outstanding. i went for happy hour and tried the pork wings (pork shoulders the size of a large chicken drumstick with yummy sauce), chili verde pot, "big a*" burger, chicken pesto flatbread, and fish tacos. all were excellent. fish tacos among the best one ever had. burger is huge. also got pecan pie (loaded with pecans, plus chocolate chips), very good. all this for $60 plus tip.

absolutely no complaints. will be back.


six months later ... i went back. got the same order, but sub'ed a side order of street corn and green chilimacinstead of the flatbread (fyi, you can get half-size orders on all sides, for half price). ... other than the pork wings none of it was quite as good as i remembered it. still very good (and cannot beat the happy hour price - $60 plus tip!). i won't change my rating. ... also tried the ancho chocolate torte - excellent (dark chocolate with a hint of heat - really good).

you'll roar your approval. the absolute highest creativity and quality you'll find in scottsdale. all the regular items are wonderful and the rotating dishes like the blt salad are outstanding. the ribs - yes. the barbequed chicken - oh yeah. the green chilemacand cheese - hmmmm. in the dining room or bar (best deals), you'll love it.

i went to have a nice christmas eve meal at roaring fork with my folks and it didn't disappoint in anyway. the ambiance is outstanding, it feels like a perfect place for winter with decor that seems straight out of some faraway sierra nevada ski lodge. the service was terrific, absolutely no complaints and our waiter dan made great recommendations on entrées, sides, and wine.

i had the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin which was cook to perfection with cheese grits and sweet corn accompaniments. my dining partners both had 22 oz. ribeye steaks that exceeded those i've tried at much swankier steakhouses. we also shared the green chilemacand cheese, and the sauteed spinach, which were also very good.

i can't wait to return to try more of the menu, what a great evening.

only two thumbs up...(keep reading). because i only have two thumbs. if i had more i would give it more. from the second we stepped in the door we were treated graciously and politely by the staff. all of the staff were friendly towards us. the only part of the experience that was better than the service was the food itself. we ordered the filet mignon, street corn, and green chilimacand cheese. for starters, the steak was high quality. i would rank it the best i have had in phoenix, better than ruth criss and flemmings. my wife thought it rivaled steaks from emeril lagasse's las vegas restaurant, del monico. the sides were equally as good and made to share. we will definitely be dining here again. i personally saw the chef conducting quality control by checking plate presentation and even sampling some sauces to double check the flavor. without hesitation, this was the best restaurant experience we have had in phoenix.

amazing steak!. i went to roaring fork on a first date. great choice the guy had made! it smelled so wonderful inside. the waiter was very knowledgeable and described all the specials with great detail. the filet mignon was one of the best i've ever had! the green chilimacand cheese was superb. i also had asparagus. the sides are big enough to split. the wine list was great. overall the total experience was wonderful and i would definitely go back. very glad i got to finally try this place.

blown away!. we came here a day after our wedding with family on a recommendation. a party of 12 and everyone was in love with their meals. definitely get an order or two of the green chilimacand cheese! i loved the sugar cured duck breast and my wife really enjoyed the brown butter rainbow trout. great drinks, wonderful desserts and outstanding service really made this a great experience. thanks roaring fork!

comfort food at its best. named after a river near aspen colorado the roaring fork serves great comfort food. the fried chicken and green chillmacand cheese being a highlight. the fried chicken is a big, boneless chicken breast on top of mashed potatoes. the green chilimacand cheese had a little spice to it, but the texture of themacand cheese was the best i think i have ever had. the cheese was not runny, nor was it really sticky, it was just right. one thing i would pass on next time was the bread pudding. the bread pudding was runnier then i am used to for a bread pudding, the flavor was good, just too soupy for me.

we are from texas, in town for tcu's bowl game, and decided to try out roaring fork based on reviews. the food was excellent. the pork tenderloin was amazing. my husband had a bone-in-ribeye that was literally one of the best he has ever had-and we are from texas! the green chile pork and green chilemacand cheese are must tries as well. the service was good, not great, but the food more than made up for it. we left wishing there was a roaring fork back in fort worth. awesome!

left stuffed and happy. come hungry, leave stuffed and much lighter in the wallet, but you definitely get what you pay for and are happy to do so!

seriously this place was amazing...we shared the chicken flatbread and the pork wings to start with a nice bottle of riesling. i only got one piece of the flatbread to try (because i had an entire pork wing to myself) and it was super delicious with a lovely pesto flavour from the sauce. the pork wings were slow roasted so the meat just fell off the bone and the dr. pepper bbq sauce was delicious!

for a main course most of us had the sugar-cured duck breast....they were generous with the duck, the 'little cabbages' (aka brussel sprouts) were delicious and i rarely like ones done by anyone other than my mom, and the flavours were just to die for. the duck skin was incredible and the meat perfectly cooked so it was beautifully juicy. the bf had the short ribs which turned out to be massive and i got to try a bite - amazing flavour and the meat was super tender so you didn't need a knife at all to pull it apart! we shared a bowl of the green chilimacand cheese and a plate of the asparagus...definitely sides worth trying but you should plan on sharing them...portions are not tiny! the green chilimacand cheese was coated in a light dusting of breadcrumbs that just worked with the flavours!

for dessert i tried the deep fried banana split tortilla thing which i somehow managed to down (again, generous with portion sizing) after finishing my red wine, and i don't know how i did it but that was delicious...two scoops of icecream, one chocolate, one vanilla with c hocolate bits, whipped cream, two deep fried banana rolls, and a dusting of cinnamon...yum!

my mother and sister ordered cappuccinos that came with a lovely dusting of cinnamon that i could smell from across the table and two little rock-sugar cubes...if i hadn't been stuffing my face with bananas and icecream i probably would have tried one they smelled so good!

all in all, not cheap but as i said you get what you pay for and the size matches the quality to the point where you don't want to stop eating until you have to roll home...luckily the hotel was just around the corner and across the street...so good we will be back for sure!!

oh yeah! "taste-tacular"!. this was a great place for the family. everything was spot on! my son loved the "big ass burger". my daughter liked the loaded mash potatoes and green chilimacand cheese...yes! my wife had the slow roasted pork shoulder, very tender and juicy. i had the fish tacos...mahi mahi and the tortilla soup...oh yeah! as my son put it in his term "taste-tacular" sorry no room for dessert. -tk

omg, green chili mac!. a friend of mine told me about the green chili macaroni, but i was reluctant to go to the roaring fork, because as a vegetarian it is the only thing on the menu i can eat! but i did go just for themacand it was amazing! we ate in the bar, my boyfriend had the big-ass burger which he loved and i paired mymacwith some really good french fries. and i had the prickly pear margarita which was amazing!

yes!. this is one of my favorite places... casual, but upscale. everything on the menu is great. service is exceptional, even the bread is fantastic. you must order the green chilimacn cheese! you cant go wrong here...
