roaring fork

i went to have a nice christmas eve meal at roaring fork with my folks and it didn't disappoint in anyway. the ambiance is outstanding, it feels like a perfect place for winter with decor that seems straight out of some faraway sierra nevada ski lodge. the service was terrific, absolutely no complaints and our waiter dan madegreatrecommendations on entrées, sides, and wine.

i had the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin which was cook to perfection with cheese grits and sweet corn accompaniments. my dining partners both had 22 oz. ribeye steaks that exceeded those i've tried at much swankier steakhouses. we also shared the green chile mac and cheese, and the sauteed spinach, which were also very good.

i can't wait to return to try more of the menu, what agreatevening.

my fiancé took me here while we visited phoenix for his business trip. the place was packed on a wednesday night, so we knew the food must be good! happy hour menu hasgreatdrink offerings for very reasonable prices, & a few appetizers that sounded good. we shared both the filet & "big ass burger"... & let me just say that burger's description is accurate! thing was huge. the filet was the best filet i've ever had... & i've dined all over the united states at fine steak houses. apparently the wood they cook on is the secret, but the texture & cut of meat is beyond superb. we had the asparagus with it, which is also flame grilled on the same wood & had a nice smokey flavor with a light seasoning. we also received a hint for next time, to ask for the burger "charred" because they cook it on a flat top... but if you ask for it charred they'll toss it over the same wood blend to give it that awesome flavor the steak has. we finished up with the pecan pie... oh my goodness! it's made with toffee & chocolate, & i'd never tell her to her face... but it's better than my momma's! the only reason i gave 4.5 stars was because the service was a little slow... but they were very busy. we will definitely make this a staple in our trips to phoenix!

delicious food, good portions, andgreatatmosphere!. we walked in during spring training and they quickly accommodated us with a beautiful table on the patio. the ahi tuna to start was perfect and then i enjoyed the yellow tail fish tacos (they come in 3s!). everyone i was with raved about their meals: filet with mash potatoes, fried chicken, blackened fish, and the duck. i would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

visited the roaring fork last night and it was very nice. ordered the queso first - it was delicious! my hubs ordered the big ass burger - very good! i ordered the salmon, it did not amaze me but it was cooked well. i recommend ordering something else. lots ofgreatreviews about the green chile mac, i was underwhelmed.

amazing steak!. i went to roaring fork on a first date.greatchoice the guy had made! it smelled so wonderful inside. the waiter was very knowledgeable and described all the specials withgreatdetail. the filet mignon was one of the best i've ever had! the green chili mac and cheese was superb. i also had asparagus. the sides are big enough to split. the wine list was great. overall the total experience was wonderful and i would definitely go back. very glad i got to finally try this place.

blown away!. we came here a day after our wedding with family on a recommendation. a party of 12 and everyone was in love with their meals. definitely get an order or two of the green chili mac and cheese! i loved the sugar cured duck breast and my wife really enjoyed the brown butter rainbow trout.greatdrinks, wonderful desserts and outstanding service really made this agreatexperience. thanks roaring fork!

great flavors of the old west. one of the things i love about restaurant week is that it helps shorten my wish list of restaurants that i want to try here in the valley. roaring fork was on the top of my list and came highly recommended. they are known for their wood fired meats (lamb, chicken, beef, pork - you name it). the food and atmosphere give you a feel of the old west. the food isgreatquality and deliciously prepared. the green chili pork stew was pretty freakin amazing. i had the flat iron as my main entree and savored every bite of it. i didn't try the huckleberry margarita, but i noticed a lot of people drinking them. i'll have to give it a shot next time around. service wasgreatas were the happy hour drink prices!

comfort food at its best. named after a river near aspen colorado the roaring fork servesgreatcomfort food. the fried chicken and green chill mac and cheese being a highlight. the fried chicken is a big, boneless chicken breast on top of mashed potatoes. the green chili mac and cheese had a little spice to it, but the texture of the mac and cheese was the best i think i have ever had. the cheese was not runny, nor was it really sticky, it was just right. one thing i would pass on next time was the bread pudding. the bread pudding was runnier then i am used to for a bread pudding, the flavor was good, just too soupy for me.

amazing braised lamb shank. nice western lodge ambiance. attentive staff. if you are looking for fun this is not it butgreatdining removed from the stuffy atmosphere associated with similar quality dining experiences.

i have eaten here twice and have not been disappointed either time. the service wasgreatboth times. the staff was very knowledgeable about the wine list and menu items. the items that they suggested were excellent. if you go, make sure that you leave room for dessert. the tortilla banana split is one of the best things that i've ever eaten.

good experience. visited rf for a group dinner.greatservice, food arrived quickly and was fresh. it was a bit noisy but i attributed that to a full restaurant. the "simply grilled fish of the day" was excellent and just the right amount. the side of aspargus was huge. excellent wine. all in all a good experience.

oh yeah! "taste-tacular"!. this was agreatplace for the family. everything was spot on! my son loved the "big ass burger". my daughter liked the loaded mash potatoes and green chili mac and cheese...yes! my wife had the slow roasted pork shoulder, very tender and juicy. i had the fish tacos...mahi mahi and the tortilla soup...oh yeah! as my son put it in his term "taste-tacular" sorry no room for dessert. -tk

yummy!!. must order the green chili pork stew! it is heavenly!! this place has a good ambiance and the chef is amazing.greatfor out of town guests to give them a taste of arizona without it being too "southwest style" heavy.

i frequently eat here and am always amazed how consistently delicious the meals are here. it is agreatlocation to take your clients to also. the service is great, as is the wine list! i do wish that they would sort out their parking though.
