started out with the antipasto della casa, and it had a wonderful selection of cured meats, cheeses, bread sticks, and fresh olives. the highlight of the dinner was the tartufo pizza, and it had more than a generous serving of truffles. hopefully it will make its way on to their permanent menu, as this was on the specials board. excellentauthenticitalian food.

we have been coming here for years. yes, the acoustics are poor and the service is usually rushed (but still friendly) - because they are always full up, which is clearly a good sign anyway, so thank your lucky stars you got a seat.
dunno about the pasta - we never get past the fabulouslyauthenticnapoli-style pizzas, with their fresh and rich ingredients.

couldn't agree with carly (below) more. this place is the bomb. even the over-the-top, garish 80s decor is easily subsumed by the epicauthenticsourdough pizza from ketty and the team. simply amazeballs. would be great if they invested in some pumping sounds but even that's a bit harsh, may not be everyone's cup of tea but i personally like the ode to italian folk music and stevie g. xx

perfection inauthenticneapolitan style pizza!
very accomodating and warm staff - impeccable service. cool atmosphere, good drinks menu. family friendly. couldn't ask for more!

i simply cannot rate rosso pomodoro highly enough.authenticand completely mind-blowingly great pizzas (simple traditional combinations, no menu changes and ultimately: damn fantastic), beautiful italian produce across the entire menu including delish antipasto options and great wine too.
i'd eat here every day if i could.
one of my all time favourite dinner spots in sydney. if you haven't been, you're seriously missing out.
make sure to book. this place is popular for a reason.

one of the best pizzas in sydney!
very italian style.
it's a small place so it becomes busy easily.
good staff.
the only problem is if you need the toilet because you have to go outside and walk around the building, which is annoying. but the goodauthenticfood makes up for this lack.

one of the better pizza experiences we've ever had in aus. true to italian style - reallyauthenticbases, generous and very high quality toppings (think high end mozzarella and jamon iberico), lovely wait staff and quick service. cannot say enough. very happy customers and will recommend to all of our sydney-bound friends in the future

traditional andauthenticitalian pizza, and possibly the best in sydney.

claimed to have rested their pizza dough for up to 72 hour, the result? a base that's crispy on the surface and soft in the center. coupled with generous portions of cheese and fresh ingredients,this is pizza at its best. our favorite was the diovola and if you're adventurous asked for their legitimately spicy chilli oil; you have been warned.

our only let down was attention to detail. they could have served our white base pizza before the tomato base, but that's very picky of us.

of note, if you prefer thick pizza base (e.g. arthur's pizza) or crispy and thin crust (e.g. made in italy) then this may not be the place for you. also checkin with their friendly staff prior to making a spontaneous visit because this place is popular.

amazing pizza -authenticitalian style. byo which is a bonus. best to book in advance as they can get really busy. staff are friendly and attentive. good atmosphere with a killer nutella calzone! yum

melt in your mouth goodness!. i absolutely loved this tiny little italian pizzeria tucked away in balmain. their pizzas were to die for and i definitely ate more than i usually would have including dessert! the flavours married perfectly and all the food has traditional italian flavours. the service was very good and all the waiters were italian making for anauthenticexperience. it was like stepping into italy for the evening! when i dream of pizza i always think of rosso pomodoro!

best pizza in sydney. this is probably one of my favourite restaurants. itsauthenticpizza and the base is amazing. the outstanding dish is actually dessert... the nutella pizza is out of this world!!!!! the only bad thing i could say is that its sometimes hard to get a table cause its always packed.... the price is also fantastic, never usually pay more than $25 each time i go with a few friends...

leave this italian one off the list. rosso pomodoro was suggested as one of the bestauthenticitalian restaurants and worth the visit. we went on saturday night and frankly were disappointed. service was very ordinary. ordered a coke and squash - both came out without glasses and we had to ask for them. had the calzone al salame and penne rosso pomodoro. the calzone was too doughy and thick on the edges and no flavour in the salami or tomato base. the penne was very bland and came out cold to warm. the parmesan on the penne was low quality. this was our first visit but probably wouldn't go back. i suggest trying the amazing via napoli at lane cove.
