rocco’s tacos brings together mexican cuisine, a diverse cocktail bar, lively crowd, beautiful venue and perfect atmosphere. with over 425 varieties of tequila, they pride themselves on making their own sour mix.  rocco’s tacos is so much more than a restaurant, it’s aplaceto have fun. we had so much fun that after we came for lunch to enjoy the food, diva #1 returned at night to enjoy rocco’s tacos nightlife.

awesomeplacethat changed my mind to mexican food!  service is great, prices are worth it, lots of tequilla go into the margaritas, custom-mixed guac at your table, and the tacos are phenomenal and fresh!  turns into a club late nights, but for dinner it's certainly a stop to behold on las olas!  i've been here several times now and it's been top notch every time!  best mexican in sofla.

we had one of the best nights here!
we showed up on a friday night for dinner after bumping into people recommending it to us on the water taxi and found theplaceto be cram packed. we were advised of the 1 hr wait which we were fine with and trotted off to the bar area to make the time pass. i enjoyed my mojitos while the hubby went for the sangria jugs. soon enough we were seated in the outdoor area and our meals arrived in good time. the music, buzz, staff, and atmosphere were all great fun. top night out!

came to south beach for couple of days. asked around were the locales like to go and thisplacegot recommended to us! went there for lunch , there was no wait, service was quick!! absolutely loved the food. drinks not so much, margaritas were just too strong and not that good and 12$ a piece. the food itself i though it was very reasonably priced, but that is coming from somebody that ate in south beach all the time and their prices are just ridiculously outrageous !!

fantastic tacos. the pulled pork, ground beef, and grilled korean beef meats for the tacos was all uniquely flavorful. the made-in-house corn tortillas alone were worth the trip. top-nothch atmosphere and great margaritas round out a guaranteed rewarding experience. it may be a crowded, budding chain, but i'd welcome thisplacein my hometown.

bland and loud!!. we made the mistake of trying rocco's on a friday night. anyone familiar with the las olas area knows not to do this. but we figured that if we got there ealy, (6:30pm), we could avoid the mob scene. wrong! 90 minute wait to be seated, followed by another 45 minute wait for our meal to actually be on the table.
as for the food, after that kind of wait you'd think we were so ravenous that we would have wolfed it all down. wrong again. while the chips and salsa were delicious, the dinner was anything but. i ordered that night's special: shrimp tacos with a miso sauce. i might as well have ordered plaster board. tasteless, and the shrimp were so overcooked they'll be appearing as fossils at the museum of natural history. seriously, what a terrible experience and disappointment. but what can you expect from a kitchen that is so overwhelmed. quality suffers.
the only thing worse than the food is the ambiance. forget about talking. the music is cranking, the bar is packed with drunkards, and the patrons are all screaming at one another to be heard. loud! let me repeat: loud!!!
i can't recommend thisplacefor dinner, at least on a weekend.

expensive and wayyyy overrated!. i was down in south florida visiting friends this past weekend. they were talking up rocco's and i have heard great things about it from other south florida friends, so i wanted to give it a try. we originally arrived at 11:00pm on saturday night to a 45-minute wait. we were starving, so we left. we went back on sunday night at 9:00pm and there was a short wait. the fact that people would wait to eat at this restaurant is ridiculous!

they charge you $3.00 for salsa. now, if the salsa was good i would not be complaining. but, it wasn't! it is pretty standard in mexican restaurants in this country to give you complimentary chips and salsa. so, the $3.00 charge was surprising. i ordered the yucatan (a chicken enchilada and two skirt steak soft tacos) for $16.00. i requested no lettuce, but the server obviously was not paying attention because they had lettuce on them. it did not even come with any rice and beans. i was completely underwhelmed with the dish and for the price i expected more. we also ordered the homemade guacamole prepared table-side for $12.00. cantina laredo does the same thing and it is only $9.00 there and better! the server did not even prepare the guacamole at the table. a gentleman who did not speak english prepared it on a dirty cart that was brought out from the kitchen and had dirty dishes on the middle shelf!

i imagine our server gets by on his good looks. i mean, he was not incredibly bad. but, he was not attentive either. we sat for a very long time without a chips and salsa refill and before he even took our order.

i am so confused as to why thisplaceis so busy and popular. it is loud, expensive, the food is mediocre, and the service is eh. i am sure it is because the residents of south florida have no idea what a good restaurant is. they just want to think they look good at a trendy place. i fell for this trap once. but, not again. i will not be back. south florida, you should demand better!

not impressed at all!. this was not great. the food was expensive and bland. it was all so pedestrian and heavy and yuck. zona fresca is better than this for a fraction of the cost and it is a fast food place. someone plzzz open a great mexicanplacewith fresh, tasty food. pllllzzzz!!

these tacos rock!. rocco's tacos is a greatplacefor lunch, dinner date, happy hour or group dinners. the atmosphere is amazing w/ a full liquor bar and teqila bar. they have many types of tacos to choose from. i had the skirt steak taco, fish taco and the spicy beef. the skirt steak had great flavor, just a little bit over cooked, as for the spicy beef, i would give it 3 out of 5 stars...the fish taco was the shining star of the tacos! it was blacken mahi and all of the tacos are dressed w/ lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro and queso fresca cheese. the chips and salsa may be the best i've ever had! please visit rocco's tacos when you are in ft. lauderdale! happy eats!!

we were excited to try thisplaceas we've been searching for fresh, authentic mexican for quite awhile, but unfortunately we didn't find it here. the night started with a moderate wait for a cramped table, but we anticipated this based on reviews. the margaritas went down easily. i ordered the happy hour special, my husband ordered top shelf, both were good. the fresh tableside guac was decent, not exceptional. we both ordered tacos - we tried them all - they were just ok. the meat was too salty and the fixings were bland. i expected more from the handmaded tortillas as well, but they were unimpressive too. i enjoyed the fantastic decor and fun, upbeat atmosphere, but found it it to be a bit too loud (maybe i'm just getting old). our waitress was excellent, friendly and helpful. we will likely give thisplaceone more chance, probably try something other than the tacos, but the first experience was a little disappointing.
