lunch buffet is great at this upscaleindianrestaurant. we like to do 'date lunches' here. the buffet is small but adequate starting with soups and salad, tandoori chicken, beef curry, chicken tikka masala and saag paneer. everything is tasty and fresh. no mystery meat 🙏🏼. the desserts are yummy, gulab jamun is a must (milky spongy balls in scented rose syrup) and rice pudding (i had three bowls and i'm not ashamed to say it). 🐷 great value for $10 and you roll out belly full

being a big time foodieindianand that too from the capital, i can assume myself as someone who can easily distinguish between good food and bad food. to start with, the moment my friend was parking his car in front of the restaurant, i somehow didn't find the gesture of the restaurant owner too welcoming. by adjusting the parking board, he was indirectly telling us that if you are coming inside then only you should park here.

anyways, we ordered a non veg platter to start with. everything tasted good except the mutton kabab which was quite hard to chew and looked stale. we didn't complain as it was not much in quantity. in the main course we ordered bhindi masala, dal makhani, chicken tikka masala (which they proclaimed to be their specialty).

this was the worst dal makahani i ever had in my life. i have eaten at several otherindianrestaurants in states, not just in texas but this is not what i expected and it wasn't fresh at all.

chicken tikka masala, anywhere in the world you go, cannot be sweet and at least not sweeter than butter chicken. as per google, chicken tikka masala is a dish of roasted chunks of chicken in a spicy sauce. forget spicy, this was the sweetest chicken dish i ever tasted in my life.it had no chicken tikka, just pieces of boiled chicken in the sweetest sauce they could ever make.

mister owner the big time miser, had only 2 servers in his restaurant taking care of more than 10 guests at a time. they were taking orders, serving food and also cleaning the tables and he himself was busy getting the breads from the kitchen.

i am surprised, how this restaurant is managing to attract people. there are better places to go in and around dallas forindianfood but this is not the one.

simply the bestindiancuisine in dfw. i have been a loyal patron of 'the saffron house' for over 5 years and the bottom line is they simply have the best authenticindiancuisine in the dfw metroplex. factor in an easy access location in addison / n dallas, a comfortable yet elegant fine dining atmosphere and excellent service and the saffron will have you coming back many times again and again.

i have enjoyed both the very extensive and reasonably priced lunch buffet, which includes a minimum of 4 to 5 freshly made vegetarian dishes as well as stand by's like chicken tikka masala and beef curry. it also includes naan and dessert and this all for less than $10...not a bad deal!

the a la carte menu is available for both lunch and dinner and is quite extensive and caters to all palates (veg & non veg). entrees include the famous 'saffron rice' and can be spiced from mild to 'indian spicy'. some notable selections are the malabar chicken curry which includes a base of coconut chutney, lamb rogan josh has tender lamb in a hearty tomato / onion based sauce. tandoor items include seek kebabs made with chicken or lamb, chicken tikka, and the 'murgh' chicken which is whole pieces marinated for 24 hours then fire roasted in the tandoor---spectacular.

the saffron house also offers catering services that are the best in dfw from family events (weddings, birthdays), to corporate parties and meetings and any theme you can imagine.

if you haven't tried the saffron house you haven't had trueindiancuisine in the dfw area.

saffron house. i stopped by saffron tonight on my way home from the office to pick up some take out. while the food was good, it was certainly not the best in the area. the chicken breast in my chicken tikka was slightly dry. they also forgot to put my garlic naan into my order, but they certainly did not forget to charge me for it. this is a problem for me since i live an hour from the restaurant. the eggplant curry and lemon rice were both excellent. the staff has always been friendly on my visits to the restaurant. while saffron house has goodindianfood, you can certainly get better.

this was very good as our firstindiangood experience! very accommodating staff & nice atmosphere. the chicken tikka masala was the best! we had an awesome time here & will return.

my favoriteindianrestaurant in dallas.. it's a little pricey as far asindianfood goes, but this is some good chow with wonderful ambiance. as others have mentioned, a good "date" restaurant. their lunch buffet is also pretty awesome. a lot of places are shy with the spice, these guys do it right.

excellent food and service. saffrons house is the best place to dine at as it reminds you of trueindianfood. i was already impressed with the food from the first time, so taking my friend who was visiting me was a good idea; she liked the ambience which was perfect for a dinner. before we ordered we were served with complimentary snacks. our dinner order included saffron house special ghost curry ( goat ) , butter chicken and chicken 65 with garlic butter naan and a green salad on the side . the food looked amazing , tasty and as it was nicely served with beautiful garnishing. i also had a chance to order mango lasii, which was refreshing. i must say that saffrons food is the bestindianfood in town.

i was really impressed with their food. my boyfriend is from london & always in search of a good curry as he thinks theindianfood in the uk is better than texas. not quite like london but he liked this place a lot. nice interior, too!

bestindianfood yet! customer service was fantastic! would def. recommend over flavor's and taj mahal!!
