wonderful! restaurant was able to accommodate our walk in of 12 people right when they opened. male server (unfortunately can't remember his name) was excellent. knowledgable about the menu, made great suggestions for the kids, and was patient with our party. food came out in a timely manner and everyone was pleased with their meal. i had the duck tacos and lobster mashed potatoes. the tacos were light and flavourful. the lobster gave the seasoned mashed potatoes a nice sweetness. left not feeling overly full. all steaks cooked well. thank you, saltlik!

exceptional service and delicious food. the upper outdoor patio was magnificent under the radiating heat modules that made me feel cozy warm as if wrapped in my favorite blanket! and the food was presented spectacularly with portions generous and good value for money in tourist heavy, price heavy banff! my new favorite restaurant in banff!

absolutely fantastic dining experience. went with friends and felt that the atmosphere was as such that we felt comfortable and intimate. the calamari is a fabulous choice to start and there were certainly no complaints about any of the staeks we ordered. excellent selection of wines. a pairing bottle was recommended and did the trick prefectly. as well, it complimented the chocolate ganache too. all in all a fantastic evening with a great server, aire and food. highly recommend.

great food and atmosphere! was there with a group and everyone genuinely enjoyed their dinner. service was terrific too, they were there enough to take care of you, but let you enjoy the evening. would go back and would highly recommend.

came here after coming many years ago. very disappointing. took forever to be served just water. steak returned 2 times before coming out sorta right. ran out of baked potatoes before 8 pm. really!! cutlery had to be taken from side table since none was provided after food sent back. absolutely no compensation on bill. not returning.

never disappoints. stopped in for an appetizer and drink on nye. above average service. we sat at the bar and the bartender was amazing. went over all the cocktails with me and made a great recommendation. we had the duck tacos that were very enjoyable.

steak and serve are all good specially the rare steak is not even a little over cooked. but in the lobster mashed potato have a piece of plastic waiter apologized and explained said the lobster is definitely fresh not the plastic:). it's not good for appetite, hope restaurant can also focus on food safety.

girlfriend and i tried it out. meat was good with the sauce, didn't eat the tree twig they serve with it. :)  no side orders, just fries. waitress was good., service fast, but wasn't busy.  we'll go back and order something different next time.

went to this restaurant based on the reviews but was disappointed.

the decor was nice but first thing we were told was that no sides were included in the entree.  well, that's a bad start - as it is rather deceptive as other restaurants priced that into their entree.  so they tried to appear less expensive than other similar restaurants...  ok, i can accept that, if the food is actually good.

my wife and son both got the 8-oz sirloin, medium.  the one for my wife turned out fine, but when my son complains that he has a hard time cutting the steak we first thought he was having his whines, until my wife tried to have a cut from his and she confirmed the difference.  the same cut of meat while can expected to be slightly different, but not to the point where it was so inconsistent, after all, this is supposed to be a steak house where they should be able to get rid of the bad cuts.

i had a rack of ribs and that was worse.  if there is no sauce on the ribs, then the meat is completely tasteless.  frankly, a franchise place like baton rouge had it better.  perhaps i should not have the ribs in a steakhouse, but if you cannot do it properly, then don't offer it.

was definitely very impressed with everything at this steakhouse. we were seated right away and i found the lightning and decor simple but it suited the restaurant. our waitress was friendly and we received our drinks pretty quickly. the duck tacos were a great appie and the steak was cooked to perfection as a steak should be. i found the lobster mashed potatoes delicious and they were a perfect compliment to my steak as recommended by our waitress. overall good first meal and experience

pretty expensive steakhouse, but that's what you'd expect in banff town. good news is that the steaks are really really good. perfectly cooked to your specifications. side dishes are separate and for sharing, as is typical for high end steak places. star of the night was the mac n cheese, absolutely amazing. carrot cake dessert was good for sharing too. no better way to feed a bunch of hungry hikers, despite the high prices.

we loved our meal here! at first, we thought our waiter was a very good salesman, saying that everything on the menu was amazing. however, he honestly is right, based on what we ordered. everything we had, really was fantastic.

calamari... excellent!
dry ribs... tasty but not dry. they had sauce on them.

ahi tuna salad... amazing! perfectly seasoned and tuna perfectly cooked.
hanger steak cobb salad... very good!
royale burger... very good ("friggin' a+")
spaghetti and meatballs... very good homemade meatballs.

overall, we saltlicked our plates cleaned and would definitely come again. this restaurant is a hot take!

royale with cheese. my wife and i stopped in for the acclaimed royale with cheese burger... again, and it was amazing!! medium rare and dripping juicy goodness. would recommend to anyone. took awhile to get service apparently due to a shift change, but it came around mid meal.

overpriced for mediocrity. although the british waitress was very good, my food was just average. my rotisserie chicken was similar to that sold up the road at nesters. served a la carte, i added the half rack of ribs, scalloped potatoes and seasonal vegetables. yes i looked like a fatty with my four plates lined up in front of me and yes it was all cold by the time i was half way through. perhaps they could have warmed the plates before serving. perhaps they could have added my ribs to the chicken plate and have potatoe and vegetables on one plate. the ribs were ok but if that's what you're after go to tooloolous around the corner. potatoes were creamy and tasty, seasonal vegitables were sweet potatoe and pumpkin only (i guess it is winter). our table was wobbly but fixed when i notified the manager. my chair was not level, there was a bloody tissue on the bathroom bench, 70s pop music playing, similar to that found in an average bar. overall, underwhelming for the high price tag.

the worst server in banff. music was so loud our table could not converse. as soon as we mentioned it to our waiter chrysler he bacame surly and not pleasant. we complained twice about the misic to no avail. even though the food was very good we cannot recommend this establishment as our dining experience left much to be desired. instead of having desserts and liquers we beat a hasty retreat. not recommended if you want a relaxing evening.
