great service and food. staff are attentive. ambiance is nice as well even if there are many customers. wide selection of katsu sets is a plus since they have mix of seafood and meat.

undoubtedly, food is good! we ordered the shrimp fry sets, the set looked small but surprisingly too filling! the shrimps are big and fresh, and well cooked without being oily. our zomato gold comes free with a katsu ala carte, which i also liked better than other famous katsu shops. all sets comes with miso soup, unlimited rice and cabbage and pickled veg.

on the negative side, zomato gold 1+1 does not apply to sets but only to ala carte, in this case only 3 options to choose from as everything on the menu comes in sets.

saboten offers an alternative to yabu but just my personal taste, yabu is still better in terms of food quality, ambience, and attentiveness to customer needs. in here, you have to call the service staff’s attention several times if you ask for refill of rice or cabbage. sometimes, they seem to forget what you asked for so you have to repeat your request. over all a good place to satisfy your pork cutlet cravings

ordered the clay pot and got the tenderloin katsu as free from zomato deal.

we loved the crispy texture of the katsu. we got another side set (cabbage, rice, pickled veg, miso soup) as the free katsu didn’t have any (ala carte). about 225 pesos for the additional sides.

clay pot was okay. good with the white rice. but nothing really special.

bill was given to us in the middle of the luncheon without asking for it, and we were charged for everything! good that they corrected it but still a weird experience.

had dinner here for mom’s bday. staff very accommodating as i am with three senior citizens. i used zomato gold so its not that pricey. same as other tonkatsu place. very good for dining out with family.

saboten has always been our go-to japanese food fix. me and friends love their tenderloin and crab croquette. their miso soup tastes fresh and balance as well.

zomato gold:
really sad about how their zomato gold mechanics have changed. it’s not your regular zg discount anymore.
instead of choosing two dishes of your own choice (and have the second one for free), your free dish is an ala carte katsu instead. 😔

super worth it because of zomato gold!

on par with yabu when it comes to their tonkatsu.

the queue was very long though, took us about an hour to be accommodated. servers were a bit delayed on our requests but understandable due to the number of customers.

nevertheless the food was good and worth it for it’s price.

they have big serving that makes it hard for us to finish the food 😂 5 stars because my tummy gets so round that i need to cover it up with my jacket because the food is so delicious 😋 😊

definitely one of the best katsu places in town. the tenderloin is very soft, and the mille fiuelle is just lovely.

for zomato gold users, their 1+1 mechanic has changed, being only able to select the complimentary dish from 4 ala carte choices.

the food are great most especially the shabu shabu. even in sundays they are full. but during our dine in the place it so hot. it is better to eat outside.

slow service. only one waiter was polite, other waiters look clueless. not good value for money. slow service of food and request for bill, even though they have a long queue.

we ordered the mixed set and shrimp + chicken katsu set. we loved the shrimps - plump and juicy, tenderloin - melts in your mouth, crab croquettes - so creamy! it could have been better if they offer brown rice for a healthier option. also, the chicken meat is kind of dry. overall, it was a great dining experience.

thanks to zomato gold it's now more affordable to eat at saboten. the selection for zomato gold was fantastic. food quality was superb and servers were attentive.

food is ok, service can be inproved. needs to explain clearly the zomato promo, wherein you can change the 1+1 ala carte meal to 1 ala carte upgraded to unlimited rice set.

[2019-feb-11] after trying out the ‘love burger’ from motto motto, we proceeded to saboten to try out the sakura jelly. it was not too sweet so i liked it :)
