is neither over- or under-cooked. i dined with two friends at lunch, and each meal was carefully prepared and made-to-order. we were all pleasantly surprised despite some of the negative reviews we read here. if you would like to find out what good food is supposed to taste like, visit scuzzi's. paesano's, which is located across 1604, is going to get a run for its money when word gets out about this place!
