very deceiving.. i heard alot of hype about roscoe's tacos being incredible, so being a huge fan of mexican food, i of course had to try it. i was so very, very disappointed. the quality offoodis extremely disappointing. all they do is go to a grocery store and buy normal shredded cheese, bags of tortilla chips, and throw it all together. this place taste no different than anything you would make at home. it reminded me alot of taco salad day in high school. boring and bland.

o yeah.... duh!! the absolute best thing roscoe's offers is their sauce!!! i need at least a half a bottle of cinn city slicker on every bite! that's the biggest reason we love it so much! there's a bit of everything and the names are fabulous... can not eat anything without trying at least one, if not all of the sauces. yuuum!

its a simple yes.... everyone i know frequents roscoe's. people who bash the workers or their music choice should probably just go somewhere else... rude! focus on thefoodand service-- thefoodis simply great. so simple yet done perfect every time. not chain. i get fast friendly service and myfoodis never made incorrectly. maybe not "mexican" but we call it american mexican :) and its the first thing that pops into our heads when we want to go out and grab something. roscoes, however is not the cheapest on the block, and for simple ingredients i only wonder why, but you definitely get your money's worth in size.. one john henry bean burrito fills me so full i have to squeeze in my cowboy cookie! thanks roscoe for opening up another franchise closer to home!!!!

i was kicked out today for having a health condition that exempts me from wearing a mask. i asked the manager if she was aware of what the health code required of patrons with what was and wasn’t exempt. she said yes and still told me to leave and refused service. it’s a shame..... awesome place love thefoodhere... it comes to an end..all because they are making a personal preference to discriminate against people with health conditions.
because if you really knew what the health code has in it. they would have served me on these basis alone. i just got a taste of what discrimination looks like from this side of life.

excellent valuefoodhere! i always get the nachos supremo with extra nacho cheese (because i love cheese!) and i'll usually get a taco or two (flavors vary) and usually end up leaving a very happy and full fella! if you have room, get a cowboy cookie too!

overpriced, but set to the palate of the area.. i can see why a lot of people may like this. it is set to the palate of those who don't have a real dining experience. most of the average people around here common to gas station/fastfoodwithout really cooking. any cooking done is really set to the drift of this cultural wasteland so it doesn't spread very far anyways. while most of the people that do, are usually out of towners moving in. and thankfully that brings more flavor into town.

anyways! thefoodis quite expensive for what you get. which is the main reason why i'm writing a review. i've had roscoe's taco's three times and there were some good and bad.

good: hot sauces are pretty varied, and as a fan of spicy foods, while the spiciest sauce wasn't up to par it was decent enough. as mentioned before the palate of the area is not spicy food, which is why it's hard to find actual spicy things in any supermarkets around.

produce was fresh. lettuce, tomatoes, i would even go to say the cheese wasn't too bad. but it was still something you could get in any store for much cheaper.

peeps: not too bad, customer service wasn't spectacular by any means, but at least they pretended like they gave a damn.

bad: cost. it is extremely expensive in comparison to basically any authentic/un authentic/fastfoodchain place around. roscoe's taco's has the highest cost of any "taco" place i've ever been too.

composition. in the end just because you put fresh produce, the soggy tacos, bad flavor of the meats just don't meld well together. it looked like some child got bored and tried to make somefoodhimself. in fact, if more people knew how to cook around here, you can! and exponentially better tasting. i mean this is a place where all the fastfoodchains are always packed 24/7, and where taco bell has the best "mexican." so you can't expect much. thefoodtasting bad for that price is unexpected as you'd wish it at least have some sort of spin to the traditional taco. looking and tasting like some 7 year old had his way through the kitchen is not a spin, but a result of the environment.

overall: 3/10. i would only go there if you don't know any better about tacos or even whatfoodis in general. consistency in poorly marinated meats, just carry any dish into doom. maybe it was made for old people, and i didn't know, as there are many older communities around lol.

bad. the chicken tasted like turkey and thefoodwas cold . my wife ordered nachos and instead of nacho cheese they put shredded cheese on the nachos. me and my family won't go back. 25$ on trash.

