happy customer. yum..... i highly recommend rogue. service great, staff friendly andfoodexcellent. prices are very reasonable. between four us we shared a couple of starters, had beef, lamb and fish for mains and shared the banoffi pie for dessert. had plenty to eat with 2 bottles of wine and beers. it was $60 each for the night and well worth it. we will definitely be back.

april 2020: bought takeaway pancakes and chicken waffles for weekend brunch.
pancakes had a crispy exterior and fluffly on the inside. luscious mascarpone salted caramel ice cream. the chicken was crispy with savoury waffles and silky maple syrup.
easy online ordering system via their website. pick up and delivery options available. prices a little on the higher end.
overall, a nice treat during these cautious times.

september 2018: returned for a cheeky, spontaneous late night dessert.

we tried the 'sticky date brioche donuts' - an impeccable balance of sticky date flavours and textures - and the 'cherry ripe' - a delicate chocolate dome with intense cherry and berry flavours.

once again, foodand service worthy of all five stars!

may 2018: made a reservation for friday date-night dinner. this was our first experience at rogue, and we were looking forward to seeing (and eating) all of the hype.

we started off with drinks (i had a cocktail, "a jimador's heaven", which was very refreshing and easy-to-drink), and entrees.
we chose the "vegetable" bao - crispy bao with deep earthy flavours and perfect accompaniments, and the "cow" beef tartare - a sweeter version than the traditional cured one, but delicious and fresh all the same.

just prior to mains, we spontaneously ordered a side of "chips" - strong flavours of sriracha, crispy well-cooked potato chips with a side of garlic aioli.

for mains, we chose the "pig" - perfectly cooked, succulent roast pork with crispy skin, and the accompanying smoky artichoke puree was delectable (my partner mopped up every bit of puree left on the plate), and "sheep" - tender lamb with a textural experience of crispy lotus root and roasted carrots.

for dessert, we shared the "macadamia" - a textural and delicious mille feuille-type dessert with crispy brittle and smooth gelato. a strong finish to our night.

service was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. casual-smart ambience. reasonable prices. the portions were quite reasonable too - my partner and i were sufficiently full before we ordered dessert. in hindsight, we probably did not need the portion of chips on the side as well (albeit, they were quite delicious though).

overall, an impeccable dinner, well worth the hype and rating. will be back to try the other dinner items, as well as the brunch options!

rogue bar & bistro had been on my breakfast radar for some time when my workout-and-brunch buddy and i needed somewhere to refuel after our recent sunday morning run. you know a cafe is worth visiting when it's highly recommended by three totally unrelated friends, and this was the case with rogue.

even though we managed to arrive just before their major sunday morning rush, there was still a waiting list of about half an hour. we popped our names down on the list, ordered a takeaway coffee, and found a space on the conveniently located couch out the front with the other hungry patrons. our waiting time was used wisely by pouring over the menu and drooling over rogue's instagram feed.

surprisingly, we were seated and ordering our second round of coffees 20 minutes later - mug of vanilla flat white for me and a long black with skim on the side for her. both of my coffees (what?! i was tired! 🙊) were perfect; great strength, no bitterness, lovely crema, and a great mouth feel. my buddy was also a very happy, caffeinated lady.

our decision regarding food, however, was incredibly difficult - too many amazing choices! in the end, we decided to go all out and split three - yes, three! - breakfasts between us. the lucky winners:
- omelette - bbq pork belly, asian slaw, spiced labne, black sesame aioli, and ciabatta;
- mushrooms - truffled scrambled eggs, pancetta crumb, caramelised onion, chèvre, and sourdough;
- pancakes - blueberry, salted caramel, chocolate ganache, popcorn, and vanilla ice cream.

first up, the omelette was delicious! the pork belly was so succulent, the fat rendered beautifully. the asian slaw was a perfect match for this too. i absolutely loved the creamy texture and the taste of the black sesame aioli. everything on this plate was delicious!

but then i tried the mushrooms..... oh. my. gosh. those truffled scrambled eggs were simply divine! the mushrooms were scrumptious, well-cooked but still retained a little bit of bite. the caramelised onion was so lovely and sweet and the pancetta was a beautifully crispy and salty contrast. the chèvre was a nice accompaniment to finish such a well thought-out dish.

finally, for dessert, the pancakes - amazing!!! everything on this plate just sang! the pancakes themselves were a little dry initially but when paired with maple syrup they were heaven. the popcorn was a great textural element and worked beautifully with the delicious salted caramel. and i couldn't get enough of the gorgeous chocolate ganache - i just kept diving back in for more! my workout-and-brunch buddy is not a fan of sweet breakfasts but even she was in love with this perfectly balanced, dessert-like plate offood- congratulations on converting the unconvertible!

the service at rogue was impeccable from start to finish and ran like clockwork. each member of staff knew exactly what they were doing, which tables were theirs, and were super professional and friendly in all things. the waitress who served us gets extra points for her attention to detail in the way she looked after us, ensuring that we had sufficient plates and cutlery for sharing without us needing to ask.

the white and wood decor with plenty of natural light and greenery, coupled with the fantastic staff, great coffee, and amazingfoodreally made our sunday. i think i may have found my new default breakfast retreat! thank you, rogue!

