the rogue bar and bistro has gained itself a following, despite being in the more industrial bit of newstead. without doubt this will change as more and more apartments spring up in the area. it sits in what looks like a converted house, with a rather modern front in shades of black, white, and grey.

great place to go for brunch, recommend that you book ahead of time so you can avoid the long waits. amazing food with a nice cozy setting. only negative would be the wait for the food but totally worth it.

this place never disappoints. the food and the atmosphere make this place one of brisbane's little gems. the food is innovative yet delicious. you can tell the menu has been well thought of. go to rogue!

arrived at 10:00, and we already needed to wait in line, so you can tell how popular this restaurant is. recommend omelette, and i think the balsamic aioli is the best part of this dish. it just goes so well with the omelette and the toast. but i reckon the pork belly itself is not tender enough. concerning the waffle, i think the waffle is not that satisfying, but the lemon curd is so scrumptious

consistently amazing food. from the bread and calamari/watermelon starter to the mains of fish, game and bird, wonderful presentation and service. one of the best restaurants in brisbane -- and queensland and australia!

dined in for breakfast and got the savoury waffle. awesome texture and flavour of the waffle itself. chicken was succulent and crispy. egg was perfectly fried. carrot jam was a nice touch. also exceptional service, atmosphere, and coffee.

my mate got the pork belly omelette which i tried. pork was too dry for my liking, and the harissa yogurt was too subtle, which was a shame. but overall still a tasty plate.

i came here with a couple of friends and we were very impressed with rogue. i was the only one that ordered a cocktail - it's called toffee apple, one of their signatures and is utterly delicious. i am a big fan of confit duck so i had to get that for mains. the meat was perfectly cooked and portion was large. we ordered one each of every dessert. they all show traces of the same technique (dehydrated elements, crumbs, gels) yet were different from each other. would definitely return again.

rogue has been one of my favourite restaurants for a long time now with consistently impressive seasonal menus and unique flavor combinations, impeccable service and a great environment for both casual and special events. tonight's experience was no exception. for entree we ordered the pulled pork + crackling (pig) and cured trout tartare (fish) and for mains we ordered the pork belly + loin (pig) and hay smoked hen breast (bird). we finished off the night with the 'bubble wrap' dessert which was nothing less than delicious, as with the other courses. although there was a long wait between entrees and mains, it was well worth it and will definitely be back!

had dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. the bread was amazing - just crusty enough and awesome addition of salt sprinkled on top. we had the ark - cow/pig/bird which was a great concept! we found the portion generous and couldn't finish, but gave it a good crack! awesome flavour combos - loved the mustard/horseradish on the beef. we did find that the meal cooled down really quickly though, so by the time i tried the third dish it was cold.
setting was nice though a bit cold by the door on a winters night! it's a bit difficult to see from the street - we drove straight past the first time. service quick and efficient.
great value for money - particularly with the entertainment book voucher!

don't believe the hype. my wife and i were quite excited to come here. the reviews and the vibe are very hip and the place is well organised with professional but friendly service, great presentation too. however, as much as i am a fan of canned stag chilli, being charged $18 for it at a gourmet breakfast venue made me feel a bit ripped off.

we came here for our mums 60th bday and tasted the banquet of pork and cow and were not disappointed! the meat dishes were cooked to perfection and the entree of calamari and popcorn chicken really kicked off the night. some parts of the mains and sides were too salty. the dessert was beautiful and had delicate flavours. we weren't fans of the cocktails but each to their own! would definitely like to come and try their breakfast menu for sure!

rogue bistro is a great little place for a sneaky coffee, or a relaxing brunch on the weekend. it's hidden away on an industrial street in newstead, but don't let that followed you, the food here is excellent.

whilst there are better coffees around, they still do a decent one that you'll be happy with. oh and don't come here expecting massive meals! they aren't tiny, but they are beautifully presented and delicious. we tried the poached eggs, avocado and chorizo which was nicely flavoured (but the eggs were slightly overcooked) and the pancakes which were amazing (but more like pikelets)! all in all, i'd definitely return and it's one of the better brunch places in brisbane.
