sala is our go to restaurant. we can enjoy an exquisite dinner or stop in for a hand tossed pizza and be totally pleased.  the chef's specials are always inventive and delightful. we also enjoy the wine selection with new choices often presented.

this is our favorite restaurant. we enjoy the food and service every time. often we sit at the bar and visit with other patrons which is fun. the starters are all so delicious: grilled asparagus with prosciutto, carpaccio, eggplant with sauce or their chef's special creation and then there is always the scallops!

dinner menu has good choices including the salmon with the italian salsa on top, not to mention the many specials we tend to try.

its the real deal at sala!

prosciutto wrapped asparagus. we love this item from the starter menu at sala. the grilled asparagus is covered in a unbelievably creamy boursin sauce. we sop it all up with the yummy italian bread. the dinners and wine choices are excellent too.

scrumptious starters. one of our favorite experiences at sala is to sit at the bar and start our meal with several of the starters on the menu. we have tried almost all and each one is delicious. the grilled zucchini with goat cheese, the mushroom polenta,or the shrimp in lemon pepper sauce and esp. the carpaccio. are a few. one time we had a special of scallops with a fig sauce that were incredible.
it so much fun to talk with the folks at the bar, there seems to always be lively conversation going and the staff there is always so attentive.

try it!. i've had the best meal i had in a restaurant sea bass with a gorgeous caper sauce, sauted veggies & angel hair with their unbelivable red sauce. heard its a family recipe passed down. it was fantastic. excellent service and makes you feel like you are in a restaurant in rome.
wonderful!

when it comes to italian food, it can be hard to not spend over 50$. but at sala, it will be no trouble! they have traditional and classic pastas, along with tasty seafood dishes, and you can find one of the best chicken marsala disheshere (pizza man has the best ).sala also has a pretty good drink list, that has great red and white wines. milwaukee has many italian places to choose from, and sala de pranza is one of the best.

food ok....uncomfortable staff. dined on friday evening july 25. food was ok but the problem was the less than professional staff in front of restaurant. two of the cooks were smoking cigarettes, using profanity and overall looked like they should be working at a tattoo parlor....my wife and mother in law actually felt uncomfortable. located in what seems like a nice neighborhood near uwm, the staff we witnessed were not what you would expect. also website said they have fresh herbs on the rooftop but the waiter said they did not......seems like there is some funky business going on.

slow service!!!!!!. i am 22 years old, please keep this in mind because i was discriminated for my age while i had dinner in this establishment. the service was so slow. the waitress ignored us and wouldn't come to our table. we sat down at dinner at 7:00pm and left unsatisfied exactly 2 hours later at 9:00pm. our orders were not complex and we were polite while waiting the whole time. all of the older adults in the restaurant were served and left, ever if they arrived after us. the salads were great, but the food was very tasteless. i ordered parmesan chicken and i thought it was extremely bland. my friend agreed and upon requesting to have a side of garlic butter or a different sauce we waited an additional 25 min to get this. by this time our meals were cold and we no longer could handle waiting for another thing. we spoke with the manager who paid for one of our meals and she was nice and understanding. if you want to eat dinner budget at least 2+hours. i will not go back!