missing out on 0.5 of my vote just because of the service. we got asked 3 times by two different staff if we were ready to order...for such a high rated restaurant you would think the service would be spot on. other than that, thefoodand drinks were incredible and the ambiance beautiful. the octopus was delicious, crispy and tender. the pork belly cooked very well with the fat rendered to perfection and a creamy and crunchy bite. will be coming back very soon to try the new menu.

went here last night. thefoodwas amazing and the service was exceptional. we will definitely be coming back. only missed out on the extra 0.5 because of their beer selection. what's wrong with having good old mainstream aussie beers on the menu? not everyone is a fan of craft and european beers.

first, and not last, time at rogue. really impressed. did the standard degustation and picked out wine from a completely reasonable wine list (nice to have many choices under $100).foodterrific and interesting, service fantastic. the scallops in potato foam sounded silly but ended up a perfect winter dish, really satisying. the pork belly was lick-the-bowl-clean yummy. serving sizes were good, it wasn't 8 thimbles of food. i didnt love my dessert (dry cake with gelato) but that complaint was lost amoung the luvin vibes i was feeling (aka alcohol) in this dark, moody, sexy litle bistro. snaps for rogue

i came here for my birthday dinner celebration for their degustation and i was really impressed with their food. for the price of $80 per person for a seven course meal (without matching wines), it was definitely worth it!

food:
on the night, i started with a seeded baguette with a smokey whipped butter and an entree of a confit duck leg with peanut better and fennel. i then had a pan-seared scallop with potato foam and quinoa. the mains included a pork belly with parsnip and pomegranate with lamb and onion rings. both mains were absolutely delicious and the flavour combination worked amazingly well together! a mandarin sorbet with elderflower jelly was a light palette cleanser afterwards before moving onto the dessert which was their signature dark chocolate caramel tart with mascarpone gelato. personally, i’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate because of its richness but this dessert had everything, from the sweetness of the tart with the saltiness of the caramel along with the freshness of the gelato. this dessert had everything you could want on a plate. for drinks, i had the espresso martini ($20) and i was surprised that they gave a generous amount where the flavour had a more salty taste from the salted caramel.

ambiance:
the mood of the restaurant was fantastic! it could be due to the aftermath of covid but it was nice to have a quiet corner to ourselves in a low lighted room away from the other tables. the decor was very dark yet very modern so it created a nice mood to the environment. all staff had to wear black gloves but it suited with their dark, black aprons.

service:
the staff were all very lovely, they checked up on our meals but in a nice way (not too pushy and did not ask us every 15 mins). to me, it felt more like they were being friendly in making casual conversations while asking about how thefoodand everything was rather than just directly asking how thefoodwas and then walking away immediately.

overall:
i was very happy with everything. this is the best degustation i’ve had so far with how excellent thefoodtastes, the uniqueness and for a really good price too. i quite liked the atmosphere because it was not too noisy but you have that nice space between you and the other tables. i would recommend to try the confit duck leg, the crispy pork belly and the sticky braised lamb. i would definitely come back again :)

very beautifulfoodand service! for the two of us, we were recommended to order 1 entree, 2 mains, sides and a dessert to share. for entree, we ordered the prawn and the scallops. the scallops is definitely a must! we chose the beef and salmon for mains. the karrakala from the salmon’s dish is a star. the beef with the salad is just so well-rounded. we also ordered brussel sprouts for a side, its crunchy, sweet and savoury. but, i just felt that its the only dish that i find it difficult to finish. for dessert, we were recommended the meringue which was perfect for the warm evening. i was initially hesitant as i am not a big fan of meringue and they usually turned out to be too sweet for my palate. but, the meringue just exceeded my expectation. very instagrammable and very tasty indeed! overall, we will come back!

amazing place, thefoodis absolutely amazing and the wait staff were really friendly and attentive.

atmosphere is nice and cosy.

entree we ordered were yummy, after the complimentary smoked butter and bread, my favourite was the seared scallops.

dinner and sides were amazing as well. the eye fillet cooked perfectly for instance. my only grip is they basically have
- 3 sides for $20
- mains at ~ $40 each
then they offer the shared meal deal for two
- 3 sides + 3 mains for $120 ($60/person) which seems like a $20 discount - but alas isn’t - as the portions are about a third smaller

at the end of the day no issue as, the desserts really stuffed us. the citruses coconut gelato based one really cleansed the palate well.

arrived from sydney to celebrate hubby’s birthday. as we weren’t familiar with brisbane, we took some wrong turns and had to change the time couple of time but they were so accommodating! service was just awesome, attentive and friendly.foodwas so so good! we demolished everything they put down.
they even wrote happy bday on the dessert platter which was very touching! the rating was consistent with the quality of the restaurant. thank you for making the day extra special!

i usually don’t write reviews but after my experience with rogue bistro, i have the urge to do so. my partner and i went to this restaurant for date night for the very first time and honestly, it was probably the bestfoodwe’ve tasted in a long time. we ordered some entrees and “the ark” (bird, sheep, and vegetable). we loved all of the dishes we had ordered and we were impressed by the dish presentation as well. we did watch mkr for the past few weeks so we were so ready to be extra and find any flaws but there was literally nothing about thefoodwe didn’t like. i think we both almost teared up after the entrees. on top of that, the service we had was exceptional. ambience was cozy and romantic that night. definitely recommend to everyone! great for birthday dinners, dates or even just a casual day/night out with friends/family :)
