very deceiving.. i heard alot of hype about roscoe's tacos being incredible, so being a huge fan of mexican food, i of course had to try it. i was so very, very disappointed. the quality of food is extremely disappointing. all they do is go to a grocery store and buy normal shredded cheese, bags of tortilla chips, and throw it all together. this place taste no different than anything you would make at home. it reminded me alot oftacosalad day in high school. boring and bland.

the service was very friendly, and the street style tacos are pretty good. definitely only come here if you're in the mood for tex-mex style tacos, they don't have a very authentic mexican menu. however, the variety of hot sauces and amount of ingredients you get is rather impressive for this local indiana chick 👌🏼

i got the #4 special (choice oftacoand side plus 20 oz drink) with the shredded beeftacoand spanish rice, with city slicker and texas brushfire hot sauce. the shredded beef is the way to go, in my opinion. the spanish rice could have had more flavor, but it wasn't bad. after tax, my total came to $6.04, and it was a very filling meal for me.

excellent value food here! i always get the nachos supremo with extra nacho cheese (because i love cheese!) and i'll usually get atacoor two (flavors vary) and usually end up leaving a very happy and full fella! if you have room, get a cowboy cookie too!

overpriced, but set to the palate of the area.. i can see why a lot of people may like this. it is set to the palate of those who don't have a real dining experience. most of the average people around here common to gas station/fast food without really cooking. any cooking done is really set to the drift of this cultural wasteland so it doesn't spread very far anyways. while most of the people that do, are usually out of towners moving in. and thankfully that brings more flavor into town.

anyways! the food is quite expensive for what you get. which is the main reason why i'm writing a review. i've had roscoe's taco's three times and there were some good and bad.

good: hot sauces are pretty varied, and as a fan of spicy foods, while the spiciest sauce wasn't up to par it was decent enough. as mentioned before the palate of the area is not spicy food, which is why it's hard to find actual spicy things in any supermarkets around.

produce was fresh. lettuce, tomatoes, i would even go to say the cheese wasn't too bad. but it was still something you could get in any store for much cheaper.

peeps: not too bad, customer service wasn't spectacular by any means, but at least they pretended like they gave a damn.

bad: cost. it is extremely expensive in comparison to basically any authentic/un authentic/fast food chain place around. roscoe's taco's has the highest cost of any "taco" place i've ever been too.

composition. in the end just because you put fresh produce, the soggy tacos, bad flavor of the meats just don't meld well together. it looked like some child got bored and tried to make some food himself. in fact, if more people knew how to cook around here, you can! and exponentially better tasting. i mean this is a place where all the fast food chains are always packed 24/7, and wheretacobell has the best "mexican." so you can't expect much. the food tasting bad for that price is unexpected as you'd wish it at least have some sort of spin to the traditional taco. looking and tasting like some 7 year old had his way through the kitchen is not a spin, but a result of the environment.

overall: 3/10. i would only go there if you don't know any better about tacos or even what food is in general. consistency in poorly marinated meats, just carry any dish into doom. maybe it was made for old people, and i didn't know, as there are many older communities around lol.

what is this stuff? besides tasty, that is.. roscoe's had me regretting my decision to get their food from the moment i stopped in until the moment i lifted one of their nachos to my mouth. what happened after that left me confused, so i quickly ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror. "who is this?" i asked my reflection, shocked at the fact that his taste buds were telling him that roscoe's tacos, despite its appearance, actually tastes good.

let's back up. first of all, i came in for the first time on a thursday night. the place was packed as in, no seats available. the heat on the inside was almost as bad as the outside. "saving money on the a/c" i thought to myself. "i wonder what else they're saving money on..." obviously not decor or even general cleaning supplies, as the place had a dingy and dirty appearance. i should've turned around and walked away. but the reviews! the reviews! they all said it was good! but why on earth would atacoplace put black olives on tacos and burritos?! it was so unnatural. consulting the menu over and over, nothing stood out to me as unique or particularly appetizing, so i closed my eyes and pointed to a menu in front of the cashier, which i'm sure is what some gambler's do at the roullete wheel.

taking home my shredded beef and chicken burritos as well as an order of their nachos, i weerily presented them to my wife and her friend. all ingredients seriously look like they were the kind you'd buy at sam's club prior to setting up a charity food stand. but somehow, the cominations worked. the bottom line about their food is this: you must use their sauce on every bite, or you will taste the blandness that exudes from their shredded chicken (which is dry like many reviewers said), but their shredded beef was surprisingly well seasoned. the nacho's were absolutely smothered in a nacho cheese/sour cream mixture that had tons of onions (why?!) and tomatoes mixed in and was shockingly, pretty good.

i don't want to come back here again because i figured for the $40 i spent (5 burritos and 1 plate of nachos) that i would get something more fresh. but i haven't visited enough mexican places around greenwood to know where to really go just yet.

i live in bloomington and very seldom get to greenwood but when i do roscoe's tacos is where i want to eat. i always get exceptional service. friendly and fast! thats what i like. the servings are exceptionally generous and i find it hard to get all of it in my belly, although i do try, lol. they have excellenttacosauces with a wide range from no heat to extremely hot.the prices are great for the amount of food you get, and last but not least, the cowboy cookies are a must!!! they are great! not just this bloomington gal but a lot of other b-town folks visit roscoe's tacos when in town. i love you roscoe'stacoas does bloomington and we are hoping someday to have a roscoe's tacos here!!

the food is good, i love the teslatacoand the chilli tacos remind me of the ones fromtacobell from about 20 years ago when they used to be good. the nachos are great and the hot sauces are good, i just wish that i didn't have to ask for the lava sauce. why don't they just put it out with the rest of the sauces?
