saltwater grill

perfect anniversary dinner. my wife and i have been looking for the perfect place to celebrate our one year anniversary, and we finally found it! we've had a week of bad seafoodrestaurantexperiences ranging from augusta, ga to biloxi, ms... and my wife was apprehensive (to say the least) to try anotherrestaurantwith strong reviews but with a menu that was slightly higher than our normal dining budget. we were not disappointed in the least with the saltwater grill.

our server, kimber, was more than helpful with the menu, as well as making sure our glasses stayed full and we were satisfied with every little detail of our food. we knew we had found the right place to eat just from the bread they brought out, it was pretty amazing. i had no idea what to get with the large menu so kimber suggested the scamp imperial (scamp grouper topped with lump crab). i always like trying the local favorite/thing i can't get elsewhere, and since they catch the scamp locally i figured why not. my eyes rolled when i took my first bite it was that good. we even got desert (which we normally don't do) because we figured if everything else was good the desert had to be amazing... and the key lime pie was.

the atmosphere was great, and the piano playing in the background added nicely to the ambiance. we were 110% satisfied with our visit, and even though our anniversary was a week ago we claimed this as our anniversary dinner.

a great find off the beaten path. when you walk inside a newrestaurantfor the first time you immediately get a sense of how the experience will turn out when you see a clean waiting area, massve fish tank, and vibrant bar scene.

we were quickly seated and within a few seconds our waitress stopped by to welcome us and take our drink order.

we ordered the grilled salmon (x2) and the pan seared u-10 diver scallops. the salmon came with multiple starch choices and haricot vert. the scallops were placed atop risotto and garlicky fresh wilted spinach.

our salads arrived and were a hit. i ordered the greek (add'l $3) and it was nearly the size of a serving bowl. you definitely can split this into two salads.

the waitress also brought a basket of fresh warm bread. one had 3 herbs from their on-site herb garden. the other was simply a crusty loaf of white bread. both were very good.

our entrees were served hot and the presentatin was fantastic. the constant chatter was "umm, this is really good, or wow, the fish is cooked perfectly and grilled just right. we each took home a to-go box as the portions are too big to finish at one sitting.

a definite must to put on your list of restaurants when coming to panama city. not a tourist trap and certainly a local's hang-out...

robert was our server tonight and he gave us the best service we have had in a long time- maybe even ever. thank you for making our evening wonderful! 👍🏼 therestaurantwas very nice and the food was excellent!! loved the piano playing during our whole meal! definitely want to come here the next time we visit pcb! thank you!

aside from the long wait for a table, the service and food were top notch! unfortunately we waited an hour and 45 minutes just for a table for our party (6 adults, 3 kids, and a baby). it was our last night at panama city beach so we decided to eat at a nicerestaurantand this was the pick due to reviews. the only down side was other people with smaller groups that had come after us were quickly getting seated. hopefully they can sort out their system on how to accommodate big groups because if you're there first, you should be served first! service and food was 5/5 but the hostess/waiting period was a negative 5!

service was very good, food not so much. had the prime rib and it lacked taste and texture. got the impression it is a mid levelrestauranttrying to act high end. they have some work to do in the kitchen.

third time was not a charm. lobster rolls were mediocre, grouper and snapper entrees were overcooked. overpriced. nothing special here. the only redeeming quality was the wait person. if you are looking for an upscale seafoodrestaurantin pcb, keep looking.

poor dining experience. on a positive note the staff was nice & the appetizer was good, but that's where it ends. therestaurantis to loud & the piano player kept singing, badly! we complained to our server but nothing was done. the food was pricey & not good at all, very bland & ordinary. for the same price you can get a great seafood meal at captain anderson's. thisrestauranthad such good reviews but was an expensive disappointment.

outstanding! as a local, salt water grill and bonefish are the only two places i will go to for my big night out for seafood. firefly, also but mainly for the ribeye. salt water grill is a goodrestaurantwith always good seafood. $20 average but worth it! good place for that special date or guest. i will always come back.

good place to eat. this was our 1strestaurantto try in pcb. very nice atmosphere. nice piano bar playing in the background. my wife ordered the mahi mahi and since she does not like seafood much she was worried. she loved it!!! i had a dinner salad the a shrimp cocktail. both were excellent. therestaurantis a little off the beach so we were hoping that it would be good and we were not disappointed. of course the huge saltwater aquarium is a real selling point. it was amazing. we highly recommend the saltwater grill.

awesome experience!!!. my husband and i had dinner at saltwater grill last weekend while taking a short vaca & we were delighted!! food and service were exceptional. ambience was great. we arrived in time for the early bird special and happy hour. great drinks also, we will definitely come back to thisrestauranton every pcb trip! if you're on the fence about this one, don't be; it's a must for any pcb trip!!

amazing. this is by far my favoriterestaurantin panama city beach. i have eaten here so many time and it's always the best food, service and atmosphere. must try!

at saltwater grill, you have the opportunity to enjoy the upscale dining experience without the upscale price. just eat a light lunch and dine early. early dining menus have been around for years and have typically been directed at the retiree crowd. but these days, with so many of us of all ages watching our budgets more closely, these menus are drawing a new crowd. when you enter the bar area at saltwater grill you will be captivated by the spectacular seven foot high, 25,000 gallon saltwater aquarium. and to add to the elegant ambience of the place, piano music is provided on tuesdays through saturdays. now, for the food. thisrestaurantis a favorite of many locals and tourists alike. on the early dining menu you will find selections to satisfy seafood lovers and those who prefer chicken or steak. items such as a slow-roasted prime rib, chicken breast with blue crab stuffing, mahi mahi with pineapple salsa and my favorite, the yellowfin tuna and scallop en croute. add a starter, s

memorable. truly the best meal of our vacation! everything was superb from the service to the food to the atmosphere. we can't wait to go back again. the seafood was fresh and prepared perfectly. the presentation was outstanding. our waiter and the hostess made our visit memorable. if i ever owned arestaurantthese are the type of people i would want working for me.

worst attempt at "upscale" or "fine" dining ever. thisrestaurantis probably one of the worst places we have ever dined at!! the service was awful and the food was the worst!!! not to mention the decor resembled something only your great grandmother would pick out. if you are below the age of 70 don't even think of going it is only for seniors. we had the tomato and mozzarella salad, the surf and turf and a seafood pasta. they were all rubbery and tasteless. the only good part of the meal was our basket of bread and calamari.