-----26 feb, 2014-----

bad. me and the family went and the menu prices were not up to date. the menu was confusing, my wide got the nachos and they put sprinkle cheese on the nachos instead of nacho cheese. the chicken tasted like it was turkey they said it was chicken but i no the difference between chicken and turkey.

what is this stuff? besides tasty, that is.. roscoe's had me regretting my decision to get theirfoodfrom the moment i stopped in until the moment i lifted one of their nachos to my mouth. what happened after that left me confused, so i quickly ran to the bathroom to look in the mirror. "who is this?" i asked my reflection, shocked at the fact that his taste buds were telling him that roscoe's tacos, despite its appearance, actually tastes good.

let's back up. first of all, i came in for the first time on a thursday night. the place was packed as in, no seats available. the heat on the inside was almost as bad as the outside. "saving money on the a/c" i thought to myself. "i wonder what else they're saving money on..." obviously not decor or even general cleaning supplies, as the place had a dingy and dirty appearance. i should've turned around and walked away. but the reviews! the reviews! they all said it was good! but why on earth would a taco place put black olives on tacos and burritos?! it was so unnatural. consulting the menu over and over, nothing stood out to me as unique or particularly appetizing, so i closed my eyes and pointed to a menu in front of the cashier, which i'm sure is what some gambler's do at the roullete wheel.

taking home my shredded beef and chicken burritos as well as an order of their nachos, i weerily presented them to my wife and her friend. all ingredients seriously look like they were the kind you'd buy at sam's club prior to setting up a charityfoodstand. but somehow, the cominations worked. the bottom line about theirfoodis this: you must use their sauce on every bite, or you will taste the blandness that exudes from their shredded chicken (which is dry like many reviewers said), but their shredded beef was surprisingly well seasoned. the nacho's were absolutely smothered in a nacho cheese/sour cream mixture that had tons of onions (why?!) and tomatoes mixed in and was shockingly, pretty good.

i don't want to come back here again because i figured for the $40 i spent (5 burritos and 1 plate of nachos) that i would get something more fresh. but i haven't visited enough mexican places around greenwood to know where to really go just yet.

simplicity is key, here at this place. thefoodis so simple that anyone could make this at there house. what you cannot make is the amazing sauces that you will only find at roscoe's. their food, combined with their sauce (texas brushfire is my favorite for flavor), is the best tex-mex in indiana. this is not mexican food. do not compare this with el azabache or some place like that. it is totally different. don't go to this place expecting the stoners behind the counter to be jumping for joy when you walk in either. the customer service is not the best experience but its definitely not the worst by any means. i wouldn't change a thing about roscoe's tacos. i've been going there for the past 10 years and i've loved it every time.

original kickass tacos. i was employed at roscoe's off and on for 11 years. i have since moved away from indy, and miss thefooda lot! luckily i have kind parents who send sauces to me so that i can try to fake my own tacos on occasion. as some of you may know, working at a restaurant for 11 years can spoil your taste for the food, but somehow i still crave some hoosier styled chicken nachos with tonsillectomy sauce. it'll never get old! on my last trip to indy i introduced my family (5x) to roscoe's. let that be a testament to the quality of thefoodand the cleanliness of the kitchen. i was also glad to see the eccentric atmosphere hasn't lost its touch (even if you used to play better music...hahaha). good people...good food!

i live in bloomington and very seldom get to greenwood but when i do roscoe's tacos is where i want to eat. i always get exceptional service. friendly and fast! thats what i like. the servings are exceptionally generous and i find it hard to get all of it in my belly, although i do try, lol. they have excellent taco sauces with a wide range from no heat to extremely hot.the prices are great for the amount offoodyou get, and last but not least, the cowboy cookies are a must!!! they are great! not just this bloomington gal but a lot of other b-town folks visit roscoe's tacos when in town. i love you roscoe's taco as does bloomington and we are hoping someday to have a roscoe's tacos here!!

thefoodis good, i love the tesla taco and the chilli tacos remind me of the ones from taco bell from about 20 years ago when they used to be good. the nachos are great and the hot sauces are good, i just wish that i didn't have to ask for the lava sauce. why don't they just put it out with the rest of the sauces?

good food, good portions. though theirfoodisn't flavored with a barrage of spices or cream-based sauces, it has a more fresh taste to it. the sauces they offer range from a mild pepper taste with no heat, to a sauce that you must really enjoy spicy foods to endure. while they have odd music playing at times, they are always fast, friendly, and accurate. this is my favorite "mexican"foodwith no match.

your kidding me.... there is nothing authentic about thisfoodor creative or unique. it's like a bad imitation of qdoba, but more expensive. at least you get a lot of very bland rice on your burrito. obvious that this place gets high reviews from locals who have never had anything remotely authentic.
