being a vegan, i absolutely loved this place!
healthy, tasty, cruelty freefoodat its best!
i had the thai red curry, and after staying in thailand, i can say it's pretty authentic.
only downer was the limited seating space and slow service.
other than that, if you have a little patience, it's totally worth it!

i was not expecting to like this place as much as i do.

thefoodis truly fantastic. i was expecting the usual flavourless, lentil with grated carrot and sprout dishes you normally find at places like this. i could not have been more wrong. the lacuma hummus and micro greens open sandwich is one of the tastiest meals i have ever had. the raw cacao bowl is also amazing - it's like having dessert for breakfast. the kombucha fermented tea is also really good.

i would give this place a 5, but i think it's a bit expensive considering the portion sizes. they could probably get away with the thefoodprices, but r45 for a tiny bottle of juice is daylight robbery.

will go back for the essene bread and kombucha.

we came on saturday morning and the place was very very full. however, that does not excuse waiting for 45 minutes before you get to see a menu. when we finally did get to place our orders, we waited almost 50 minutes before thefoodactually arrived - and not once did a waiter come and apologise for the wait. the pancakes were quite stodgy and the matcha flavour very intense. it is also very expensive. was really disappointed overall.

as a vegetarian, i so badly wanted to like this place. however, the service is consistently terrible and the prices are a bit ridiculous. today we waited nearly 20 minutes just to get menus. once we ordered, it took 45 minutes to get ourfoodand they messed up our order. every time i'm there, either the order is wrong or the service is bad. what makes it worse is that the staff/management doesn't care that they are providing a bad service - they have never tried to make up for it or express serious apologies. 
the prices here are also pretty crazy, considering its supposed to be simple vegan food. 50 zar for the oreo dessert, which is essentially just flattened date balls?

my husband and i had the most delicious meal after a long hike. thefoodis healthy, tasty, different and uniquely presented. can't wait to have my next meal at raw☺️☺️😋😋

i love thefoodhere , but deliveries are all packaged in plastic, even hot soups. please guys fix this, use paper containers , i can't order delivery again and justify the pile of plastic containers i threw away afterward

thefoodwas really tasty and filling. unfortunately the service was terrible (as many other reviews here also point out). it took 15 mins to get a waiter to take our order and then another 45 mins for ourfoodto come. the manager was very casual about the long wait and didn't properly apologise.  don't go hungry as you will have to wait.

hi guys. i am so disappointed. i waited an hour for the waiter to walk past me towards a white couple that had just entered the restaurant. that was the final straw. i’m so disgusted that such an “health” obsessive restaurant can have such unhealthy moral standards. being the only nonwhite group in the restaurant, it was all too obvious why we were not being waited on, again and again. eventually we left without ordering anything after asking the waitress multiple times to attend to us. frankly, i don’t care if thefoodis good or great, i care that the racism was so rife. i would urge anyone with moral etiquette to steer clear of this distaste, both white and nonwhite people alike.

food- we really enjoyed the food. the breakfast with vegan eggs, mushrooms, sausages etc was amazing. the pancakes were also good. the cashew ice cream is amazing.
the service was really not great though. we waited for a very long time for thefoodto arrive and the waitress was not available for most of the time. the team seems under staffed, there was only the one lady for all the tables. i would not want to wait for an hour for myfoodagain. note- the menu has changed and the prices have gone up.

i love thefoodand the sauce that comes with the fries is exceptionally tasty. however you have to fight for service and sometimes receive snarky remarks from management upon asking questions about the restaurant. it’s way too pricy but that’s generally something you have to deal with upon seeking good quality veganfoodto eat out. the vibe is cool, it’s often busy and the aesthetic has a sheek hippy appeal.

what an amazing surprise this place was!! i have never experienced any veganfoodespecially not ordered at a restaurant. we tried this place after some reviews and decided to have the bvb beef burger and the trump dog which is both beef alternatives and contain no meat at all. what?! i couldn't believe it this was so close to real meat and damn tasty, of this is veganfoodi am turning vegan right now! charcoal buns and a combination of the best fresh toppings and sauces this was amazing!! will be back for sure!

the service, unfortunately, was unprofessionally slow and inept. but thefoodwas fab!!! the probiotic bowl and the burger were delish! as was the 'snickers bar'.

i am in love with this place. thefoodis delicious and i have tried almost everything on the menu. they are a bit pricey but thefoodquality is really high and is delicious. you also do not have to be a vegan to enjoy this place. i recommend the poke bowl, the trump dog or my favourite which is the cvc.

the layout is very simple with very simple decor. there is limited seating so you might want to get a takeaway and walk down to the promenade (its less than a 5-minute walk away). the only reason why i would not give a 5-star rating is due to the service being insanely slow. that being said, it is worth the wait as this is one of the best vegan restaurants in cape town and every vegan should try it at least once.

unfortunately the service is not good. i have been here a couple of times when i have actually left because we haven’t even been helped despite sitting for 20 minutes and even asking for menus.

that being said, thefoodis good. the flapjacks are very filling and a good portion size. my favourite is the falafel wrap. due to this i do tend to go back and each time hope the service has improved.

definitely don’t go if you are in a rush or starving.
if the service improves i’ll be going back a lot more.

pleasantly surprised at how yummy veganfoodcan actually be. after seeing photos of these pancakes all over social media, i had to try them. the pumpkin pancakes were definitely more tasty and more flavorful than the matcha pancakes and i would definitely go back just for them. we also enjoyed some ginger shots and fresh juices out of small glass jars. the restaurant is small but is often very busy. the staff and pleasant and the service was good.
