i will give this place a 4 based on the quality of the $11.80 hainanese chicken rice, and the friendly and quick service.
for the price this tasty dish is incredible value for money, considering thatfoodcourts charge the same or more for the same dish but not as well cooked.the flavor can be customized to your taste on the traditional sauces served in a separate dish, and the soup was refreshing without being overly salty.
the chicken itself was juicy, tender, and well flavoured.the vegetable spring rolls were presented well and once again good value considering the portion size, but the filling had a mushy texture which was rather undesirable.
i would recommend diners to stay away from the spanner crab. the flavor and presentation were top notch but $22 is a lot to pay for a crab that's not particularly meaty (no big claws on the spanner crab). you'll most likely feel that it was not worth your money (or time) picking out the tiny bits of meat in this crab, and the energy it takes to do so makes this almost a negative-calorie exercise!
with a good variety on the menu i would be happy to come back, although will stick with the traditional breads, rice dishes, and curries on my next visit.
